It has been known to be very rare for guests to enter the Pope’s personal office.
Their ridiculous reason was that letting outsiders in would taint the holiness of the space.
Hence, it was considered a generational honor to be able to even set foot in this space.
Of course, Ronya and I didn’t care in the slightest about any of that.
As we followed the priest down a fancy hallway, we found ourselves in a long corridor.
At the end of it was a relatively sturdy-looking door that led to a garden.
The garden was filled with a variety of decorative shrubs and flowers.
Though everything was beautiful and eloquently designed, the place didn’t feel real.
Perhaps it was because it was built for a deity, not humans.
It was thus quite a surprise to find such a vivacious place within these lifeless walls.
I was studying everything with a sense of curious vigor, but unlike me, the priest seemed a little frightened.
