After the misunderstanding was cleared up, Asakura Haruka was forced to marry Yuuki Rei because he had accidentally seen her bathing.
Late at night, Asakura Haruka had already fallen asleep. Yuuki Rei sat at the head of the bed, wrapped in a blanket, unable to sleep. Staring at the moon outside the window, she sang:
"The spirit phoenix yearns to be born,
How long the Year of the Rooster seems to stretch.
When has silver ever resembled
The sand in the courtyard, illuminated by the moon?
Yesterday flows like water,
Today buries its flowers in their graves.
May you never betray me,
And grow old by my side."
What beautiful words.
Koze Furukawa, reading this scene, felt his heart melt at the sight of the moon and the person it illuminated.
Yet, for some reason, a faint sense of sorrow lingered.
Ugh, I hate this feeling.
Why does a galgame have such a melancholic tone?
It's making me feel uneasy.
After returning from Immortal Spirit Island, the male and female protagonists embarked on their grand adventure.
Along the way, they encountered Kurai Tsuki, the daughter of a certain daimyo. She was spoiled, willful, and vivacious, and she loved to bicker with the male protagonist, Asakura Haruka.
Asakura Haruka was single-mindedly determined to become an Onmyōji, while Yuuki Rei's background was clearly not simple—she might even be the descendant of a great yokai.
Their journey was filled with laughter and joy, and they occasionally captured female yokai to subdue.
The two female protagonists were utterly endearing. Yuuki Rei was gentle and reserved, always considering Haruka's well-being, while Kurai Tsuki, despite their constant squabbling, also harbored deep affection for him, locked in a love-hate dynamic.
It was truly a delightful experience.
In fact, even now, Koze Furukawa remained completely immersed in the sweet and fantastical atmosphere of the game, completely unaware of what was about to happen next.
This game was undoubtedly the most innovative galgame Furukawa had ever played.
You could also say it was the most unique RPG.
Because while the initial main story path was fixed, everything else was fluid and unpredictable.
The game offered players a remarkable degree of freedom.
During this process, you could explore the world, discovering more heroines.
You could also interact with numerous NPCs to gather information, acquire equipment, and even obtain Shikigami...
The high degree of freedom brought genuine joy.
What particularly captivated Furukawa was the process of the male protagonist falling in love with the heroines.
It even made his heart race.
Real-world romance must feel something like this, right?
This sense of genuine, realistic romance was something other galgames on the market simply couldn't replicate.
In comparison, those games felt so crudely made—calling them trash wouldn't be an exaggeration.
Each heroine had her own main storyline, while also sharing a common one that unfolded as the narrative progressed, revealing increasingly complex plot threads.
Midway through, they encountered Oniyakihime and engaged in a fierce battle. However, after the fight ended, Yuuki Rei vanished without a trace.
Due to her uncontrollable magic, Yuuki Rei had revealed her true form: a member of the Oni Clan, with one side of her body covered in black-patterned scales and adorned with two beautiful, fleshy horns on her head.
To avoid Asakura Haruka discovering this truth, Yuuki Rei left the group alone, hoping to return to his side once her body had regained its human form.
However, she unexpectedly encountered Suwa, a renowned Onmyōji in Kyoto at the time. Mistaking the transformed Yuuki Rei for a demonic creature, he captured her and imprisoned her in the Abyssal Realm.
The Abyssal Realm was a pocket dimension created by a Formation, existing outside the normal flow of time and space. Within its timeless void, guarded and reinforced by generations of Onmyōji, were confined numerous powerful demonic creatures. To prevent their escape and the ensuing chaos, constant vigilance was required.
By then, Asakura Haruka had already fallen in love with Yuuki Rei. For the sake of their forbidden love between human and demon, he willingly entered the Abyssal Realm to rescue her.
However, his actions—destroying the core of the Formation and defeating Akemori, the Shikigami left by a Great Onmyoji a thousand years prior to guard the Abyssal Realm—triggered a catastrophic disaster.
The group escaped the Abyssal Realm as the Formation collapsed in a massive explosion. In a final act of sacrifice to save Yuuki Rei, Kurai Tsuki perished in the destruction of the Formation.
Nani?!
The controller slipped from Furukawa's hand and clattered to the floor, mirroring his shattered heart.
What kind of twisted plot is this?!
Kurai Tsuki is dead?!
His eyes went blank, and it took him a moment to process the news. Yet his heart desperately clung to the hope that this wasn't true.
He quickly snatched the controller and continued playing.
Kurai Tsuki had been rushed to Master Suwa, who found her barely clinging to life, severely injured and unconscious—effectively dead. He instructed Asakura Haruka to gather puppet worms to sustain her, but there was no telling when she might wake up.
Though his heart ached with grief, at least there was a glimmer of hope.
She's still alive, Koze Furukawa told himself, trying to find solace.
Otherwise, he would have been tempted to mail a blade to Pokeni.
After the battle, Asakura Haruka discovered that Yuuki Rei had been pregnant all along, conceived the first time he visited Immortal Spirit Island.
Due to Rei's unique constitution, Phoenix eggs and Kirin horns were required to ensure the safety of her pregnancy.
While searching for Phoenix eggs, Haruka encountered the third female protagonist of the story, Kazekage Luo.
Luo was the daughter of the White Wolf King of this region. The White Wolf Clan was currently at war with the Red Fire Clan, resulting in heavy casualties. Haruka helped Luo fight against the Red Fire Clan.
The White Wolves and Red Fire Clan were both subjects of the Moon Kingdom and should have lived in harmony. Yet, for some unknown reason, the Red Fire Clan's leader had recently gone mad and launched a relentless assault on the White Wolf Clan.
After resolving the conflict, the two visited the city's temple to pay their respects, but were instead drawn into the statue of the Witch Queen, returning ten years into the past.
Ten years prior, under duress from the Heavenly Departure Sect Leader, the Moon Kingdom's Witch King had been forced to kill the Witch Queen.
After enduring great hardship, Haruka retrieved the Witch Queen's Totsuka-no-Tsurugi and rescued her from her plight.
However, the Heavenly Departure Sect Leader unleashed the legendary immortal Yamata no Orochi to hunt them down, forcing the Witch Queen to sacrifice herself in a mutual destruction.
Haruka narrowly escaped and was sent back to his homeland by a Phoenix. There, he saved a young Yuuki Rei and her grandmother.
Having fulfilled his uncompleted wish, Asakura Haruka returned to the present.
At this point, the mystery surrounding Yuuki Rei's origins began to unravel.
It turned out Yuuki Rei was the daughter of the Witch Queen and a descendant of the Izanagi clan. Izanagi was one of the two primordial creator gods, and his descendants had lived for generations to protect all living beings and maintain the seal on Yamata no Orochi.
Now, ten years later, Yamata no Orochi was about to reappear in the mortal world.
Asakura Haruka, along with Yuuki Rei (who had recently given birth to a daughter) and Kazekage Luo, traveled to the Moon Kingdom. Their goal was to kill the Heavenly Departure Sect Leader before the seal on Yamata no Orochi could be broken.
But after defeating the Sect Leader, he forcibly merged with Yamata no Orochi, unleashing catastrophic floods upon the Moon Kingdom.
Fulfilling her duty as a descendant of the Izanagi clan and to save all living beings, Yuuki Rei seized the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi, soared into the sky, and gathered all her strength. With resolute determination, she charged toward Yamata no Orochi.
In an instant, a blinding white light illuminated the heavens and earth, as Yuuki Rei and Yamata no Orochi perished together.
The floodwaters receded, leaving the Moon Kingdom in ruins, its cities reduced to rubble.
As the sky cleared, the Totsuka-no-Tsurugi slowly descended in the golden sunlight.
The sword shimmered in the sunlight, but Yuuki Rei did not return. Asakura Haruka was consumed by grief.
Under the setting sun, Asakura Haruka bid farewell to Kazekage Luo and began his journey home.
A mournful flute melody drifted through the mountains as Kazekage Luo played him out, her heart heavy with sorrow.
Through the blinding snow, Asakura Haruka struggled forward.
Lost in the blizzard, he suddenly spotted a familiar figure waiting beneath a large tree. It was Kurai Tsuki, holding an umbrella and cradling a baby, her gaze fixed on him with deep affection, waiting for his return.
Combined with the final scene's background music from Atsushi Shirakawa's "Snow Song," the scene was utterly heartbreaking.

As the ending credits began to roll across the screen, Koze Furukawa finally snapped out of his daze.
"Nani?!"
"Yuuki Rei is dead?!"
"Aiyoh..."
"Aiyoh, you baka yarou..."
"My heart..."
Koze Furukawa clutched his chest, his heart aching with agony.
"Die!"
"Die! Die! Die! Die! Die! Die!..."
"Pokeni!"
"Die!"
