Chapter 170 - Two New Classmates

Ren Isana and the other boys didn't have much to worry about. Shouldering their Spatial Backpacks, they walked right out.

Seeing Ren Isana and the others leaving, Asuna and the girls had no choice but to pull parasols from their Spatial Backpacks to block the fierce sun.

They didn't want to get tanned right after arriving. Among the girls, only Aria and the others from another world didn't care about the intense sunlight.

The Amazon twins, in particular, absolutely loved it. This kind of environment was perfectly suited for them, so the two dashed straight out to bask in the sun.

The group left the hotel and, led by Ren Isana, headed toward the nearby Dimensional Nexus University. They had already figured out the university's exact location the night before.

From their hotel, they could see the university grounds. It was only about a ten-minute walk, not far at all.

Nexus Island was bustling in the morning. Along the way, the sights left everyone amazed. While some things looked similar to the outside world, there were far more robots and automated machines moving about.

For instance, large street-sweeping robots cleaned the roadsides, and the traffic lights used holographic warning signs. On top of that, silent drones could occasionally be seen gliding through the sky.

The entire city gave off a heavy sci-fi vibe. Of course, if you could ignore the Magic Circles occasionally flashing at storefront entrances, it truly looked like a metropolis of the future.

"I feel like a total country bumpkin!" Sora couldn't help but complain as she watched a robot roll past. The technological gap between this place and their home was way too massive, wasn't it? Many of these things were concepts they had only ever seen on TV, yet they had spotted them all just by stepping outside today.

Did the world really develop this fast? When did they enter the future? Why didn't she know about this?

"Well, it is an island that connects to so many different worlds. It's only normal for the technology to be a bit more advanced!" Kumo, walking beside her, couldn't help but chuckle at Sora's grumbling.

Although she was equally shocked, considering the unique nature of this place, it wasn't hard to understand. It would be weirder if it *wasn't* special.

"I guess you're right. Maybe it connects to a highly advanced sci-fi world, and they developed this place into what it is over just a dozen years." Hearing that, Sora immediately felt it made sense.

As they chatted, the red light turned green, and the holographic projection in front of them vanished, signaling that they could cross the street. Seeing this, the group quickly moved forward.

Once everyone had crossed, the red light lit up again. Noticing this, the group was a bit surprised. Leo remarked in amazement, "Is this smartly managed? The moment we all crossed, it turned red, and earlier, it only turned green after the cars had passed."

He had been watching very closely. It only turned green when the traffic had mostly cleared, and now that they were safely across, it immediately turned red again.

"It's normal. Nothing here should surprise you. Come on, let's go, the university is just ahead." Kai, walking next to him, patted his shoulder and sped up to catch up with Ren Isana and the others.

Hearing his words, Leo shook his head and didn't dwell on the matter. They had already seen many things today that they had never witnessed in their entire lives. There would probably be even more shocking things waiting for them in the future.

The group turned a corner and were greeted by the sight of a majestic, imposing gate. Ren Isana glanced at the distant university entrance and couldn't help but comment, "It kind of... looks like a subway station."

Hearing this, everyone took a closer look and nodded in strong agreement. It really did look like a subway station, especially with the large characters reading *Dimensional Nexus University* hanging above the main gate!

If those words were swapped out for "Central Terminal" or "South Station," anyone arriving would be completely fooled, right? Especially with the large crowds of people currently streaming in and out.

Still, everyone knew that this was where they would be living from now on. They quickened their pace and headed straight for the main gate.

As they got closer, they got a clearer view of the situation. Outside the gate, many newly arrived students, as well as returning upperclassmen, were bustling about.

A specific area had been cordoned off, marked by a massive sign that read *New Student Reception*. Spotting the sign, Ren Isana and the group walked right over.

The area was lively. Aside from the students registering today, there were quite a few parents, as well as upperclassmen acting as guides.

The sudden appearance of Ren Isana's group of over forty people immediately surprised the senior girls working at the reception. A few of them quickly came over to greet them.

"Hello there, are you all here to register?" one of the senior girls asked, looking at Ren Isana and the group with curious eyes. It was her first time seeing such a massive group arriving together to enroll.

Hearing the senior's question, Ren Isana pulled out his admission notice and said, "We're all from the same class. Here are our notices. Are there any procedures we need to complete?"

Seeing Ren Isana casually flip his hand to produce the notice, a flash of surprise crossed the senior girl's eyes. *Is that a Spatial Ring?* At the same time, she noticed that the bags the students were carrying looked exactly like Spatial Backpacks—and they were products manufactured right here at the university.

Though slightly shocked, the senior girl quickly slipped back into professional mode. She glanced at the admission notice Ren Isana handed her and froze. Why did their notices look different from everyone else's?

Uncertain, she took Ren Isana's notice and examined it. *Special Elite Class Freshmen... Is there even such a class?* Filled with doubt, she directly channeled Magic Power into the notice.

The next moment, the university's official seal appeared, accompanied by... the Director's signature? Seeing these two marks, the senior girl's pupils shrank. She hurriedly handed the notice back to Ren Isana and said, "Please wait a moment, I'll go get a teacher."

These students were clearly above her pay grade to handle, and the reception team hadn't received any prior notice about such a large group arriving.

After returning the notice, the senior girl hurried off. Ren Isana and the others exchanged bewildered glances. Did their admission notices actually have hidden functions like that?

The senior girl's actions left Asuna and the others stunned. Only Ren Isana found it normal; the moment he had received the item, he had noticed the unique material it was made of.

After all, anything produced here wouldn't be some cheap, mass-produced garbage. In fact, if they looked closely, they would realize the signature belonged to Director Ken. Simply put, these notices had been personally issued by the Director himself.

The senior girl who had left quickly returned, bringing along a very young-looking teacher wearing glasses. Stepping up to Ren Isana's group, the teacher asked, "Is your homeroom teacher Natsuki-sensei?"

Hearing her question, Ren Isana immediately nodded. "Yes, Natsuki Minamiya. Where should we go to complete our registration procedures?"

The moment she mentioned the name Natsuki, Ren Isana understood that this teacher was likely in charge here. The student receptionists clearly had no idea about their group's situation.

"There's no need for any procedures. Everything has already been handled for you. You can just use your admission notices to enter. Also, your dormitories have already been assigned. You're all housed together in Area C, Zone 4." Having confirmed their identities, the teacher quickly relayed the information.

Everyone silently memorized the details. After speaking, the teacher pulled out a QR code and added, "If you're worried about getting lost, you can download this app. It has a built-in navigation system."

Hearing this, the group pulled out their phones, scanned the QR code, and began downloading the app. Only after everyone had finished scanning did she put the code away.

"That's about it. You can head straight inside now. Just swipe your admission notices at the security gates. Once you get to your dorms, other teachers will be there to make further arrangements for you," the teacher concluded.

Ren Isana nodded and politely replied, "Thank you for the information, Sensei. Sorry for the trouble."

After thanking her, Ren Isana prepared to lead everyone into the university. The app required an ID to log in. Ren Isana entered his ID and phone verification, and his student profile immediately popped up.

This meant that their information had already been pre-registered into the university's system. As for the app's other features, Ren Isana wasn't in a rush to explore them. He planned to get inside and find their dorms first.

"Shen-sensei, the admission notices for these two students are a bit special," a male upperclassman called out, leading two young girls over just as Ren Isana was about to leave.

"Shen-sensei" was naturally the young female teacher who had just spoken with Ren Isana. Hearing the upperclassman's words, Ren Isana and the others turned to look.

Upon seeing the two beautiful girls, many of the classmates' eyes lit up. They also noticed that the admission notices in the girls' hands looked identical to their own.

Shen-sensei glanced at the notices the two girls were holding and said, "You're just in time. You're all in the same class. They're heading to the dormitories right now, so you can go with them."

Shen-sensei then repeated the same instructions she had just given Ren Isana. After hearing her explanation, the two girls looked at Ren Isana's group in astonishment.

The pink-haired girl, in particular, looked at the group and instantly tensed up as if facing a deadly enemy. *Good grief, what kind of terrifying monsters are these people?* Especially that handsome guy leading them... he gave off an aura that suggested he could kill her effortlessly!!

"New classmates? Are you in the Special Elite Class too?" Sora's eyes sparkled as she looked at the two beauties, immediately stepping up to ask.

These two new classmates looked great. One seemed very gentle, but the other looked a bit nervous? What was going on?

"Yes... I didn't expect to run into everyone here. We're in that class too." The pink-haired girl suppressed her tension and nodded.

"Then we're classmates from now on! I'm Sora, nice to meet you!" Sora greeted them with her usual friendly and outgoing demeanor.

Hearing her name, the two silently memorized it. The pink-haired girl then introduced herself, "I'm Shikimori. Please take care of me."

"Hello everyone, I'm Mahiru Shiina. It's a pleasure to meet you," the blonde girl followed up with her own introduction.

Hearing those two names, Ren Isana couldn't help but take a second look. *So it's them.* Pink hair... was actually quite rare, and someone with such a cool, valiant aura was even rarer. It could only be her.

"Since we're in the same class, let's go together. Our dorms are all in the same area," Ren Isana said casually before turning and walking toward the entrance.

Seeing this, the others quickly followed. The two newcomers exchanged a glance before grabbing their luggage and falling into step with the group. Sora enthusiastically struck up a conversation with them.

"The one who just spoke is Ren Isana. He's the class rep for our group, and barring any surprises, he'll be your class rep from now on too," Sora chattered away, introducing him to the two.

She was absolutely certain about this. It didn't matter who else showed up—if anyone else tried to be the class rep, they'd be joking. Did they think this entire group of veterans didn't exist?

Was there anyone in the class who didn't completely trust and respect Ren Isana? Ever since they became part of the Special Class, everyone had been looked after by him. If they had to elect a new class rep for university...

She didn't care about anyone else, but Ren Isana *had* to continue being their class rep. Following him was the only thing that made her feel completely secure, and this was a consensus the entire class had reached long ago.

"Huh? Class rep? It's already been decided this fast?" Shikimori was a bit bewildered by Sora's words. School had barely started, and the class rep was already chosen?

"Yeah, we were actually all in the same class for our last semester of high school, and then the entire class got accepted into Dimensional Nexus University together. Ren Isana has always been our class rep," Sora explained openly, not hiding anything.

The implication was clear: this Special Class had existed from the very beginning, and the two of them were simply late additions. Both girls instantly understood the underlying message.

"I see!" After hearing Sora's explanation, they felt relieved. No wonder so many of them had arrived together. They had been in the same class since their senior year of high school?

That meant the two of them were the newcomers, and the majority of the class was already here. Shikimori looked at the surrounding classmates. Sensing her gaze, everyone offered her a friendly smile.

This scene made Shikimori breathe a sigh of relief. This group didn't seem hard to get along with at all. Mahiru Shiina felt it even more strongly—no one showed any signs of rejecting or excluding them.

There was only curiosity and anticipation. And then there was the class rep, who had looked at them with a flash of recognition. What a strange feeling.

Sora began introducing the classmates to them, going through all the girls' names one by one before moving on to the boys. Chatting along the way, the group arrived at the security gates.

Walking at the front, Ren Isana looked at the turnstiles. Just like the others passing through, he took out his admission notice and swiped it over the sensor. The gate instantly opened, and his profile picture appeared on the screen to the side.

Glancing at the information, Ren Isana didn't think much of it and walked right through. The screen displayed his university profile, with a line of text at the bottom reading *Registration Complete*.

The others closely followed his lead, swiping their notices and entering the campus. Past the gates lay a wide, expansive road. Ren Isana pulled out his phone to check the navigation. After confirming the route and distance, he stopped.

"It looks a bit far, so we'll need to speed up. We're allowed to use magic and skills on campus. You two new classmates over there, have you learned [Lightness Technique]?" Ren Isana turned to look at the group, his gaze primarily landing on Shikimori and Mahiru Shiina.

"We have!" Shikimori hurriedly replied upon hearing Ren Isana's question. Mahiru Shiina also nodded. They had learned it, but were they really going to use it just to travel across campus?

"As long as you've learned it, we're good. Let's head out. Area C is still several kilometers away..." Speaking of which, Ren Isana couldn't help but inwardly complain. This university was way too massive.

If they didn't use magic, walking those few kilometers would take a long time. Ren Isana figured no one wanted to bake in the sun any longer than necessary, so he decided they should just sprint there.

"Class rep, wait a sec! They still have their suitcases. Can you help them out?" Sora suddenly called out just as Ren Isana was about to leave.

Hearing her, Ren Isana glanced at the two girls. They didn't have Spatial Backpacks; they were using standard rolling suitcases, and they had brought quite a lot of stuff. Compared to Ren Isana's group, these two actually looked like normal students arriving for college.

Hearing Sora's request, Shikimori was just about to politely decline when she saw Ren Isana step forward and instantly store their suitcases away. The sight left both Shikimori and Mahiru Shiina stunned.

"A Spatial Ring?" Seeing the ring on Ren Isana's hand, both girls were shocked. Was Ren Isana some kind of wealthy heir? To think he actually possessed equipment like that.

"Let's go. We'll talk once we get there," Ren Isana said without explaining. After storing their luggage, he took off. Seeing this, the others quickly followed, and the group departed from the entrance.

Seeing everyone moving out, Sora waved the two girls over. "Come on! If you have any questions, we can chat about them once we reach the dorms!"

With that, Sora hurried to catch up with Ren Isana and the others. Mahiru Shiina and Shikimori exchanged a glance before quickly activating their [Lightness Technique] to follow the group. In truth, there were quite a few people traveling across the campus just like Ren Isana's group.

After all, the campus was so enormous that if you weren't proficient in using this magic, it would take forever to get anywhere. This was probably the most frequently used magic in the entire university.
