Silence spread through the immediate area near the ballroom's back doors, and nobles alongside academy students abandoned their conversations to stare at Hajin, Juna, and the crimson-eyed mage restraining them.

Most guests could not identify Shelia's intended spell, but they understood that she had pinned a Crown-sponsored Ranker and his companion during a royal banquet.

The breach of royal etiquette was too obvious for any family to excuse.

"Shelia, I am warning you!" Didi said, stepping closer despite the mana pressure.

Icy blue light gathered around her hands and lowered the temperature until frost traced the nearest wineglass.

"Taking hostile action against the Crown's sponsored Ranker is a terrible idea," she warned, putting the throne's authority behind every word.

"Back away from him now," Didi warned, holding one bright palm ready.
