.

.

Jill and Wesker silently entered the village, moving through the darkness while carefully avoiding the villagers.

The moment they stepped deeper inside—

Both of them immediately noticed something strange.

The villagers were speaking in an unknown language.

Their voices were low and rough, almost like chanting rather than speaking.

Wesker narrowed his eyes behind his sunglasses and quietly said,

"They're communicating in their own dialect."

"It's not something we can imitate."

He glanced toward Jill.

"We move fast."

"Before they notice us."

Jill firmly nodded.

"Got it."

Without wasting another second—

Both of them silently slipped between the shadows, moving from house to house.

Soon—

Their eyes landed on a massive building standing at the center of the village.

It looked like an old church.

Dark.

Silent.

Oppressive.

Jill immediately looked toward it and whispered,

"Didn't Leon say these people are connected to some kind of cult?"

Her sharp eyes narrowed.

"If that's true…"

"That church is probably their center."

"Or wherever their leader is hiding."

Wesker calmly observed the building for a few seconds.

Then he pointed toward the entrance.

A massive iron lock secured the front gate.

Heavy chains wrapped around it tightly.

"We won't force that open quietly," he said.

Then his voice lowered further.

"The key is somewhere in this village."

"Probably with whoever is in charge."

Jill nodded firmly.

"Then we find it."

Without hesitation—

The two began raiding nearby houses one by one.

They searched quickly and efficiently.

Silently killing any villagers they encountered before they could alert the others.

Jill's movements were fast and sharp.

A knife to the throat.

A hand over the mouth.

One clean motion.

Hide the body.

Move on.

Again.

And again.

Wesker moved even cleaner.

Almost surgical.

He appeared behind his targets like a shadow before ending them instantly and dragging their bodies into darkness.

Neither made unnecessary noise.

But during their silent hunt—

Both of them noticed something unsettling.

The villagers were stronger than normal humans.

Even restraining them took effort.

Jill frowned after pinning one down.

"These people…"

"They're too strong."

Wesker calmly wiped blood from his knife.

"Enhanced physiology."

"Not fully infected."

"Something else."

Jill's expression hardened.

This was worse than New York.

These things still retained intelligence.

Soon—

After checking nearly every house—

Jill suddenly stopped.

Her sharp eyes focused on a separate structure far away from the others.

It stood slightly uphill, isolated from the village.

A two-story building.

Larger than every nearby house.

And guarded by several armed villagers.

Jill quietly signaled Wesker over.

He arrived silently beside her.

She pointed toward it.

"That building."

Wesker observed carefully.

The guards.

The position.

The isolation.

Then he nodded slightly.

"You're right."

"It's important."

Jill crossed her arms slightly.

"Beats searching random houses."

Wesker calmly agreed.

"We check there."

Then he made a quick hand signal—

He would circle left.

Jill would move right.

She nodded once.

The two separated instantly.

Wesker silently approached the first guard from behind.

His hand covered the man's mouth while his blade cleanly slit across his throat.

The body twitched briefly—

Then went limp.

He dragged it into nearby bushes without a sound.

Nearby—

Jill mirrored his actions.

She grabbed another guard, twisted him backward, and drove her knife cleanly into his neck.

The villager struggled harder than expected—

Far stronger than a normal human.

But Jill held firm.

Her eyes remained cold and focused until his body stopped moving.

She quickly hid him.

Then moved to the next.

And the next.

Despite the resistance—

She adapted fast.

Her experience from New York was showing.

Not perfect.

But enough.

Wesker noticed this silently.

For someone so new—

She was learning frighteningly fast.

Still—

He wasn't surprised.

Leon didn't choose weak people.

Not ever.

Soon—

The final guard dropped silently into the darkness.

The path to the building was clear.

Jill quietly exhaled and looked toward Wesker.

"We're in."

Wesker calmly adjusted his gloves.

Then his lips formed a faint cold smirk.

"Let's see what your precious Mr. Leon dragged us into."

Jill completely ignored Wesker's last comment.

She simply walked toward the locked door.

Wesker silently followed behind her.

Both of them stopped in front of the entrance and examined it carefully.

A thick wooden lock tightly sealed the door shut.

Jill immediately looked toward Wesker.

"This thing can break."

"Let's do it fast before someone notices."

Wesker calmly nodded.

Without wasting another second—

Both of them kicked the lock at the same time.

Bang!

The wooden lock instantly shattered apart.

The door burst open violently.

Darkness welcomed them from inside.

Cold.

Silent.

Oppressive.

Jill slowly raised her pistol and carefully stepped inside.

Wesker followed beside her.

Both of them quietly scanned left and right while moving deeper into the building.

But—

There was nothing.

No villagers.

No movement.

Only silence.

Then suddenly—

A voice echoed from above.

"Well…"

"Look who finally arrived."

Both Jill and Wesker instantly pointed their guns upward.

From the second floor—

A man slowly stepped out from the darkness and entered the faint candlelight.

He looked to be in his late twenties.

Black hair.

Expensive coat.

Calm posture.

Like some rich businessman rather than a cultist.

The man smiled faintly while looking down at them.

"Allow me to introduce myself."

"My name is Alan."

A brief pause followed.

"The man you're currently searching for."

"And…"

His smile widened slightly.

"The one responsible for the New York outbreak."

The moment Jill heard that—

Her expression instantly darkened.

Pure anger flashed across her face.

"You bastard!"

She immediately raised her gun toward him.

"You released the virus?!"

Alan casually nodded.

"Yes."

"It was me."

Jill's finger immediately tightened around the trigger—

But Wesker suddenly raised one hand slightly.

"Wait."

At the same time—

Jill quickly grabbed her communicator and contacted Leon.

Outside the village—

Leon immediately picked up the transmission.

"Jill."

"Report."

Jill instantly replied,

"We found Alan."

"He admitted everything."

"He's the one behind the outbreak."

Outside the village—

Leon's expression immediately became colder.

A brief silence followed before he calmly replied,

"Ask him why."

"And if he's just another fanatic hiding behind religion…"

His voice became ice cold afterward.

"Kill him."

"If bringing him back alive becomes impossible."

Jill nodded slightly.

"Understood."

The call ended.

Alan quietly laughed after seeing this.

"So impatient."

"Don't you at least want to hear my plan?"

Jill's eyes remained cold.

"Talk fast."

Alan's eye twitched slightly hearing her tone.

Still—

He calmed himself and slowly spread his arms dramatically.

"You see…"

"Our Saint received a prophecy."

"He told us humanity had reached its limit."

"That the world needed purification."

"That we were chosen to prepare the path for—"

Bang!

A gunshot echoed instantly.

The bullet directly pierced Alan's stomach.

Alan staggered backward in shock.

Blood splattered across the floor.

He grabbed his wound and yelled furiously,

"You insane bitch!"

"Let me finish talking!"

Jill lowered her smoking pistol slightly.

"Too much talking."

"And I stopped caring after the word prophecy."

Even Wesker looked slightly surprised.

"…That was aggressive."

Jill coldly replied,

"You wanted me to listen to cult nonsense for another hour?"

Wesker paused briefly.

"…Fair point."

Suddenly—

Alan's body began twitching violently.

His scream echoed through the building.

Bones cracked loudly.

Flesh started mutating.

Sharp claws burst out from his back.

His skin twisted unnaturally into pulsating meat.

Wings violently tore through his body.

Within seconds—

Alan transformed into the same giant bat creature Leon fought in New York.

The monster let out a horrifying screech.

Jill's eyes widened slightly.

"The same monster—"

Wesker immediately grabbed her arm.

"Move!"

The giant bat lunged toward them instantly.

Both Jill and Wesker rushed toward the exit at full speed.

There wasn't enough space to fight something that massive inside the building.

The monster smashed through walls while chasing them.

Wood exploded everywhere behind them.

The moment both of them escaped outside—

Boom!!

The entire top floor exploded apart.

Wood and debris flew everywhere.

Villagers screamed around the area.

Then—

The giant bat burst out from the roof and flew into the night sky while screeching furiously.

Its massive wings covered the moonlight itself.

Outside the village perimeter—

Leon slowly looked up toward the explosion in the distance.

The moment he saw the giant creature flying above the village—

His eyes instantly turned cold.

"…Of course it turned into a flying nightmare."

Then he calmly cracked his neck once.

"Guess the tutorial phase is over."

Outside the village—

Leon immediately looked toward the sky where the giant bat was screeching above the burning buildings.

Without wasting another second, he quietly asked in his mind,

System… should I interfere now?

A mechanical voice echoed inside his head.

[Ding.]

[System: Host, fate interference is still active.]

[System: The host is advised to wait slightly longer.]

[System: Jill Valentine and Albert Wesker still possess the possibility of solving the current situation themselves.]

Leon slowly let out a tired sigh afterward.

"Of course."

"Nothing's ever simple."

Then his cold eyes returned toward the village.

Inside the village—

Jill and Wesker were completely surrounded.

Villagers slowly approached them from every direction while growling in their strange language.

Above the sky—

The giant bat circled around them while screeching violently.

Even if the creature lacked intelligence—

The infected villagers were still seen as allies by it.

Wesker immediately looked toward Jill and said,

"We need to move."

"If we stay here any longer, that thing will tear us apart."

Jill firmly nodded.

"Then let's stop standing still."

Without hesitation—

Both of them immediately rushed toward the left side where fewer villagers were present.

But just as they were about to escape—

Boom!!

The giant bat suddenly crashed down from the sky directly in front of them.

The ground shattered instantly.

Dust exploded everywhere.

The monster screeched loudly while blocking their path.

Jill immediately raised her weapon.

"We don't have a choice anymore."

"We kill it…"

"Or we die here."

Wesker calmly nodded.

Then suddenly—

An idea flashed through Jill's mind.

She quickly looked toward Wesker.

"Wait."

"Why don't we use that thing against the villagers?"

Wesker instantly understood what she meant.

A faint smirk appeared on his face.

"Good idea."

Without hesitation—

He immediately raised his pistol and fired directly at the bat's face.

Bang!

The bullet struck near its eye.

The creature screeched furiously.

Wesker then yelled loudly,

"Come on then!"

"If you're angry, come kill me!"

The giant bat instantly launched itself toward him in rage.

Wesker immediately turned and sprinted toward the densest group of villagers.

Just before the monster reached him—

He suddenly jumped sideways.

Boom!!

The giant bat crashed directly into the villagers instead.

Bodies exploded apart instantly.

Several villagers were crushed underneath its massive body.

Wesker immediately rolled back onto his feet and shouted toward Jill,

"Run!"

"It'll recover any second!"

Jill instantly nodded and started running beside him.

Behind them—

The giant bat violently rose again while screeching in rage.

Several dead villagers were scattered around its feet after the impact.

Its glowing eyes immediately locked onto Jill and Wesker again.

Without hesitation—

It launched toward them once more.

Wesker quickly took a grenade from his pocket while running.

Then he yelled toward Jill,

"Open its mouth!"

Jill immediately understood.

Without slowing down—

She suddenly stopped and turned around before firing multiple shots directly at the monster.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The bullets struck near its eyes and face.

The creature screeched angrily and lunged toward Jill instead.

Its giant claws swung downward violently.

Jill immediately dodged sideways.

Boom!!

The claws smashed into the ground where she stood moments ago.

The beast attacked again.

And again.

And again.

Jill kept narrowly dodging every strike while breathing heavily.

Sweat rolled down her face.

One mistake—

And she would die instantly.

Suddenly—

The giant bat let out another furious screech and opened its mouth wide.

Wesker's eyes instantly sharpened.

"There!"

Using the opening—

He immediately jumped forward and threw the grenade directly into the creature's mouth.

The grenade disappeared deep into its throat.

The beast instantly began choking violently.

Its movements became chaotic.

The monster rolled across the ground while screeching painfully.

Wesker immediately rushed forward, grabbed Jill's arm, and pulled her away.

"Move!"

Both of them sprinted several meters away from the creature.

Jill, breathing heavily, looked toward Wesker and asked,

"Did it work?"

Wesker calmly replied,

"We're about to find out."

Then—

Boom!!!

The grenade exploded inside the monster's throat.

Its entire neck exploded apart instantly.

Blood and flesh scattered everywhere.

The giant bat's headless body crashed onto the ground heavily.

Silence filled the village afterward.

Jill slowly stared at the corpse while catching her breath.

"…We actually killed it."

Wesker quietly looked at the dead creature.

Then inwardly thought,

They're still inexperienced.

Even he himself lacked experience fighting giant bio-weapons like this.

Umbrella's Tyrants were still under development.

Meaning—

This was the first time he had truly fought something this dangerous directly.

Still—

A faint smirk slowly appeared on Wesker's face.

"…Interesting."

Meanwhile outside the village—

Leon quietly watched the explosion from afar.

Then he slowly crossed his arms.

"Not bad."

"Looks like the kids survived the tutorial."
