Adeline brushed her teeth alongside Gideon, who kept gently nudging her elbow. She smiled through the foam before casting him playful glares. Once they were finished, they rinsed and stepped out of the washroom.
Suddenly, Gideon scooped her up from behind with one powerful arm, startling a gasp out of her.
"Want to go for a swim?" he asked, a teasing glint in his eyes.
"At this hour? I don't even have a swimsuit. Besides, I don't know how to swim," she reminded him, wrapping her arms around his neck for balance. "But I can sit by the side and watch you swim. Aren't you tired, though? You haven't rested at all since returning from the Whispering Isles." Her voice softened with genuine concern.
"Swimming helps me relieve stress," he stated.
"Then let's go," Adeline replied. "You can put me down now and change into your swimming shorts," she added with a smile.
Gideon lowered her feet back to the floor, and she walked out to the pool area ahead of him while he quickly changed.
