It was a sunny morning In South Kensington ,London. At 8'O clock, a girl called 'Sara' was running to catch the bus to go College.
"Oh my god! Not on my first day at college in this place. Its all my mistake. Sweety[1] asked me to join her in her car, but I said No. Now, look at my position. God! Please help me", she thought.
Somehow, she caught the bus and reached college. As soon as she saw the college board that read "Imperial College London", a smile appeared on her face. "Come on Sara, you can do this. Now let's find out where the class is".
On the way, she asked a guy about the first day of MBA class was being held. The guy is attracted to her brown eyes and replied with a smile "Are you new here? And where are you from?".
Sara didn't have time to talk with him. Then Sweety calls her and told her to come to the auditorium within five minutes. Sara ask him for directions to the auditorium rushed there. But that guy is still standing and smiling, thinking to himself, "Interesting".
Sara finally arrived at the auditorium. Sweety reserved a seat for her beside her. Everyone was talking with each other, making friends and sharing random gossip.
when Sara sat beside Sweety, she said, "I told you to come with me, but you didn't listen. See how late you are". Sara apologized to Sweety. Still annoyed, Sweety asked her ," i don't know how you are going to calm me down. Its up to you".
Sara laughed at her words. But when she looked at Sweety, she realized Sweety was just being dramatic kid, not toxic. She remembered her presence in her life. "Sweety, may be rich, but her heart always soft and kind. She never behaved like she had everything. Thats why I made her my best friend," she thought.
In the presence of Guests and the principal, the program started and went well. Later, they came out and walked around the campus. Again, Sara met the guy who helped her find the auditorium. He introduce himself as Vicky, a senior in the MBA program.
Sara thanked him for earlier, but Sweety was a bit shocked by the way the senior looked at her, and how bright his smile was when he saw Sara, "Something is fishy" she tought.
Days passed. The relationship between Vicky, Sara and Sweety grew closer, and they became best friends. Vicky's fan following grew even more than it is. He was good at football and looked attractive when he played.
One evening, while Vicky was playing football, Sara looked at him with a quite smile. Sweety observe it and asked her, "Do you like Vicky? Because I can see something is going on with you two".
Sara replied, "NO! not at all. Vicky is just my friend and I can't be in a relationship again".
With this answer, Sweety was shocked and asked her, "WHAT? Are you in a relationship already? Who is he? And how does he look? Tell me more about him".
Sara replying "No, nothing like tha-"
Vicky interrupted their conversation. "What are you girls talking about? And hey, Sara, you asked me about a part-time job, right? My friend owns a cafe. Talk to him - maybe you can start work within two days if you want".
At that moment, Sweety completely forgot about Sara's past relationship. She asked, "Why do you want to work? I'll help you. You know that, right? Just ask for what you want. You know my dad, right?" Sweety waved her black card. "One swipe and your problems are gone. Dad won't notice."
But Sara pushed the card back. "I'd rather serve coffee than owe favors."
"You know, even I tried to convince her to let me help with money, but it didn't work". Vicky told Sweety.
Sara went to the washroom. While she was gone, Sweety talked with Vicky. "You know when she first came here, she was silent and didn't talk to anyone. But that doesn't work with me, so I slowly talked to her and made her my best friend. And until today, she's never used my money or talked behind my back. She's not like others. Some people were my friends because of my money, but she's completely different. That's why I'm still with her, like a protector."
Vicky laughed when she said this. Sweety got a bit angry and told him "Even you - if you hurt her, I'll kill you". "I was gonna say 'I'll treat her right," Vicky said. "But sure, 'die' works too. Very dramatic. I like it."
Sweety huffed, but the corner of her mouth twitched. Sara walked back, pausing at their matching grins. "What did I miss?". "Nothing," they said in unison.
"Suspicious," Sara muttered, grabbing her bag. "Let's go home before you two adopt me."
Three day later, everything going well. Sara's classes were great, and her work at the cafe had started. It kept her days busy so she didn't have time to overthink. The next morning at college as she walked to class, she passes someone and her heart started racing. He felt familiar. No way he can't be here. How can he come here? Maybe its just my imagination," Sara told herself. when she looked back, no one was there.
A notice on the board said their Sr. professor had been in an accident, and his classes would be covered by a new guest lecturer. Everyone was talking about it. when Sweety came to class, she immediately started gossiping with Sara about the new guest lecturer. "Did you notice? I heard the new guest lecturer is handsome. I think he looks smart enough to fall for me," Sweety said with a wink. But Sara's mind is still stuck on the person who'd passed her earlier. Sweety snapped her out of it, calling loudly "Earth to Sara! What's happening to you? Is everything Ok?".
"Yeah everything is good," Sara replied quickly. "What were you saying? Something about the guest lecturer-". Sweety glanced at the door and gasped. "Speaking of the devil, there he comes. And yeah, he is handsome." Sara smiled at her words, then looked at the lecturer - and froze. How can he be here? Is he our new lecturer? No way!
Everyone greeted the new lecturer as he walked in. He introduced himself, "Good morning. I'm David, your new guest lecturer. I'll be handling Organizational Behavior. And I hope we'll all learn a lot together. And -"
His words cut off when he saw Sara. His eyes lit up, bright and happy. "My god! after all this time, I finally found you,he thought.
But Sara didn't wait. She grabbed her bag and rushed out of the classroom, not giving David a chance to say another word. Vicky saw Sara running out of her class, and it surprised him. "Every time she yells at me for bunking class, but this time.." he thought. When he tried to talk to her, she didn't say a word. She just turned and left the moment she saw an exit. Vicky stood there, still in shock "What happened to her?_".
