The sunlit cobblestone plaza outside the grand guildhall hummed with the energetic chatter of street vendors, traveling bards, and merchants hawking exotic wares from across the realm.
As Hajin descended the steps accompanied by his loyal companions, two familiar figures stepped forward from the shade of an arched merchant colonnade.
Elise Veyron stood with her slender arms folded over her polished silver breastplate, her rapier resting neatly against her hip as her keen emerald eyes locked onto the approaching summoner.
Beside her leaned Sable, his dark leather scout's tunic adorned with throwing daggers and a supple composite bow slung across his broad shoulder.
When Elise caught sight of Hajin's transformed visage, her haughty composure slipped instantly, her jaw slacking as a vibrant blush bloomed across her porcelain cheeks.
