"Let's see what kind of tough pirate the East Blue has spat out this time!"
When Garp's peripheral vision inadvertently caught sight of the document on Sengoku's desk, his eyes lit up. He reached right over, snatched it up, and started reading.
"Hmph. It's not a pirate this time, but a rather formidable young man! Your home sea of East Blue has finally produced some news that actually pleases me for once." Seeing Garp's reaction, Sengoku sat back down and looked at him.
"Bwahaha! I definitely need to go see this kid called Shiro for myself. I have to make sure he joins the Marines!" Garp tossed the file down after finishing the report, unable to hold back his excitement. "If a kid like this becomes a pirate, he'll be a massive headache in just a few years!"
It was clear he had an incredibly high evaluation of Shiro.
"Indeed. To effortlessly wipe out a pirate with a bounty in the tens of millions at only seventeen years old... this kid is far from simple." Sengoku nodded in deep agreement.
"Well, since that's settled, I'm heading out! I'm actually really interested in this boy!" Garp was never one to drag his feet. Once he decided to do something, he just got up and left!
"Garp! Take your damn rice crackers with you, or I'm eating them all!" Sengoku's furious roar echoed behind him. The old Vice-Admiral had left his bag of snacks on the desk.
"Bwahaha! Do whatever you want! I'm off, Sengoku!" Garp waved a hand dismissively without looking back, knowing exactly what kind of temper Sengoku had.
"Sigh... this old fool. There's just no dealing with him."
After Garp left, Sengoku shook his head helplessly and settled back into his chair. He truly had no way to control Garp's 'come and go as he pleases' attitude.
Marineford Docks!
"I'll be borrowing this warship!"
Garp marched briskly onto a battleship that was just preparing to depart. He casually tossed all the assigned Marine officers and soldiers overboard, leaving only the essential sailors and navigators. Then, leaving the original crew staring in dumbfounded shock from the water, he sailed their ship right out of the harbor.
The worst part was, they couldn't even reprimand him. Who would dare? Who even had the authority?
Aside from the Fleet Admiral and the Chief Staff Officer, Tsuru, no one did. Even Admiral Aokiji was his former student. Who else would dare cause a fuss?
All the stranded Marines could do was sigh in defeat. They had no choice but to chalk it up to rotten luck.
Kuro Island.
When Aki finally woke up from her spot on the floor, she realized Shiro was nowhere to be seen. A wave of panic washed over her, and she quickly rushed outside, only to find Shiro training in an open dirt clearing.
However, the nature of his training was slightly terrifying.
A massive boulder, easily weighing several thousand pounds, was pressed flat against Shiro's back. It bobbed up and down with his rhythmic movements.
Push-ups!
Yes, this was Shiro's method of working out. The seemingly ordinary up-and-down motion was actually mobilizing every ounce of strength in his body, providing a comprehensive full-body workout.
The earth beneath him was already completely drenched in sweat, forming a small puddle. Shiro looked as though he had just been fished out of the ocean, teetering on the edge of extreme exhaustion.
