Chapter 91 - Chapter 90: Night Parade

Chapter 90: Night Parade

"The plan needs to be adjusted."

Toho Hiroshi slowly closed his eyes, and a subtle connection formed between his consciousness and the massive Gedo Statue.

The nine tightly shut eyes of the statue seemed to tremble slightly.

His original plan was to steadily develop the Star Plasma Cult and accumulate power.

But now, he saw a faster path, though this path was more perilous and full of variables.

However, with the power of the Rinnegan and Mangekyo Sharingan, and his 'foreknowledge' of this world, he was confident he could control the situation, or at least guide it in a direction favorable to him.

"Kenjaku's conspiracy, and those 'old fossils' who are about to appear..."

A cold arc formed on Toho Hiroshi's lips beneath the swirl mask. "Dance to your heart's content. Use your struggles and madness to forge the staircase to my 'ideal world'."

"When all the curses converge into a river and flow into the Gedo Statue's mouth, that will be the moment when the light of the Infinite Tsukuyomi bathes the earth."

"And that moment will no longer be distant."

He turned, his figure once again merging into the Kamui's vortex. Next, he needed to talk to Suguru Geto... The Kamui's vortex silently unfolded in Suguru Geto's private room, and Toho Hiroshi stepped out.

Suguru Geto stood with his back to him, by the window, seemingly having just finished a meeting with core members of the Star Plasma Cult. A faint trace of lingering discussion still hung in the air.

"Suguru."

Toho Hiroshi spoke, his voice somewhat deep through the swirl mask.

Suguru Geto turned around, a hint of fatigue on his face, but more so a determined calm.

He waved his hand, setting up a simple soundproof Barrier, then looked at Toho Hiroshi and said directly, "Toho, you're here. Good, there's something I need to tell you."

He paused, his tone steady yet with an undeniable resolve: "I'm preparing to start cleaning up those monkeys. And, not long ago, I officially declared war on Jujutsu High."

The air in the room seemed to freeze instantly.

Even through the mask, Suguru Geto could feel the sudden chilling aura emanating from Toho Hiroshi.

"What did you say?"

Toho Hiroshi's voice turned cold, laced with incredulous anger. "You made such a decision without my consent? Suguru, do you know what this means?"

"Of course, I know."

Suguru Geto met his invisible gaze, a faint, almost desolate smile even playing on his lips. "It means I will completely embark on a path of no return, it means I will become the public enemy of the entire Jujutsu World, it means Satoru will kill me with his own hands."

He took a step forward, his gaze sharp as he looked directly into the eyes beneath the mask: "But isn't this one of the 'outcomes' you foresaw? Hao, you told me back then that you saw my end. Now I understand, my death is an irresistible temptation for the guy hiding behind the scenes, coveting my body."

The air pressure around Toho Hiroshi dropped even further, and he almost snarled, "So you're actively going to your death? Using your life as bait, to accelerate that so-called process? Who allowed you to do this!"

"This is my own choice!"

Suguru Geto's voice also rose, with a rare intensity. "To achieve that world without Cursed Spirits, to make the eye of the moon plan happen faster. We are too slow, Hao, if we proceed step by step."

"You need more Cursed Energy, you need more violent upheaval. Only when I die will those monsters hiding in the shadows truly jump out."

He took a deep breath, trying to calm his emotions, his tone becoming exceptionally firm: "This is my value, and it is the last cornerstone I can lay for you, for our ideal. Using my death to clear obstacles for you, to light the final fuse."

"Absurd!"

Toho Hiroshi abruptly cut him off, stepping directly in front of Suguru Geto, their noses almost touching. "I promised Satoru I would bring you back. I never intended to use your life for the success of the plan."

This was a rare, intensely fierce argument between them. Toho Hiroshi's anger stemmed from his commitment to his promise and his powerlessness and sorrow over his companion's impending self-sacrifice. Suguru Geto's persistence, on the other hand, came from his extreme devotion to his ideal and an almost martyr-like resolve.

Suguru Geto looked at his agitated friend, his eyes softening instead, with a sense of understanding everything: "Hao, you know better than I do, some paths, once chosen, cannot be turned back from."

"From the moment I decided to betray Jujutsu High and embark on this path of 'righteousness', my end was already sealed. The only difference is whether I die without value in some corner, or let this broken body serve its greatest purpose."

He patted Toho Hiroshi's shoulder, as if comforting a sulking child: "To have met you, to know that you possess the power to change this world and are willing to achieve that ideal, I am already very fortunate."

"Now, let me, in my own way, do one last thing for you and for that new world. Don't stop me anymore, this is my final decision."

Toho Hiroshi fell silent.

The swirl mask perfectly concealed his incredibly complex expression at that moment—anger, helplessness, and a hint of imperceptible sadness.

He knew Suguru Geto was right; from a rational perspective, from the plan's perspective, Suguru Geto's "sacrifice" could indeed greatly accelerate the process.

But that was never his intention.

Only the heavy breathing of the two remained in the room.

After a long while, Toho Hiroshi slowly turned around, his back to Suguru Geto, his voice returning to its usual indifference, yet infused with a deep weariness: "Have it your way."

These three words seemed to drain all his strength.

December 24, 2017, twilight.

Shinjuku, Tokyo, was bustling with people. The neon lights of Christmas Eve had just lit up, and the air was filled with festive clamor and restlessness. Kyoto, the ancient capital, settled into tranquility and solemnity in the twilight.

However, this superficial peace was completely shattered in the next moment.

There was no warning, or rather, the warning had already been known by a few but they were powerless to stop it.

At the busiest intersection in Shinjuku, and above the ancient streets of Kyoto, space was torn open as if by an invisible hand. Thousands of Cursed Spirits, varied in form and exuding dense malice and cursed aura, poured out like a breached dam.

Screams, cries, and panic spread like a plague instantly. Ordinary people could not see these terrifying entities, but they could clearly feel the shivers and despair originating from the depths of their souls.

Invisible Cursed Spirits lunged at the bewildered crowds, destroying everything in sight, and negative emotions: fear, hatred, pain.

Erupted with unprecedented concentration and scale, like a thick, dark fog, enveloping the two cities.

This was the "Night Parade of One Hundred Demons" declared by Suguru Geto.

He stood atop a tall building in Shinjuku, his wide monk's robe flapping in the biting cold wind.

Looking down at the hellish scene below, his face showed no pleasure or cruelty, only a calm that was almost nihilistic.

He toyed with a pitch-black, constantly leaking Cursed Spirit sphere in his hand, as if it were just an unimportant toy.

"Be afraid, hate, despair, monkeys."

He murmured to himself, his voice lost in the wind, "Your last value is to become nourishment for the new world."

He could feel that the surging negative energy was being drawn and gathered by an invisible force, far beyond normal comprehension, flowing towards a distant and profound entity—the Gedo Statue slumbering underground.

This slaughter, this chaos, was a grand ceremony dedicated to the Gedo Statue.
