Chapter 5 - Chapter 5: Red-Haired Knight Reinhardt

Night fell.

Gojo leaned against the side of the street, looking at the streets which were much quieter than during the day.

He finished the last piece of honey sponge cake in his hand in a few bites and stretched comfortably.

"Mmm."

"The desserts in this world are really quite good."

Licking his lips, which still held a hint of sweetness, Gojo brushed the crumbs off his hands and then pulled three copper coins out of his pocket.

"It seems I accidentally spent all my money."

Gojo scratched his head. Having eaten and drunk his fill, a hint of sleepiness was beginning to emerge, but the three copper coins he had left were clearly not enough for him to find a place to stay.

However, Gojo Felt he couldn't blame himself for this.

After all, as a huge fan of sweets, upon seeing so many desserts in this other world that he had never heard of before, it was absolutely impossible for him not to try them.

It was just that the prices for desserts in this world seemed a little expensive.

Plus, he had bought quite a lot...

Well, it's not entirely incomprehensible; after all, in this kind of medieval setting, just being able to eat your fill is good enough.

Sweets, things that bring people a sense of happiness, are already considered a luxury among food, so it's normal for them to be a bit expensive.

"Honestly, besides fighting witches, can't the hero also fight to lower the price of desserts?"

"Looks like I need to think of a solution, otherwise I'll be sleeping on the streets tonight."

Gojo took out the last candy in his pocket, tossed it into his mouth, and began to think of a plan.

Yet, until the pedestrians on the street became fewer and fewer, he was still standing in the same spot.

"Tsk."

"If Geto Suguru found out about this, he would definitely laugh at me."

After thinking for a long time without coming up with any ideas, Gojo simply sat down on the steps by the street.

In this situation, there is only one way: wait until late at night and go to the homes of those great nobles or merchants.

The manors where those people live must have plenty of empty rooms; I can just find one to stay in.

Anyway, it's impossible for ordinary people to discover him.

It's just that this method makes one feel a bit unhappy.

Just as he was thinking this, a burst of footsteps came from not far away, sounding exceptionally clear on the gradually quietening street.

Bored, Gojo looked towards the sound and saw several figures dressed in crisp white uniforms walking over.

Leading them was a tall, well-built young man with flaming red hair, clear blue eyes, regular features, and a distinguished temperament.

Every movement he made was like that of a being that should only exist in paintings.

"Hmm?"

When Gojo noticed the other party, the other party also looked at him immediately.

Their gazes collided in mid-air and converged.

Instinctively.

The moment their gazes met, the other party's presence already appeared within Gojo's perception.

Under the gaze of his Six Eyes, Gojo could clearly feel the exceptionally pure aura emanating from the young man before him.

This aura contained no malice, yet it carried an extremely powerful vitality and a sense of order, like a sharp sword in its sheath—its edge restrained yet impossible to ignore.

Feeling the other party's aura, the eyes beneath Gojo's Sunglasses brightened slightly.

He stood up immediately and walked towards them.

"Hey, you guys are the patrol guards, right?"

Gojo waved at the group with a chuckle, speaking in a very familiar manner.

The red-haired man leading them had a gentle expression and nodded politely to Gojo: "We are knights of the Knights Order currently on patrol duty. May I ask what you need, sir?"

Upon hearing this, a smile bloomed on Gojo's face.

"In that case, that's perfect; I didn't find the wrong person."

As he spoke, Gojo proactively reached out his hands towards the other man.

"Come on, take me away."

"Eh?"

The red-haired knight was stunned, seemingly confused by Gojo's inexplicable statement.

"It's fine, just arrest me and lock me up for the night."

Saying this, Gojo yawned, "It's getting late, and staying up all night isn't a good habit."

"Has your excellency committed some crime and wishes to turn yourself in?"

The red-haired knight stared at the Gojo before him, his clear and bright blue eyes seeming to possess some strange power that could reach directly into one's heart.

"Well, let's just say that. You can take me back, lock me up, and then interrogate me tomorrow."

Gojo reached out his hands again, looking as if he wanted them to hurry up and do it.

"Although I don't understand why you would lie about committing a crime."

"However, may I ask if you have encountered some trouble?"

The red-haired knight didn't mind Gojo's actions, nor did he show any other extreme behavior or impatience.

His tone remained calm as he looked earnestly at Gojo and said.

"If there is anything I can do to help…"

Seeing that the other party had seen through his somewhat perfunctory lie and had no intention of arresting him at all.

Gojo reached up and slightly pulled his Sunglasses down from the bridge of his nose, revealing a pair of peculiar eyes that even the red-haired knight couldn't help but take a second look at.

"Now that you mention it, there really is something I need help with."

"My name is Gojo, and I am an outsider traveler."

"You."

"Lend me some money."

Hearing Gojo's words, the few knights behind the red-haired knight exchanged glances, and one stepped forward, preparing to reprimand him.

In their eyes, this inexplicable, frivolous guy had hands and feet, yet instead of working hard to earn money, he was here saying strange things.

However, before they could speak, the red-haired knight raised a hand to stop them.

"My name is Reinhardt. Since you are an outsider traveler, why do you have no money? Have you been swindled?"

Reinhardt didn't have the same emotions as his companions, but asked carefully instead.

"That's not it."

Gojo shrugged, his tone nonchalant, "I just suddenly arrived here and didn't have time to prepare."

He didn't explain too much; after all, something like "transmigration" is truly hard to understand when spoken aloud.

Right now, even he himself is still in the exploratory stage, half-believing and half-doubting.

Although, looking at current developments, it is highly likely.

Reinhardt didn't speak, seemingly pondering something.

Seeing that the other party didn't immediately refuse, Gojo struck while the iron was hot.

"With your strength, you shouldn't be short of this little bit of money, right?"

"I can owe you a favor. A favor from me, Gojo, is very valuable."

Seeing Gojo's confident demeanor, Reinhardt became increasingly curious about this young man.

Under the effect of his Divine Protections, even without actively trying to investigate anything, he could roughly judge that the person before him was not lying.
