The army of the Zulfar kingdom waiting in the forest began to charge out of the forest after seeing the first attack from the Thunder drake this was the signal they had all been waiting for.
As soon as the members of the army left the forest they summoned their familiar beast and began the attack. Beasts of all different shapes and sizes with a range of different abilities began to attack with everything they had. Everything from mouse to horse and lion shaped animals, to insects that both crawled and slithered across the ground. Even flying types beast that ranged in size from a basketball to the size of a city bus.
Fire began to poor out of many of the beasts setting everything on fire. Lightning fell from the sky creating craters ten meters deep and launching rubble and debris into the air. Earth type beasts began shooting dirt and rocks across the city the stronger beast began to shake the ground making the buildings in the outer regions collapse. It looked like the end of the world had come for the city of Nova. The army of Zulfar broke through the defensive walls of the outer city with very little resistance. The army of Nova city only had routine minimal guard patrols on the walls around the outer city in times of peace and this was meant to be a time of peace between all nations including Zulfar and Nova.
In the golden part of the city, the Nova army began to gather for deployment. It was still chaos as many of the soldiers lived in the outer district and many had either stayed where they were to fight the incoming forces or died in the initial blitz. The biggest problem was the command center for the top level members of the army was destroyed in the first strike by the Thunder drake. This looked very intentional as a standard war tactic. Take out the leadership and the army becomes weak with no one to take charge. The most surprising thing about this building being the first to be destroyed was, it wasn't a marked building from the outside with no identifying markers. Zulfar must have spies in the city this didn't seem that surprising, spies were in every city from every nation.
The more surprising part was this building was top secret only know by a select few so the information should not have been leaked so easily.
Half an hour after the invasion began around twenty-five thousand troops had gathered. They all stood around anxious as they awaited orders that did not look likely to come without any leadership present.
Archers and those with flying beast had automatically been deployed to the inner wall surrounding the gold section of Nova city to begin pushing back the flying beasts.
Suddenly a beautiful women entered the grounds where the ground troops had gathered. She was dressed in full armor that looked to be made of solid gold with platinum trim. Underneath the armor the women wore a white colored material that made the armor much more comfortable to wear. She had her long blonde hair tied into a simple yet elegant bun to keep it out of her face. She had a very beautiful face with perfect symmetry, with very light brown skin like she had been to the beach to tan and it was starting to fade a bit. This was Queen Erin and she looked ready to get straight to business.
"I will be taking charge, everyone else is dead or injured, we need to begin setting up our defense of the inner city before we can make a push into the outer sections to clear the Zulfar army" she exclaimed. "Yes your majesty" the troops roared back and immediately dispersed to do what needed to be done. They had practiced drills for every situation thousands of times, what came next was automatic. The troops had the inner wall secured and the surrounding areas cleared with attacks raining down on the Zulfar enemies who got close enough to the inner wall.
Queen Erin made her way to the center of the top of the inner wall looking out over the carnage and mayhem in the outer city. Her heart was aching but she could not show emotions now she had to lead the army and protect her people. I wish you were here my love please get back soon she though of her husband who was not here to take charge.
Right below where she stood the gates were open to let the citizens of the outer region in. With the Archers and beasts on the wall taking down any one from Zulfar trying to follow through. This was extremely difficult as the Zulfar were either hiding behind the citizens or just killing them since they couldn't make it through.
It wasn't long before the amount of citizens making their way to the inner city began to drop drastically. Once the final person made it through Queen Erin ordered the gates to be shut and barricaded.
Just then out of the clouds of black smoke billowing from the outer section a white dragon like beast poked its head through its eyes locked directly on Queen Erin.
It immediately began to dropped down and head straight for her with King Archie on its back looking like death reincarnated ready to take her life. Queen Erin immediately drew her sword it was an extremely impressive thing, a weapon of the highest quality of the emperor grad with 5 glistening stars. It was known as the Ture light katana there wasn't anything it couldn't cut through. This weapon was a gift from her husband the day they got engaged it harnesses the power of the sun.
She pointed it directly at King Archie and the challenge was sent, the battle to decide who will win this war was about to begin.
