Chapter 14 - Occult Train IV

Anna's POV

Cam held it, this is heavy. Worse than the first box. This is rectangular from the first look. Cam gave me this eye contact telling me to hold the other end, I do exactly that. Morgan's uncles show up, we pull it out halfway. Aaron got to it first, he just pulls it out slightly. Manly huh!

Peter pulls the other side, it's open. No locks or keyholes, "What's a casket doing under our house?"

Aaron takes his touch, "You guys there's more under here, sorry but I guess we've got a cemetery." What?!

I walk close to him. "What cemetery?"

"If you look carefully down there, you'll see more than eighteen to twenty caskets."

My heart just skipped, Cam, stared at the roof of the house. His eyes came down to me, he's got these eyes, He knew we were in deep trouble.

I need a break from all this, "First, we've been having attacks from things we see and can't see. Now this, a cemetery." Cam said, he's freaking out.

Aaron turned to him, "Is your dad aware of this?"

"No, I guess he's not." Peter asked from behind.

"You're sure? How did he even find this place?"

"I don't know, he didn't tell us. Also, do you have any blueprints of the house or the whole street?"

"No, but what I know is this is not good."

Peter stared into his eyes as he said, Cam replied, "What do you suggest?"

"First we find the seller of this house, then the blueprints and the direct reason for all this."

He's smart, "Then we check for the first owner, the history and why they left. That's if they left."

"So who sold the house to dad? Anna?"

"I have no idea, we should ask mom." Cam stared at me like I just blew a whole ship.

"That's too much, she'll suspect everything."

"As far as I'm concerned we're already dead enough by seeing this."

A strange silence hits us, and the wind blows. It's her and I can feel it, I see her standing behind all of us. She points to the side of the hole we dug, "You guys she's pointing to the side, there's something there."

Peter stared at me, "You can see them? Is it true?"

"Yes, I've been seeing them, Renee feels them and Cam's just immune. Well, let's look at the side."

"Alright everyone to the side." Aaron the mighty commander just landed on us like an eagle to falcons. Peter dug first, he hit something metallic. Shoot! I just remembered we have a library in the house. The duplex that is. I saw something

What if something's there? "There's another box, not a casket." He drove the sand to the side.

It's white this time, why?

"Aaron, let's pull this out, it looks like it's lighter. I think it's got books or so."

"Books buried under a house, why?"

Peter pulls it out halfway, and Aaron took the other half. "Light."

I see another keyhole on it, without a padlock as well. Wait it's open, how and why?

Aaron sees the same thing I see, "Why is this open, this means only one thing. The person's and planning to kill again."

Of course, the killer's not far away. "Cam you know she said the killer is Daniel and Daniel is us or with us."

Peter listened to the words carefully, "Wait who's Daniel?"

"We don't know." Renee said.

Aaron opened it up, I see tools stained with blood. Old and new, then a stained script underneath. It's got some words written on it. Like an agreement, like an oath. Aaron already pulled them out. We all can see hooks and knives. What's a belt doing here?

"I guess he used all this to kill them from limb to limb, he's even worse than we thought." Aaron said.

"Of course." Cam answered.

They carry it up, Cam and Renee stare at it for a long time while my eyes go to Morgan. I feel like kissing that boy, thinking about him, I don't think he's feeling the same way so I'll think I'll leave this as a normal thought. His eyes just flew my way, thankfully I turned before he saw me. He's smiling at me, I love him.

"Anna? Let's see if you can ask her more about the killings and how he did it."

"Alright."

That was Aaron speaking to me.

I see her standing, and finally, she's speaking. "He cut us part by part. From our necks to our feet, from our spleens to our knees."

Now I understand the strange lines over their bodies. Also hers too, "What about the first victim?"

"Me."

Aaron needs to hear this, "Aaron! Come see this. It's an ancient writing from the past on the wall. It's for the ritual, remember the paper we saw stained with blood from the box? The second one?"

"Yeah, so I'm guessing he had a contract with someone or something really deep. He didn't know, he killed to save his soul. At least that's what the papers said."

"So whatever he did, he did out of ignorance and foolishness? Fifteen families gone, that's not a joke."

"Neither a mistake." He said.

Peter spoke from behind, "The thing is, he exchanged his soul for wealth and he didn't know. So it's a trap, I found a third paper that briefly described his regrets. He thought fame and wealth had no price to collect. He didn't know, he was fifteen or sixteen."

"That's why he killed fifteen families and more?"

Aaron's last statement just made clear sense. He's controlled by someone, some force of some kind. This is not his making. Cam uttered, "You guys need to cover that hole up. Dad's on his way home from his trip."

Peter covered it up, and Aaron carried the box to the truck. He turned the car on, he's feeling strange. Renee covers their tracks, she sees the facial expression on Aaron. Something's wrong, even I can see it. She stared at me for some time before she turned away to the back. The clouds are gathering.

Something's wrong, it's with that box. "Wait! Peter, wait! Something's wrong, that box's got something in it. The oath is not good. The force, I can feel it, the clouds are gathering. We need to leave it here."
