Jason
He was dressed in black like a stereotypical undercover or a villain. A hoodie over his head.
I stared at him consumed with shock.
"What? It is me Jason." He said placing both his hands on his waist.
I stood up slowly, still keeping my gaze,
"Jason?" I said the hugged him tightly.
Though, Jason and I were not as close as I was with Nathan but we were pretty cool. He is someone who you would love to make your friend.
"How come? I asked freeing him from the hug.
"That, I can not explain now, but I want you to meet me, usual location, normal time." He said then turned to leave. He walked down the staircase a bit, turned, ran back then hugged me. "I miss you brother." He said smiling and his eyes so watery.
He ran back to the staircase, then pause, turned to me and said; "Come with Jane." After which he turned and left.
But why Jane? I thought.
Jane, though stubborn and rigid, she doesn't seem like someone who would take to Jason or even want to move with him. They are like the same thing.
Another striking thought was that, where had Jason been all these while. He just vanished, nobody knows what happened to him, where he went, all that we knew was that he was gone.
Still wallowing in my thought, someone tapped me, I looked up and saw Vivian.
"Thinking?" She said then offered me a hand.
She helped me up.
"Yeah, a bit." I replied her.
"Well, there is no need to do much thinking. Jane is awake." She responded smiling.
"Seriously??" I said then went inside.
Indeed she was right, Jane was seated on the bed, a drip needle in her left hand, Nafisat seated on the same bed as her.
"You are awake?" I said as I walked towards her.
"He carried you here." Nafisat added but all Jane did was smile.
I did not tell Jane about seeing Jason immediately because Nafisat was there and she was the last person I would trust not after the stunt she pulled today.
I offered to speak with Jane alone but Nafi replied with;
"If you want to ask her out, do that later not now, " She replied turning down the offer. I knew I needed another strategy.
After a while, Vivian joined us. We all sat and listened to Nafiat talk about different things that nobody cared about, well it seems like Jane was more interested in what Nafi had to say.
The Doctor, Miss Sharon came in after like half an hour.
"Hello everyone. " She entered smiling. "We usually don't allow more than one visitor at a time."
"They are all in love with me." Jane responded teasing. She looked at me and our eyes met like it was planned or the message was directed to me.
"Well, you all have to leave. I need to speak with Jane alone." Miss Sharon said looking at us.
Vivian and I stood up to leave.
"Can I stay? We are bestfriends." Nafi said holding Jane's needle hand.
"Sure." Miss Sharon agreed.
Not to lie, I was so disappointed, I wished Nafisat got kicked out.
Vivian and I walked out and then sat at the reception which was empty.
"You in love with her," Vivi (Vivian) said as soon as we sat down.
"Why would you say that?" I replied nervously.
"I don't judge you at all. I think she does do." She said smiling
"Really?" I said happily and full of excitement. "ehmm.." I cleared my throat, adjusted my seat and tried to look serious.
"You think so?"
"I know so but she wont act on it anytime soon, so you've got a lot of work to do." She replied.
"What do I do?" I asked trying my best not to sound so desperate.
Miss Sharon walked in with a file in her hand.
"How is she ma? Hope it is not love sickness." She said then winked.
To be honest I was so confused but seeing Miss Sharon nod her head like she got the message made me drown in confusion.
"She is better, though she still have to come for some regular check ups. She will be discharged today."
"If you don't mind, he has something to tell her...trust me it might speed up her healing." Vivi added laughing, Miss Sharon as well giggled.
"Sure. I will tell Nafi…."
"Nafisat can not know about this." I said cutting her off.
"Sure." Miss Sharon walks over to Jane's ward.
After a while, Nafisat leaves the clinic smiling.
"I will be back." She said then closed the door.
I stared at Miss Sharon as she walked in waving at Nafisat.
"How did you do that?" I asked so impressed.
"Sent her on an errand." She said smiling. "Go in, be very fast because she has to be discharged in an hour." Miss Sharon added.
"Yes ma. Thank you very much." I said happily.
A random junior students entered, walked over to the counter. He walked in leaping like his left leg was affected but when he walked over to the counter, it was his right leg.
I ignored it, told Vivi to be on the look out for Nafi. Then brushed my hair a little then went to meet Jane.
"Hi." She said as she sits up. "I would be discharged in an hour time. Also, thank you for today." She added.
Her apology caught me off guard because she was not the type to apologize because she is so used to rage baiting that no good words come out of her mouth.
"I have something to say" We said in unison. She smiled but I kept a straight face.
I should have smiled, it would have made things a lot easier.
"You go first." I offered.
"Na, I want to hear what you want to say." She said.
"Okay then. I saw Jason. I know you may not believe me but to be honest…."
"I believe you." She replied cutting in as she placed her left hand on mine then staring straight into my eyes.
I cleared my throat, removed her hand carefully then said; "He wants to meet us. Will you be able to come?"
"Yes, I should."
I stood up happily then turned to leave.
I paused, turned back.
"Does Nafi know about this?" I asked as I walked towards her.
"No, not yet."
"How did you meet him?" I asked further.
"It is quite complicated." She replied then pressed her lips against each other.
"Okay then."
"Andrew!" Jane called out softly. "If you don't see me early then come for me. Also where should I meet you?"
"Dormain's Hall. The same place you saw me and we talked by 7 this evening. 1900" I added.
She replied with a nod and I with a smile and then I left.
On my way back to the reception, I saw the doctor. I gave a gave bow, she smiled and continued her journey.
At the reception, I met Vivi still waiting.
"Hi V." I called and she immediately stood up.
"How did it go?" She asked smiling so much which made me smile as well.
"IT went well. Lets go."
"Buttt.."
"Her best friend will come for her." I sad sarcastically.
She replied with a nod then we left together. I walked Vivi back to her dorm which made her a so surprised and happy. On her way to the dorm, she kept talking about how she started her information business as she calls it then to series of other things I really cant remember because they were just a whole lot.
On my way back to my dorm since going to class feels so pointless. The whole scene kept replaying in my head. The part she fell, I had to carry her the panic.
Dammmm it was a lot. I thought.
The part I couldn't just get straight was when Nafi offered to get the school nurse or a doctor then vanished and came back with an unnecessary story. It was like she wanted Jane gone.
The more I tried to suppress the thought the more it got the upper hand in my head.
Not just that, Jane acted all so nice and calm which is so unusual. Though, the episode she had may be a the reason for her weird behaviour.
On getting to my room, I set my alarm for 6:15, 6:20, 6:23 and like four more then went straight to dream land.
When it was time, I woke up before the alarm could ring. I turned it off then prepared to meet Jason and Jane.
I got to the Dormain Hall entrance around few minutes to 19:00. I waited at the Dormain Hall's entrance for about 25 minute. I knew something like this would happen, so I went to the bathroom to change then head for her dorm.
When I walked Vivi to female dorm, I collected some pairs of women clothes, shoes and wig. I also asked for the direction of Jane's room because they were in the same dorm.
I walked in looking like a girl, though not so perfect and flawless but enough to fool the hall mistress and the CCTV camera's in the hall.
I walked into the hall with my head bowed so it would cover my face.
"Good Evening ma." I greeted the hall mistress with a high pitch.
"How are you doing?" She replied.
I walked in hurriedly. I got confused. When Vivi was explaining it was a lot easier to picture than work it out. There were doors everywhere after the staircase.
Nafisat comes out of a room….
"Yess!" I said as I hid from her.
I hurried into the room she just came out of and yes it was Jane's room.
At the moment I entered, she was about to change. She's got her shirt almost removed.
She paused and stared at me.
Nervously, I turned faced the door then said, "Ohh sorry about that." Still with a high pitch.
"Andrew?"
I turned back at her.
"I am sorry. I didn't see…."
"Use the high pitch please." Jane said looking not so surprised.
"kay." I answered in high pitch.
Jane laughed instead. I really hoped Vivi was right about Jane.
"I get. Face the wall." She said pointing to the wall.
"Why?"
"Because I want you to watch me dress up." She replied sarcastically.
At first I did not get what she meant,
"Ohhhh okayy." I said after realizing it, then turned to face the wall while she dressed.
She apologized for beung late and making me wear a weird cloth just to come meet her. She also said she fell into a trance when she blacked out. There she was Jason or maybe it was before that, according to her she was not so sure.
"Full gist at the Dormain Hall." She said then tapped me on the shoulder.
We the left the dorm together.
