Chapter 296 - JTH Chapter 296: I Guess This Counts as Direct Enlistment

Ren Isana looked at the intensely curious Utaha Kasumigaoka and couldn't help but explain, "I need to make a trip to the director's office next, so you should hurry up and get to class, Senpai!"

Utaha was a bit surprised to hear that. *He's going to see the director?* That was quite a big deal. In her eyes, the director of this university was a massive VIP, yet Ren could apparently just drop in to see him whenever he pleased.

"Is that so? Then I won't bother you anymore, Junior. Go do your thing, and we'll chat later when you're free~!" Utaha nodded understandingly. With a wave goodbye, she headed off toward her classroom to prepare for her lecture.

Watching her leave, Ren smiled and didn't think much more of it. He quickened his pace toward Director Ken's office. Although this was his first time visiting, the campus map was already firmly imprinted in his mind.

The moment Ren arrived, Director Ken's voice rang out from inside. "Come in, the door's unlocked!"

The director had already sensed his presence. Ren pushed the door open and walked right in, finding Director Ken seated at his desk, sorting through a stack of documents.

He paused his work as Ren entered. "Have a seat. Don't stand on ceremony, just make yourself at home. I'll be right with you after I finish these files~!"

With that, Director Ken lowered his head and resumed his paperwork. Ren didn't interrupt, simply taking a seat by the coffee table to the side. About five or six minutes later, the director finally came over and sat down across from him.

He looked at Ren with a mild, gentle expression. "You really stirred up some massive news for me, kid. That giant creature floating in the sky—you brought that back from the unreleased world, didn't you?"

Just as expected, Director Ken was asking about Avant Heim. How could he possibly ignore an incident like what happened yesterday?

Faced with the inquiry, Ren nodded and began to explain the situation. "That's a Phantasmal Species from another world. The city on its back is home to a race created by the God of War from that universe."

Ren slowly detailed the background of the Flügel. In truth, Director Ken had probably already investigated most of this; Ren was simply giving him the official rundown.

Once Ren finished his explanation, Director Ken nodded. "How do you plan to arrange things for that race? Are you going to have them stationed on our side from now on?"

A race born exclusively for slaughter—absolute war machines. Under normal circumstances, they likely wouldn't have even been allowed to enter this world, but now, they belonged to Ren.

In other words, they were on the same side, which offered some peace of mind. Furthermore, Ren had already used them in a massive battle, allowing Pandora to reap significant benefits. The World Will was currently brewing something big, which was undoubtedly a good thing.

Hearing the director's question, Ren shared the decision he had already made. "If they want to come down and play in our world, I'll let them. But they aren't allowed to cause trouble. If they do, I'll send them right back."

Director Ken nodded. That wasn't an issue. In fact, anyone brought into this world was generally permitted to move about freely; the main concern was simply preventing them from wreaking havoc.

"Their combat power is actually quite impressive. If we ever encounter a world that requires large-scale team battles in the future, having them help out will undoubtedly make them our most capable assistants. So, I'm hoping you can help secure some proper benefits and treatment for them, Director~!" Ren finished speaking and quietly watched the older man.

Director Ken let out a soft chuckle. "Of course. As long as they contribute, the treatment they receive out here absolutely won't be lacking."

He pondered for a moment before continuing. "How about I apply for an official military unit designation for them? They won't be required to do any menial tasks, and they'll remain entirely under your command. Their primary purpose will be conquering new worlds. During peacetime, they can roam freely wherever they please, but if a war breaks out, they'll be expected to contribute their strength."

Director Ken paused briefly before adding, "As for their compensation, we'll set it at the absolute highest tier. Furthermore, you'll be allowed to keep half of all the profits gained from exploring new worlds. We'll also officially incorporate all the students from your class into this unit."

The special class would completely transition into a Special World Conquest Unit. Their sole responsibility would be clearing worlds—whether that meant conquering an entire world by force or adopting other methods, the choice would be entirely up to Ren and his team.

Meanwhile, the university and the higher-ups would handle cleaning up the battlefields and managing the aftermath. Ren now possessed more than enough strength to pull this off, and with the addition of the Flügel, he was fully capable of holding his own on a grand scale.

Truth be told, Ren's growth speed had genuinely given the director a fright. How long had it been since this kid awakened? It had only been a little over a year since the third-year high school class division, yet he had already reached this terrifying level.

Covering a distance in a single year that others couldn't traverse in a lifetime—and even showing faint signs of surpassing the very limits of this world. It was undeniably terrifying. It seemed his special decision back then had been the right call.

Ren's eyes lit up at the arrangement. He immediately agreed, saying, "I have no objections to that setup. From now on, Avant Heim can serve as the official base for our unit!"

In fact, this couldn't be any better. It was essentially granting Ren full autonomy and authority. Whenever a new Dimensional Rift appeared in the future, Ren would be able to step in and explore it immediately.

With terms like that, what reason did he have to refuse? Naturally, he accepted without hesitation.

Seeing his agreement, Director Ken nodded. "Alright then. I'll get these matters sorted out for you as quickly as possible. You go ahead and make the necessary arrangements for your Flügel."

Having said that, Director Ken suddenly remembered something. He looked at Ren and added, "If you don't have anything pressing going on recently, you should head back to the high school for a visit. You can check in on your future new members while you're at it!"

The implication instantly made Ren realize that the special class Asuna had mentioned before was still running, and it had even taken in quite a few new students. With that in mind, Ren nodded. "Alright, got it."

*Go back for a visit? Sure, why not.* He could just bring Hestia along. Once he assessed the situation and confirmed there were no issues, he'd have Hestia bestow her Blessing on them. After that, he could arrange some combat trials to help them rapidly boost their strength.

After all, the combat power of Ren's class had been forged through exploring one world after another. Even though Ren had essentially been dragging everyone else along at a breakneck pace, their actual strength was no joke.

Even without Ren accompanying them now, everyone was capable of holding their own. Therefore, if these new students were going to be his future teammates, Ren wanted them to elevate their strength as well.

Bestowing Falna upon them and tossing them into the Dungeon to explore would be a pretty solid plan. However, they probably wouldn't have it as easy as Ren's original batch did.

After all, Ren's group had always had him there as a safety net, ensuring they never faced any truly fatal danger. The same couldn't be said for this new special class—unless they happened to have a massive cheat character of their own!

After finishing his discussion with Director Ken, Ren left the office and used `[Spatial Teleportation]` to return to Avant Heim. The Flügel were currently bustling about, continuously transcribing the vast amounts of knowledge they had acquired.

Seeing Ren arrive, Jibril hurriedly stopped what she was doing and asked, "How did it go? How did it go? Can we go down and play now? Don't tell me we aren't allowed to go anywhere outside of Avant Heim!"

At this, Jibril stared intently at Ren. If that were truly the case, she was definitely going to throw a fit. Even if this world didn't have the same restrictions, being locked up on Avant Heim would be no different from being back in their old world!

The other Flügel also paused their work and turned to look at Ren, waiting for his answer. Every single one of them wanted to go down and play.

Seeing this, Ren shrugged. "It's all been arranged. You're free to move about in this world, but in exchange, you'll have to help me explore new worlds in the future."

Ren relayed the details of his conversation with Director Ken. Upon hearing his words, the Flügel immediately erupted into cheers. *There's actually such a good deal? We get to follow Ren to explore new worlds?*

That was absolutely wonderful! Besides, wasn't it only natural for them to obey Ren? After all, Lord Artosh had gifted them all to him!

"Yay! Then we're going down to play! I've been wanting to go down since yesterday!!" As soon as Ren finished speaking, some of the Flügel dropped their work and prepared to charge outside.

Seeing this, Ren quickly called out a warning. "Remember, don't cause trouble! If you cause trouble, you can forget about ever roaming around this world again! Also, all of you need to go get registered!"

Ren looked at the group with a bit of exasperation. If he really let them charge down just like that, it would probably cause chaos. Therefore, he decided he'd better accompany them and take them to Dimensional Nexus University to get everything properly sorted out.

Hearing Ren's words, the Flügel obediently complied, flocking over and gathering around to wait for his instructions. They definitely didn't want to be restricted!

Once all the Flügel had gathered, Ren used `[Spatial Teleportation]` to bring the entire flock down to the plaza of Dimensional Nexus University. He then hurriedly contacted Natsuki Minamiya.

He asked her to find some people to help register all of their information. On top of that, Ren equipped each of them with a smartphone and transferred some money into their newly opened bank accounts.

Having explored so many worlds, Ren had long since stopped lacking money. Coupled with his ongoing partnership with Baoshutang, a steady stream of funds poured in every quarter. He didn't even know how long the string of digits in his bank account was anymore.

Even if he handed out a million to each of the over eighteen thousand Flügel, the funds he had on hand would still be more than enough. As such, he was quite generous in giving each of them a hefty sum.

As for the smartphones, Ren only had to give them a brief tutorial before the Flügel mastered them. After all, they weren't ancient relics; how could they not understand such simple devices?

By the time Ren finished sorting out all the Flügel's affairs, an entire day had passed. Once the Flügel got their money, they immediately ran off, starting to play and explore all over Nexus Island. The sudden arrival of so many Flügel at Dimensional Nexus University also caused quite an uproar among the students. This race that looked like angels—yet clearly weren't—was simply too intriguing!
