If his gaze were to have taken on a physical form, it would have already torn me into pieces. It was as if he was beating me with his eyes and his fierce stare made my body tingle. He narrowed his eyes at one point as he shifted his gaze over to Hirkan.
While his face remained emotionless, there was an intense look in his eyes that seemed to radiate the energy that he had already sent several people up to heaven. He repeated the motion of clenching and unclenching his long, tidy fingers into a fist.
I knew exactly what was going on.
Zahid was currently stuck between his instinctive reaction to kill Hirkan and the reasons why he shouldn’t do so. Knowing how thin and fragile his patience ran, I tapped Hirkan on the shoulder promptly.
“Cheryl and Ethan told me to do that.”
He whispered as he lowered me carefully.
All I could do was let out a small sigh.
