Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Allies and Shadow‘s

The arena was silent again, but this silence was different.

It wasn't fear—it was anticipation.

Veyrix Noctar walked calmly through the empty space, observing every flicker of movement from the remaining participants.

From the shadows, a tall figure emerged.

Selara Myr—a girl with sharp eyes and a calculating smile.

"You survived… impressively," she said, voice cold.

"But do you really understand what this place is?"

Veyrix tilted his head slightly. Interesting…

"Survival isn't just about strength," Selara continued, stepping closer.

"It's about alliances. And control."

Her gaze swept the remaining participants.

"Choose your friends wisely… or you'll die alone."

Suddenly, Drax Veylor—humiliated from Chapter 2—stood up.

"Alone? No. I will crush anyone who stands in my way," he spat, glaring at both Veyrix and Selara.

Veyrix's eyes narrowed slightly.

Pride is predictable. Ego is fragile when wounded.

He didn't move yet. He let Drax fume. Let him reveal the cracks.

Selara smirked, noticing the tension.

"You see? He already believes himself stronger than you," she whispered to Veyrix.

Veyrix didn't answer. He didn't need to.

Observation is the deadliest weapon.

Suddenly, the system's voice echoed:

MISSION 2:

Form an alliance or challenge another participant within 15 minutes.

Time started counting down.

Participants began whispering, sizing each other up.

Fear and greed mixed into a toxic cocktail.

Drax stomped toward Selara, ready to assert dominance.

Selara stepped aside, effortlessly sidestepping.

Veyrix remained calm, silent, watching both.

Author's Thoughts:

Alliances are fragile, easily broken by pride and fear. Veyrix knows this. Strength is nothing without strategy. Observation alone can destroy ego faster than any strike.

Veyrix finally spoke, voice low and cold:

"You want to survive? Then think carefully. Strength alone won't save you."

Selara raised an eyebrow.

"I could say the same to you."

Drax growled.

"You're both weak if you hesitate. Only action matters!"

Veyrix's lips curved into a slight smile.

Let him act. Let him reveal his weaknesses. The system has already marked him.

The timer ticked down.

Allies would form… betrayals would begin… and only the sharpest minds would remain.

The shadows in the corners of the arena seemed to move with anticipation.

This was only the beginning.

Veyrix Noctar had survived two missions.

But now, the game was truly starting.
