Chapter 1 - THE LAUGHING HEIST

CHAPTER 1:- The Wrong Package

It was a humid evening in Kolkata when Arjun Dutta realized he had just stolen the wrong bag.

Arjun wasn't exactly a thief—he preferred the term "situational borrower." But when he accidentally picked up a sleek black suitcase from a crowded train platform, he didn't expect it to contain something that would turn his life upside down.

"Why is this thing so heavy?" he muttered, dragging it into his tiny apartment.

His best friend, Riya, lounged on the couch, munching chips. "Maybe it's filled with gold bars," she joked.

"Ha. If that's true, I'm retiring tomorrow."

They exchanged a look. Then, slowly, Arjun opened the suitcase.

Inside wasn't gold. It was worse.

Bundles of cash. A gun. And a note that read:

"Delivery by midnight. No mistakes. —V"

Riya blinked. "Congratulations, Arjun. You're officially in a crime thriller."

Arjun gulped. "Can I resign?"

CHAPTER 2:- The Mysterious "V"

The phone rang.

Both of them froze.

"Answer it!" Riya whispered.

"You answer it!"

"I'm not the one who stole a mafia suitcase!"

Arjun sighed and picked up the call. "Hello?"

A deep voice replied, "You have the package. Bring it to the old warehouse by midnight. And don't try anything funny."

Arjun looked at Riya. She mouthed, We're dead.

"Of course," Arjun said nervously. "No funny business. I hate funny business."

He hung up.

Riya stood up dramatically. "We have two options: run away or pretend to be professional criminals."

"Let's run away."

"And go where? They'll find you!"

"Then let's pretend."

Riya grinned. "Now that sounds like fun."

Arjun stared at her. "You're enjoying this, aren't you?"

"A little."

CHAPTER 3:- Training Day

Riya decided they needed preparation.

"You can't just walk into a mafia deal looking like a confused accountant," she said, throwing a leather jacket at him.

"I am a confused accountant."

"Not tonight. Tonight, you're dangerous."

They practiced walking "like villains," which mostly resulted in Arjun tripping over furniture.

"Less penguin, more panther," Riya instructed.

"Panthers don't pay rent," Arjun complained.

They rehearsed lines:

Riya: "Where's the money?"

Arjun: "Right here."

Riya: "No, say it with attitude!"

Arjun: "RIGHT HERE!" he shouted, startling himself.

"Better," she nodded.

By 11:30 PM, they were as ready as two amateurs pretending to be criminals could be.

CHAPTER 4:- The Warehouse

The warehouse stood silent, like it was holding its breath.

Inside, shadows moved.

A tall man stepped forward. "You're late."

Arjun glanced at his watch. "Actually, I'm right on—"

Riya elbowed him.

"—late. Yes. Very late. Sorry. Traffic."

The man narrowed his eyes. "Do you have the package?"

Arjun placed the suitcase on the table, trying to look confident but mostly looking constipated.

The man opened it, inspecting the contents.

Suddenly, another voice echoed from behind.

"Well, well… this isn't my courier."

Everyone turned.

A woman in a red coat stepped into the light.

"Who are you?" she asked coldly.

Arjun swallowed. "Delivery… intern?"

Riya facepalmed.

The woman smirked. "Interesting. Very interesting."

CHAPTER 5:- Chaos Begins

Before anyone could react, chaos erupted.

Police sirens wailed outside.

"IT'S A RAID!" someone shouted.

"RUN!" yelled another.

Arjun panicked. "This was not in the rehearsal!"

Riya grabbed his arm. "Stick to the plan!"

"What plan?!"

"RUN FASTER!"

They dashed through the warehouse, dodging shouting gang members and confused officers.

At one point, Arjun accidentally knocked over a stack of crates, creating a domino effect that blocked half the room.

"Hey, that actually worked!" Riya said.

"I'm accidentally brilliant!"

They burst out the back door, gasping for breath.

CHAPTER 6:- The Twist

Just as they thought they were safe, the woman in the red coat appeared again.

"Impressive," she said, clapping slowly.

Arjun groaned. "Can we not do this right now?"

She smiled. "Relax. I'm not here to hurt you."

"Great," Riya said. "Because we're very fragile."

The woman sighed. "My name is Vera. And you two just helped me."

"Helped you?" Arjun blinked. "We almost died!"

"Yes," Vera nodded. "But thanks to your… unexpected performance, the police arrested my rivals."

Riya raised an eyebrow. "So… we accidentally completed your mission?"

"Exactly."

Arjun stared at her. "Do we at least get paid?"

Vera paused. Then she laughed.

"You're funny. I like you."

She handed them a small envelope.

Inside was money. A lot of it.

CHAPTER 7:- Back to Normal (Almost)

The next morning, Arjun sat on his couch, staring at the envelope.

Riya sipped tea. "So… what did we learn?"

"That I should never pick up random luggage again."

"And?"

"That crime is stressful."

"And?"

Arjun smiled slightly. "That we make a pretty good team."

Riya grinned. "Obviously."

Just then, Arjun's phone buzzed.

A message appeared:

"New job. Same time tonight? —V"

Arjun slowly looked at Riya.

She was already smiling.

"No," he said firmly.

Pause.

"...Maybe one more time."

Riya clapped. "Adventure awaits!"

Arjun sighed. "Or disaster."

"Same thing," she said cheerfully.

EPILOGUE :- The Beginning of Trouble

That night, two very unqualified "criminals" walked into another situation they didn't understand.

And somehow, once again, they made it worse… and better.

Because sometimes, the best thrillers aren't about perfect plans—

They're about perfectly imperfect people who survive by luck, laughter, and a little bit of chaos.

The End… or maybe just the beginning.....
