When Maya finally spoke again, her voice was much quieter, almost a whisper.
"I'm so terribly sorry, Sienna. Because of me, you've been pulled back into things with Jenny again."
Sienna smiled softly, as if Maya were standing right in front of her instead of speaking to her over the phone.
"That's exactly why I want you to move here. At the very least, that woman won't be able to get close to you or your family."
Maya remained quiet for a moment before finally responding.
"But what about your uncle? If we move there, he might lose his job. And the house..." Her voice carried clear hesitation, but beneath it, Sienna could hear a faint sense of hope. Maya clearly wanted to leave, but she was worried about the consequences for her husband and their home.
