"A warlock uses dark magic. I don't think taking his help is a wise idea. I want to play it safe, because absolutely nothing can be allowed to jeopardize Adeline or myself," Gideon explained, his posture rigid.
"You think the warlock will try to take advantage of your situation?" Tiger questioned, crossing his arms.
"Yes. That is how those entities operate," Gideon replied firmly. "The answers will come to me eventually. Thanks for the suggestion, though."
Gideon patted Tiger's arm and turned, jogging back toward the mansion.
When he entered his bedroom, the faint sound of running water told him Adeline was already out of bed and in the shower.
Moving to the side table, he picked up a glass and poured himself some water. As he drank it, a sudden idea struck him. It was incredibly risky, but he wanted to try it at least once.
