Ray's POV
The lights were dim, almost dark. I was out of breath from running. I had caused a small fire which made the sprinklers and fire alarm go off. Everyone was evacuated to safety but this was our chance.
Drae was beside me. I almost thought it was over because we couldn't find anything, till i entered a door and found the safe. I called out to Drae.
"Drae i think i found it. Come here!" I said.
Drae ran towards the room i was at.
"Where is it?" He said.
"I think it's in this safe. We just need to find a way to open it." I said with relief.
We tried to open the safe but the lid was too strong. I suddenly heard footsteps coming towards the door with a flashlight.
"Who is there?" The man asked.
We didn't answer and there was no place to hide in that room. I hid behind the door, while Drae didn't hide. As the man stepped into the room his eyes met with Drae.
He took out his gun to shoot when i immediately came from the back of the door and grabbed him by the neck,then the man shot the gun but misfired and hit the safe instead and the lock opened. The sound of the gunfire alerted the other men.
I didn't let go of his neck. I choked him till he fainted.
"Oh shit shit. They are coming, we need to get out of here." Drae said with a bit of fear.
"Run! I will be behind you." I said to him.
He ran as i fought with some men to slow them down. Then i ran towards our motorcycle outside the casino. Drae drove with the highest speed while i held on to the cash at the back of the motorcycle.
The men from the casino chased us with their car but we managed to cut them off at some point we escaped. We were so happy.
We got to the orphanage home and ran towards the girls. They were in the kitchen.
We weren't too loud to avoid waking up the other kids.
I opened the safe easily because the lock was already broken. The money was huge.
"We finally hit the jackpot." Arisa said while jumping and smiling with joy.
"Tomorrow we will finally be free. I can't believe it." Lilac said with excitement.
"Tomorrow you all will leave at the first bus at 7:00am before anyone wakes up and i will catch up with you all with second bus." I said.
"Wait, you're not leaving with us?" Lilac said with a frown.
"No i'm not. I have some things i need to take care of before i leave. I will meet up with you, don't be scared. No more questions please i'm tired, i need to rest." I said.
They all looked at me with a frown but i didn't budge.
"Drae let's go to bed. You girls should hold on to the money, it's safer." I said.
Morning came and Drae wasn't there so i felt him and the girls had already left. I went on to do some chores. After that i went to the kitchen where the kids were to make breakfast for the kids when i saw that Ray, Lilac and Arisa were still there.
"Why are you all still here?" I asked with anger.
The 7:00am had already left. I was in despair because they were not safe here.
"Pack your things now and go, you can still meet up with the 8:00am bus. It's almost time." I said to them as i dripped with sweat.
"Calm down, there is no Rush." Drae said. He didn't understand.
The girls just kept on playing with the kids and making different shapes of pancakes for the kids. I had no choice but to start pushing them to start going.
They were laughing.
Two black expensive cars and a black Van pulled up at the orphanage home.
"Who are they?" Drae asked.
I immediately knew who they were.
"Run and take the kids inside." I said.
Before they could do anything the men already made their way inside with guns pointing towards our heads.
The man that i made faint at the Casino yesterday was pushed forward. He was beaten up and bleeding all over with cuts. Blood dripped all over his body. He looked like he was about to die.
"Which of them stole from us?" A man with a gun said as he cocked his gun to shoot.
"It was them." The man said as he pointed at us then fell to the floor and fainted.
A man immediately walked towards us. I blocked him and held onto his neck then he kicked me on my torso and i fell to the floor.
"Where is the money?" He asked.
I didn't say anything, but Arisa immediately walked towards the place where she hid the money and gave it to them.
"Here's your money. Now leave us alone." She shouted with tears in her eyes.
"You dare steal from the Origami gang and tell us to leave? You're all dead." The man said.
"The origami gang? They owned the place?" Drae said as he looked at me.
I couldn't say a word.
"What did you do?" Drae asked with tears in his eyes.
Our father walked in.
"What are you doing here? What business do you have with my kids." He asked them.
"Oh so they are your kids. Rocco Harvard, you traitor. The boss would love this." The man in the suit said with a smile.
"Your kids stole from us." He said
He looked at us and cussed us out.
"You fools. Do you know what you have done?" He said with anger.
"I will follow you to see your leader so i can talk to him. Let the kids be." He said.
"They are coming with us. It's an order from the boss." The man in suit said.
They took us into the van and drove off to where the boss was.
I thought to myself that it was my fault and I'm putting the people i love in danger.
What have i done?
