Chapter 6: Don't You Want to Know the Secrets of the World Government?

The reason Yumesaki asked was, of course, to pinpoint the timeline of the One Piece world.

Hearing the question, Nico Robin felt a wave of confusion. These people had broken into her private quarters, yet they didn't even know where they were?

It was then that she noticed the environment behind Yumesaki—a unique, traditional Japanese living room. She knew for a fact that outside her door should have been a wide hallway.

Could it be a Devil Fruit ability that connects two separate spaces? Is that why they don't know the location?

Robin's mind raced at high speed. "This is indeed the Kingdom of Alabasta," she answered.

"Then, have you heard of the Straw Hat Pirates?" Yumesaki asked.

Robin shook her head. "Never heard of them."

"What year is it in the Sea Calendar?"

This time, Robin was genuinely shocked. It was one thing not to know the location, but to not even know the current year?

Could they really be from another world?

But a second later, she dismissed the thought. If they were from another world, how would they know about the Kingdom of Alabasta?

Robin leaned toward the theory that they had been trapped in a place isolated from the outside world and were out of touch with the times. Such people weren't rare; the sea was vast, after all. Anything was possible.

"It is the year 1520 of the Sea Calendar."

Year 1520. Yumesaki raised an eyebrow. If he remembered correctly, Luffy set out to sea in 1520. If Robin hadn't heard of the Straw Hats, it meant one of two things.

Either Luffy hadn't set sail yet and the plot hadn't begun, or he was already at sea but his reputation hadn't reached the Grand Line yet. Of course, there was also the possibility that Robin was lying, but he doubted it. At this stage, Robin had no reason to lie to protect a bunch of strangers she didn't even know.

"Thank you for the answer, Ms. Robin."

Yumesaki nodded with a smile. "Now, please follow me somewhere."

He stepped into Robin's bedroom and closed the door behind him. When he reopened the large door, the view beyond was no longer the Senju estate, but his own modern room.

Robin's eyes blinked rapidly. "Does this count as a kidnapping?" she asked, bracing herself for the worst.

"No, it's an invitation," Yumesaki said. "Doesn't Ms. Nico Robin want to know the secrets of the World Government? Or the truth about the Void Century from eight hundred years ago?"

"You know?" At those words, Robin's interest was instantly piqued.

"I don't. But I know someone who does."

"Who?"

"Eiichiro Oda."

"Who is that?"

"Come with me and you'll find out." Yumesaki stepped through the door casually and returned to his room.

Robin watched his retreating back, feeling a mix of unease and intense curiosity. Her logic told her this was likely a trap, but the mention of the World Government and the Void Century was a lure she couldn't ignore.

Furthermore, the blonde woman was still watching her like a hawk, making it clear that a 'no' might not be an option.

After weighing her choices, Robin couldn't resist the temptation. She stepped into Yumesaki's room.

Yumesaki casually tossed a volume of the One Piece manga in front of her.

"Read it."

Nico Robin looked at him blankly. Incredible. You brought me all this way just to have me read a comic book?

Yes, manga existed in the world of One Piece. The most famous was the serial published in the World Economic Journal—Sora, Warrior of the Sea. It featured a Marine hero as the protagonist fighting the evil Germa 66. It was a massive hit in the North Blue; even Trafalgar Law was a fan.

So, Robin was well aware of what a manga was.

Yumesaki smiled. "The secrets of the World Government are in there. You'll understand once you've read it."

With a healthy dose of skepticism, Nico Robin opened the One Piece manga.

She was immediately struck by something bizarre: the book used a square-shaped script she had never seen before. Yet, miraculously, she understood every word perfectly.

What kind of Devil Fruit power is this?

Driven by curiosity, she began to read, and it didn't take long for her to be completely absorbed.

At first, she didn't see anything special—just a fictional story about a boy named Luffy. But as the Straw Hat Pirates began to form, Robin started to feel an eerie sensation. The man had mentioned that name to her earlier.

Then, as the Alabasta Arc began, Robin's expression changed drastically. She saw herself appearing in the pages of the manga.

This isn't right. This isn't fiction.

She looked up at Yumesaki. He knew exactly what she wanted to say, so he just smiled. "Keep reading. You'll see."

Her eyes wavered, but she remained silent. Quelling the storm in her heart, she continued.

The Alabasta Arc ended with Crocodile's defeat at the hands of Luffy. Robin could hardly believe that Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea—a man capable of toppling a nation on his own—could lose to a rookie.

Are rookies these days really that powerful?

But the following arcs, Skypiea and Enies Lobby, made her realize that this rookie wasn't just powerful; he was a fool. A fool who dared to declare war on the entire World Government for a woman like her.

In Thriller Bark, Luffy defeated another Warlord, Gekko Moriah, making Robin feel that this man truly might be capable of carving out his own era on the seas.

Then came the Sabaody Archipelago incident, where the Straw Hats faced an unprecedented crisis and were forcibly separated.

Luffy was forced to infiltrate Impel Down alone and eventually threw the Paramount War into chaos. Unfortunately, at that time, he was too weak. He didn't even have the qualifications to participate in a battle of that scale.

However, two years later, after training under Rayleigh, Luffy gathered his crew once more. They landed on Fish-Man Island, turned Dressrosa upside down, and defeated the "Heavenly Yaksha" Donquixote Doflamingo. To rescue Sanji, Luffy even went head-to-head with one of the Four Emperors, "Big Mom" Charlotte Linlin, and successfully escaped Totto Land. He was even hailed by Morgans, the head of the World Economic Journal, as the "Fifth Emperor" of the sea.

Everything she read spoke of Luffy's immense growth over those two years. For Robin, the entire experience was nothing short of unbelievable.
