Chapter 24 - Mysterious battle event

The aftermath of the battle in Aichi Prefecture left local authorities in a state of bewilderment. What the farmer discovered wasn't a mere accident; it was a localized zone of absolute destruction. The precision and raw power required to slice a vehicle and crater reinforced concrete suggested a level of combat reserved for the nation's elite.

The Mystery of the "Ghost Battles"

While the police searched for a "Top 30" hero who might have gone rogue or conducted an unsanctioned operation, the truth was far simpler and more terrifying. One combatant, the death row inmate Moonfish, had been beaten into a vegetative state and dumped miles away. The other, Wu Xuan, had boarded a train back to Shizuoka, his designer clothes hiding a body mapped with fresh scars—trophies of a breakthrough.

Wu Xuan's focus was singular: if One For All was out of reach, he would become a force of nature through sheer martial evolution. He began modeling his growth on a legendary power from his memories—the absolute physical dominance of Garp from One Piece. To reach that level, and to finally awaken [The World]'s time-stop, he needed more than thugs. He needed monsters.

Investigation at U.A. High

Months later, inside a secure reception room at U.A. High School, the skeletal All Might met with his long-time confidant, Detective Naomasa Tsukauchi.

"All Might, are you aware of the 'Ghost Battles' popping up across Japan?" Tsukauchi asked, laying out a series of gruesome photographs.

All Might examined a photo of an abandoned factory. The iron walls, over a meter thick, had been punched through as if by an atmospheric cannon. "This isn't the work of a skill-based hero," All Might muttered. "To do this... it would take myself, Endeavor, or perhaps the No. 10 hero, Ryukyu. But they were all elsewhere."

"We've cleared the Pros," Tsukauchi said solemnly. "This is someone off the grid. Someone incredibly familiar with how we track Quirks."

A flicker of a memory crossed All Might's mind—a boy with a golden armored Stand and a cold, ambitious gaze. Wu Xuan... no, he couldn't have grown this much in just a few months. Could he?

The Training in Kanagawa

While the top detective in the country hunted for clues, Wu Xuan was in a chaotic district of Kanagawa, leaning against a graffiti-covered wall.

A few yards away, Momo Yaoyorozu stood surrounded by four armed thugs. Her progress was staggering. In less than a second, she manifested a weighted staff, parrying a blade and sweeping an opponent's legs in a single fluid motion.

As the remaining two thugs lunged, Momo didn't flinch. She pivoted, her hands flashing with a faint pink light. Two small, high-caliber pistols appeared in her palms. Before the thugs could blink, they felt cold steel pressed against their skulls.

"Um... Big Brother," one of the thugs stammered, looking at Wu Xuan. "We did the training... can we go now?"

Wu Xuan waved a dismissive hand. The criminals fled as if the devil himself were chasing them.

"Your form was good today," Wu Xuan said, walking toward her. "You're reacting before they can even think to use their Quirks. That's all I can teach you for now."

Momo felt a pang of disappointment. Does that mean our time together is over? She had grown used to the shadow he cast—a shadow that was dangerous, yes, but also strangely grounding.

The Confrontation

When they returned to the Yaoyorozu estate, they were greeted by an unexpected sight: All Might (in his muscular form) and Detective Tsukauchi were waiting in the grand hall.

"Actually," Tsukauchi began, spreading the "Ghost Battle" photos on the coffee table, "we're here to discuss a series of unsanctioned high-level engagements."

Momo's heart hammered against her ribs as she looked at a photo of a forest they had trained in just weeks prior. The realization hit her like a physical blow: by following Wu Xuan's "practical" training methods, she hadn't just been practicing—she had been an accomplice to a series of illegal vigilante actions.

I... I think I've committed a crime, she thought, her face turning pale as she looked toward Wu Xuan.

A single relevant follow-up question:

Do you think Wu Xuan will attempt to lie his way out of the Detective's questioning, or will he openly challenge the "peace" that All Might and the police are trying to protect?
