Chapter 3 [Devil's Web] and the Report of Justice!
Basil felt an extremely strange connection between his body and the black book before him.
This connection transcended blood ties, and was not simply a fusion of souls.
It was as if it had become another version of himself.
The black book opened its first page without wind.

In the upper right corner was a 3D image of a blond, blue-eyed boy.
"Hmm, my personal information is here, and it's changed a bit."
"Leaving aside the other things that disappeared, attack has become magic power. The exploration attribute has also disappeared."
"The health points have changed the most."
"Luck has also become a dynamic value."
"A family trait has also been added."
"That makes sense." Basil looked at the Devil's Web planted in the corridor.
Before he awakened his memories,
he only knew that it was Devil's Web.
But Devil's Web was a dangerous plant.
It could extend snake-like tendrils to entangle anyone who approached it, causing injury or death.
And before he awakened his so-called family trait because of the [Spellbook], he had never been attacked by them.
And now, he even had the illusion that he could control them by injecting magic power.
"And," Basil touched his eyes.
His eyes seemed to have merged with the system component [Magic Camera].
This gave him image-based memory.
From now on, everything these eyes see will be like a photograph, stored in the album of his brain.
The spells, magical creatures, and magical items he sees can also be recorded in advance, and the energy consumed will be copied into cards later.
Just like now, only Basil himself could hear the click of a camera and the clatter of decreasing gems.
Gems: 1000 (-500)
A dynamic image of Devil's Web appeared on the second page of the spellbook.

"Summoning card, got!"
Basil put his hands on his hips, feeling more confident about the future.
Moreover, the game wasn't just about the [Spellbook] component.
The others weren't activated simply because they were incomplete, missing, or didn't meet the requirements.
That is, he hadn't officially become a Hogwarts student yet.
The remaining parts can be repaired using energy.
The lost parts can be retrieved by consuming energy, allowing Basil to travel to the corresponding world.
This energy is not limited by its origin or quality.
Whether it's sunlight in the material world, magic on the spiritual level, accumulated knowledge at the conceptual level, or a shift in world lines at the world level, all can be converted into energy.
This act of collecting energy, in a game context, is known as in-game purchases.
The increase in the number of gems represents an increase in energy.
"It seems that the number of gems increases as I live?" Basil thought.
He noticed
the number of gems he had acquired since the game became realistic in the upper right corner of his mind. It was gradually increasing over time.
Gems: 500 (+0.001/s)
"That's 0.06 per minute, 3.6 per hour, and 86.4 gems per day."
"That makes sense. If it weren't for the system, I would be dead."
"As long as I live, the timeline will shift slightly."
"Besides, even though I'm in a cave, there's still light."
"The game—no, the system component [Spellbook]—can now collect some energy when exposed to sunlight."
"So, this 0.001 gems must be from the timeline shift combined with the energy conversion from sunlight."
"However, traversing worlds requires 30,000."
"Hiss! Merlin's beard! It will take me almost 342 days to collect it all!"
"No, I can't keep daydreaming." Basil shook his head.
Right now, since the system wasn't helping him much...
He needed to figure out how to live,
especially with Fenrir Greyback lurking outside.
Basil left the living room and walked into the winding corridor.
He spent the entire afternoon
there. Basil inventoried the storage rooms, dressing rooms, kitchen, wine cellar, recreation room (a room for eating, playing cards, and storing books untouched for centuries), several bedrooms, and even the bathroom and toilet, all located along the corridor.
Basil discovered that all he had left was some bacon, eggs, and flour.
He had only 2 Galleons, 17 Silver Sickles, and 40 Bronze Knuts.
Although the house, resembling a small hill and nestled in a cave, had some free-range chickens and some vegetables growing outside,
for now, this cave-like house, where he lived like a hobbit, was his only safe haven.
"We have enough food for seven days. The water is pure water, converted from groundwater."
"It's July 27th now. School starts on September 1st."
"I come from a wizarding family, so no professors will come."
"But if I don't reply, Hogwarts should send a professor in seven days."
In the kitchen, Basil paced back and forth,
pondering his next move.
"No! I have to take the initiative!"
Before the sun had completely set,
Basil left the kitchen. He
opened the heavy cast-iron door
and entered the entrance room (the second magical entrance to this cave, besides the main door), which contained nothing but a gilded book sculpture.
Basil walked over and
familiarly placed his hand on the book cover.
A blue halo flashed, and the blond boy's figure vanished.
A mile away, high in the redwood trees, the treehouse was suddenly illuminated with warm light.
He placed the permanent portal key—the book sculpture—on a bench.
Basil glanced around the room, past the automatically lit fireplace, a small bowl of shimmering powder, and Fanta the snowy owl excitedly leaping about on the shelf, before walking to his desk.
He pulled out a parchment, picked up a quill, dipped it in ink, and began to write furiously. "
Dear Professor McGonagall:
I need your help with something.
I am an orphan, both my parents are dead.
My grandmother passed away a month ago.
She mentioned a name to me—Fenil Greyback—
saying he might be targeting our family.
I hadn't paid much attention before, but today, when I went out, I was attacked by him.
Luckily, I managed to get home in time.
We have a complete protective charm to prevent his intrusion.
But we're running low on food.
I hope you can come as soon as possible and drive him away.
Your future student, Basil Granger.
" "Haha, eat my righteous report!" Basil breathed a sigh of relief.
He patted Fanta's head, which had come closer, and fed it a piece of dried mouse.
Then he let Fanta fly away with the letter.
