Everything inside my head went dark as if I had walked into a pitch-black room. Even if they tracked us down, I assumed that Ronya or Jantzen or the knights from the Nameless Order would be the ones to find us. I could have never imagined that he would be the one to personally seek us out.
I stared at him in disbelief. He had definitely been dragged around by the knights earlier, and I could vividly remember him inside the carriage, tied up with ropes. But there Zahid was, in front of me. I had no idea what happened to the convoy of Imperial Knights, Holy Knights, and priests.
‘Please tell me he didn’t break out and run off…’
A chill ran down my spine the moment that thought came to mind because it was probably true. Considering the things Zahid had done in the past, there was no reason he wouldn’t be capable of doing something like that.
