Chapter 738: The Ten-Star Game! The Angeloids' Secrets and the Dragon's Tail!
"Secretly eating?"
Icarus tilted her head, her emerald eyes blinking with innocent confusion. She held a watermelon slice in one hand, but the conversation had clearly drifted far from fruit.
"I didn't secretly eat," she stated matter-of-factly, her voice devoid of shame. "Master said I was very delicious. He also commended my internal structure. He said the... tightness... of my reactor core interface was very comfortable for him."
"???"
Nymph and Astrea froze. Their processors seemed to glitch simultaneously.
They hadn't adapted to Icarus's very direct, unfiltered denial of their accusations. The Strategic Angeloid, usually silent and reserved, had just dropped a bombshell with the casualness of discussing the weather.
The key was, how much had Icarus actually done with their Master?!
Icarus seemed so practiced. Her aura was different—softer, more fulfilled.
Envy!
Jealousy!
Both emotions were clearly expressed on their faces. Nymph's twin-tails twitched aggressively, while Astrea bit her handkerchief in frustration.
Iwanaga Kotoko, sitting nearby on a floating cushion, was also very surprised by Icarus's statement. She adjusted her beret, a gleam of intellectual curiosity mixed with perversion appearing in her single eye.
But it also fit her understanding of her man.
'He really doesn't discriminate,' Kotoko thought. 'Flesh, spirit, or machine... if it's beautiful, he claims it.'
Iwanaga Kotoko even had reason to suspect that her man was truly omnipresent. Even artificial angels—literal biomechanical weapons of mass destruction—were not spared from his conquest.
Her eyes darted around Icarus's figure, analyzing the curves that were indistinguishable from a human's. A burning question formed in her mind, one that the "Goddess of Wisdom" felt compelled to ask for the sake of science.
And this question blurted out, unfiltered.
"Speaking of which... is your artificial angel body really that similar to a human's down there? Does it function biologically? Does it tighten? Does it get wet when stimulated?"
"..."
The question was incredibly outrageous. The air in the room seemed to solidify.
The thin-skinned Nymph immediately turned into a steam engine. Her face flushed a brilliant red, and smoke practically poured from her ears.
"W-w-what kind of question is that?!" Nymph shrieked, covering her skirt.
Even the thick-skinned, bird-brained Astrea lowered her head in shame, her face burning. "That's... too lewd..."
However, the honest Icarus simply computed the query. She opened her mouth to provide a detailed technical specification.
Swoosh!
Before she could traumatize her sisters further, a spatial rift tore open in the middle of the living room.
A small figure with wild hair and a lab coat emerged from it, floating effortlessly.
Daedalus. The Creator of Synapse.
She excitedly cheered, throwing her arms up in victory. "Synapse is fully integrated! The coding is complete! From now on, the Sky City completely belongs to us!"
She looked around, her eyes sparkling. "Icarus, Nymph, Astrea! Where's Ren? I want to tell him this good news immediately!"
The artificial angels of Synapse would all belong to Ren from now on. They would obey his every command, fight his wars, and—as Daedalus secretly hoped—become the women who helped Ren relieve his stress.
In short, everything would serve Ren.
Daedalus wanted to give him everything. Her creations, her city, herself.
"Also, Synapse's production lines are active. We can continue to produce new models if Master desires..."
"Uh, Mother... Master is..."
Nymph stammered, poking Astrea in the ribs. She gave Astrea a look, wanting the close-combat angeloid to explain, as she herself was too embarrassed to say it out loud.
"..."
Astrea lowered her head, fiddling with her fingers. Normally, she was a clumsy airhead who shouted about being hungry, but when it was time to be shy about that topic, she was surprisingly modest.
Icarus, however, was bolder. She had already crossed the line, so she had nothing to hide.
"According to my sensors and the current time of day," Icarus said calmly, "Master is currently engaging in reproductive-style activities. We were just discussing the efficiency of my own performance."
"Eh?"
Daedalus blinked. She was surprised, but upon reflection, it wasn't unexpected. "So that's what it is? He's... energetic."
She floated closer to her daughters, her expression changing from a scientist to a curious mother. "So... do Icarus, Nymph, and Astrea also want to join him? Have you installed the necessary 'pleasure' modules?"
She was very curious about what her three daughters were thinking.
"Hmm..."
Nymph poked her fingers together, looking away with a pout. "Icarus has already done it. She stole the lead."
"Oh, oh!"
Daedalus nodded in relief, a proud smile appearing on her face.
Icarus, the girl who was once sealed away as the "Queen of Uranus," had finally learned to express herself. It was great that she pursued what she liked.
And looking at the flushed faces of the other two, it seemed Nymph and Astrea were also envious.
"Since that's the case," Daedalus whispered, revealing a mysterious, mischievous smile. "I'll help you all. I have some... upgrades... that Master might enjoy."
...
Meanwhile, in the Master Bedroom.
The air was thick with heat and the scent of intimacy.
"Tohru, the position where your tail connects... is very interesting."
It was the first time Ren had observed Tohru's dragon tail so closely while in her human form. The scales were warm, transitioning seamlessly from smooth skin to emerald armor.
After a day of "activity," they were resting.
Tohru happily hugged his neck, her body pressed flush against his. Her green eyes were half-lidded with bliss.
"Well, it's pretty much the same for all dragons transforming into humans," Tohru giggled, nuzzling his chest. "It's part of the anatomy."
She wiggled the thick tail, causing it to thump softly against the mattress.
"If Master doesn't like it, I'll hide my tail. I can retract it fully."
"No," Ren said, his hand sliding down her back to grip the base of the tail firmly. "Don't hide it. It's quite nice to grab it during a charge. It provides... leverage."
"Eh?" Tohru blinked, her face turning a darker shade of pink. "But Master usually grabs my twin-tails, doesn't he? Or my horns?"
"Hmm, variety is the spice of life," Ren mused, stroking the scales. "Think of it as a difference in steering wheels. Sometimes you want the sport grip."
Originally, they were just chatting, basking in the afterglow.
Suddenly, Ren's eyes narrowed.
The atmosphere in the room shifted instantly. The lazy, post-coital warmth evaporated, replaced by a sharp, cold pressure that made the air heavy.
"What's wrong?"
Tohru also sensed something was off. Her dragon instincts screamed of a spatial disturbance.
She removed her leg that was draped over him and disconnected their bodies, sitting up alertly. "An enemy?"
Ren's eyes narrowed slightly, peering through the fabric of reality. A cold sneer curled his lips.
"Heh heh. Not an enemy. An old friend has arrived."
"An old friend?" Tohru was puzzled.
A set of clothes materialized on Ren—his usual combat coat and casual wear. He stood up, buttoning his shirt.
"You rest well, Tohru. You've worked hard today. I'm going out for a bit."
"Can I help?"
Tohru also wanted to get up. Her eyes burned with loyalty. "If it's a fight, I'll burn them to ash!"
However, Ren merely leaned down, caressing her ample chest one last time before gently kissing her smooth forehead.
"Don't worry, it's just a small matter. Instead of helping me fight, I have a different mission for you."
He waved his hand, and a pile of fabric appeared on the bed.
"You should put this on and wait for me."
He took out a set of tight black leather clothes, sheer stockings, and a collar.
"Hmm, I... I understand!"
Tohru's eyes widened, then turned into hearts. Of course, she knew what these were; she had been influenced by modern knowledge (and Kobayashi's stash).
"I will be ready, Master!"
Ren smiled slightly and walked out of the room, leaving the dragon maid to her preparations.
As he stepped into the hallway, the playfulness vanished from his face.
As expected, many people were already waiting at the door, their expressions frantic.
Seeing him walk out, the Nakano quintuplets rushed forward.
Itsuki, usually composed, looked on the verge of tears. "Ren-kun! Nino and the others... they suddenly disappeared!"
Ichika also stepped forward, her face pale. "It wasn't just Nino. Miku, Yotsuba... a total of nearly 30 people vanished into thin air! It was like a glitch in reality!"
Seeing many people looking anxious, fearing an attack they couldn't see, Ren acted immediately.
He pressed his hands down in a calming gesture, releasing a wave of soothing spiritual pressure.
"Calm down."
His voice was steady, anchoring them. "Don't worry. I know exactly where they are, and I assure you, there is no danger whatsoever to their lives."
Hearing him say that with such absolute certainty, the girls felt their panic recede. They all trusted Ren unconditionally. If he said it was fine, it was fine.
Since Kie Kamado and Nezuko were also missing, Tamayo stepped forward, her demeanor elegant but worried.
"Ren-sama, where did they all go? Is it a kidnapping?"
Ren was about to speak.
[Ding!]
A notification from the Chat Group rang clearly in his ear, confirming his suspicions.
[Ding! Detected Administrator Ren has come into contact with Abnormal Doomsday factors... Doomsday Game!]
[Doomsday Companion activated!]
[Doomsday Companion]: No restriction on companions.
[Companion Time]: 10 days.
[Companions]: Ren, self-selected (pending).
[Companion Mission]: Find the source of the Ten-Star Doomsday Game!
[Companion Doomsday]: Doomsday Termination.
[Companion Time]: Unlimited.
[Companions]: Unlimited.
[Companion Mission]: Resolve the source of the Ten-Star Doomsday Game!
That's right.
The "old friend" he spoke of was the Doomsday Game. This annoying system had popped up again, not long after its first appearance.
This still surprised him slightly. A Ten-Star difficulty? That was new.
However, the reason he wasn't anxious was because he had already grasped the full extent of this Doomsday Game through his administrator privileges. Everyone's situation was within his control. They were pawns on a board he could flip at any time.
Within the Chat Group, however, there was intense discussion and panic because of this sudden event.
[Shiroyasha: What's going on? This Doomsday Companion is very strange. The parameters are all wrong.]
[Kiana: No restriction on companions? And companions self-selected pending? Does that mean anyone can get dragged in?]
[Ainz Ooal Gown: Hiss, I smell danger! This lack of restrictions usually implies a trap or a battle royale scenario.]
[Sakata Gintoki: Danger? Heh, don't you see the Ten-Star Doomsday written clearly there? That's Ten-Stars! That's like jumping from a tutorial to the final boss without saving!]
[Saeko Busujima: Ren... Ren-kun, can you tell us what we should do now? The girls are gone.]
Ren opened the interface, his fingers dancing across the holographic keyboard.
[Ren: Hmm, calm down. I'll explain everything.]
