#Chapter 42
A bad boy.
There was no word more fitting to describe Zahid than this word.
He was frightening, stone cold, and yet kind, warm.
His hypocritical attitude always made it hard for me to keep a straight mind.
I kept finding myself wanting to rely on him.
But I knew better than anyone that that would be a horrible choice.
Wishing to believe a man who can’t be trusted, I was just as hypocritical as Zahid.
The sun was far below the horizon when we arrived at the Carnoire castle.
Though the carriage had come to a halt, Zahid and I didn’t say a thing.
“I think I’m going to sleep at the annex wing with the twins today. I better be by their side on a night like this.”
“What about dinner?”
“I’m going to pass on dinner today. I’m far too tired……”
Zahid chuckled at how I was trying my best to not meet his eyes.
He opened the carriage door for me, smiling.
The way he smiled when he did almost give me the feeling that he was letting me go for tonight.
