Chapter 71 - A Sigil’s Glow and a Void’s Flow

The clash between the white deletion and the obsidian shield created a rift of static that blurred the edges of the Citadel. Alicia's fingers were numb, the raven-bone pen feeling like a frozen rod in her grip, but she didn't stop. As the sigil of "The Iron Memory" took shape, the black ichor beneath her feet didn't just harden; it began to hum with the voices of a thousand ancestors.

The white beam shifted, trying to find a weak point in the newly stitched reality. It flickered like a dying candle, unable to pierce the density of the memories Alicia was pouring into the obsidian.

"It's working," Nelluru gasped, her lime-green aura now reinforcing the base of the shield. "The Void can't erase what is already written in stone and blood!"

Clevatess stood slowly, the chains on his back glowing with a blinding indigo intensity. The "Butcher" form seemed to expand, his shadow stretching across the plaza until it touched the very edges of the city. He wasn't just resisting the light; he was absorbing the friction of the struggle.

With a sudden, violent twist of his torso, Clevatess yanked the chains downward. Instead of pulling the sky to him, he used the tension to catapult himself upward, toward the Sky-Fray. He became a streak of indigo fire, his spear-needle leading the way as he pierced through the white beam like a hot needle through silk.

He disappeared into the tear, leaving only a trail of black sparks behind.

The white beam vanished instantly. The billions of eyes in the sky blinked in shock, their pupils dilating as something—someone—began to attack them from the inside.

"He's gone into the source," Alicia whispered, dropping the pen as her strength finally gave out. She looked up at the Sky-Fray, where the darkness was now swirling with violent, indigo lightning. "He's not just defending anymore. He's taking the fight to the unwritten spaces."
