"I'll be focused on healing you. Morwen can guide the process. If my touch stabilises the corruption the way it did in the courtyard, then regular contact should speed up the recovery. It shouldn't take more than a year."
"Regular contact," he repeated. "But not in my bed."
Heat crawled up my neck. I exhaled through my nose. "Why are you so obsessed with sleeping with me?"
"We're married, Rosamund. That's what married people do."
I felt my face go hot and took a step back. "Well, we are not ordinary married people. We can barely stand each other, let alone be intimate."
"You think?" He smirked. "Speak for yourself. I've been looking forward to sharing my bed with you. Sex is an act that doesn't require affection, Rosamund. I'm attracted to your body even if your character leaves a great deal to be desired."
