Four hours earlier....
In the northern boarder of the Nova city lay a huge forest spanning hundreds of kilometers wide. This divided the Nova city from the Northern kingdoms territories. The forest itself was a shared region as people on both side of the forest used it to gather resources and hunt wild beasts for food.
Gathered at the heart of the forest was a clearing with an army of over one hundred thousand soldiers each of them with their own familiar beast. Standing at the front of this army were eleven men 10 of them generals and the the last the King of the north with his 2 familiar beasts. It was highly unusual for beast masters to have more than one beast the amount of people known to have more than one on the continent of Zera could be counted on one hand. The King of the north was dressed in dark armor plating with a silver crown that glowed in the clear night sky. He was a well built man with scares across his face and arms a sign of a true warrior who had fought and survived many battles. He would of been a handsome man if not for the amount of scares on his face. But to his enemies it was his eyes that would strike fear into most of them, they were cold pale white with only a black dot in the center of each as if they had once been pearls. They were the eyes of a killer who had lived an unnaturally long life killing for survival and killing to extend his life, or so the rumors said. When he spoke it sent shivers down the spines of the men in his army, his voice was calm and cold yet it felt like it pierced the soul when he spoke.
"Today the north will take over the central Kingdom and the city of Nova" King Archie of the Northern Kingdom said in his usual calm and cold tone. "We will spread our territory and grow our strength and one day clam the whole continent for ourselves and today the first step is to take down the Nova kingdom with a surprise attack with the king out of the city there is no one strong enough to stop us". "Make sure you kill everyone in the royal family and all who are related to them to make sure there will be no possibility of an uprising in the future" Archie said. "Generals you know the plan you have your orders take your men and wait for my signal". The army split into ten separate forces and headed for different sections of the forest boarder of Nova.
Once everyone left the clearing King Archie released his 2 Familiar beats both were different types of drakes. Drakes are decendents of the dragon lineage but not true dragons. A true dragon had not been seen in the land since the last Immortal grade beast which was a true dragon.
The two drakes in the clearing standing on either side of King Archie were the same size, over sixty meters long with thick scales twenty centimeters thick all over their bodies. They had thick leathery wings that spanned eighty meters across when in full flight. Across the top of their backs were fifty sharpe spines two meters tall that felt like they were harder than stone. The main difference between the two drakes was the color. The one on his left was pitch black as if it could blend in with the night but what gave it away was it's piercing yellow and black eyes and the white and blue spines that ran along its back. On its tail was a club made of many layers of solid bone, it could easily crush a man without even trying. Both beasts were God ranked Emperor level beasts some of the strongest in the whole continent except for the Nova Kings beasts.
This beast was called a Thunder ridge back Drake one of the most feared beast in all the land. On the right of King Archie was a white colored drake with crystal ice like spines across its back. It had clear blue eyes it felt like you could almost see through them. This was the most legendary of the two and known as the Frozen apocalypse Drake a beast only seen once in history before, whose power was unmatched by those of the same rank.
King Archie jumped on top of the Ice type drake and flew into the air with the black Thunder drake following right behind. He ordered the Thunder drake forward who began to draw in as much power as possible before releasing it directly at gold pathed area of the Nova city. A thick stream of lightning plasma flew out of its mouth and when it grew closer to the city the gold pathway began to heat up and melt. Then the plasma lightning beam hit a large building creating a massive explosion the sound was deafening and could be heard throughout the entire city, this was the signal for the attack to begin, and all the citizens of the city began run in panic.
