After a while, a soft knock came at the door, grabbing Alex's attention.
His assistant stepped in and said, "Boss… she is here."
Before Alex could respond, Veronica appeared from behind the door.
She was a very beautiful girl—long blonde hair, striking red eyes, and a flawless face.
She stepped forward.
For a moment, Alex's breath caught unexpectedly. He hadn't expected someone to be this beautiful. He quickly looked away, his cold expression returning.
"So you are Veronica," he said coldly.
It was more of a statement than a question.
Veronica nodded. "Yeah, I'm Veronica. Your dad and my dad planned this… to bring us together."
Alex's jaw tightened.
"I know," he said. "But it's just a contract marriage. Don't think I will ever love you. I already love someone else."
Veronica glanced at him, slightly uneasy. After a pause, she nodded.
"Yeah… I know."
Alex looked at her one last time, jaw clenched, and stood up.
"Fine. We'll meet on the wedding day directly. I don't want to continue this conversation."
He turned and walked upstairs without another glance.
Veronica stood there, slightly shocked by his cold behavior. She opened her mouth to say something—but stopped when she realized he wasn't even looking back.

She turned and left the mansion.

He walked to his bedside and picked it up, then called her.
The moment she picked up, his expression softened instantly.

"Hey, my princess… how are you? I really miss you."
"Oh? My boy is missing me?" Yuna teased softly.
Alex let out a rare genuine laugh.
"Princess, don't tease me… I really am missing you."
Yuna smiled. "I know… I miss you too, Alex. Everything here feels so boring without you."
Alex leaned against the wall, his voice softer than usual.
"Same here… everything feels off without you, princess."
Yuna hummed softly. "I know you do."
They talked for a while.
Then Alex's expression slowly turned serious.
"Princess… I need to tell you something."
Yuna raised her eyebrows slightly.
"Yeah, babe? What is it?"
Alex took a breath.
"Princess… I'm going to get married soon."
A pause.
Silence.
Then Yuna's voice changed instantly.
