Chapter 4 - The Dragon Princess Drops In (Literally)

The journey back to the capital was supposed to be peaceful.

Instead, the sky cracked open with a roar of flame and wind.

Alex, Elara, and Lirael had just crested the last hill when a massive crimson shadow blotted out the sun. A dragon—sleek, powerful, and far too close—swooped overhead, wings beating with thunderous force. It circled once, then dove straight toward them.

Elara drew her sword instantly. "Demon beast! Hero, get behind me!"

Lirael raised glowing hands, purple magic crackling between her fingers. "This one's bigger than the usual wyvern. Stay sharp!"

Alex squinted upward, heart pounding, but something felt… off. The dragon wasn't attacking. It was descending with surprising grace, and as it got closer, he noticed details that didn't match a mindless monster: elegant crimson scales that shimmered like polished rubies, intelligent golden eyes, and small, regal horns curving back from its head.

The dragon landed with a ground-shaking thud a short distance away, folding its massive wings. Then, in a swirl of fire and light, its form shrank and shifted.

When the flames cleared, a tall, stunning woman stood in its place.

She was easily six-foot-three, with long black hair streaked in vivid crimson that fell like a waterfall down her back. Small curved horns peeked through the strands. Crimson scales traced elegant patterns along her shoulders, upper arms, and the sides of her neck. Large leathery wings remained folded behind her, and a long, powerful tail swayed lazily. Her golden eyes locked onto Alex with intense, almost predatory focus.

She wore minimal but regal attire—black and red leather that hugged powerful curves, leaving her midriff bare and showing generous cleavage. A golden circlet rested on her forehead.

"I am Sylvara Flamewing," she announced, voice rich and commanding, yet carrying an undercurrent of shyness. "Princess of the Dragonoid Clans. The Goddess's oracle reached even our mountain aerie. The Hero of Light has awakened… and I have come to offer my strength."

Elara lowered her sword slightly, but stayed protective. "A dragonoid princess? This is highly irregular. We were not informed—"

Sylvara's tail flicked. "The Goddess does not send invitations. She sends commands." Her gaze never left Alex. "And my command was clear: find the Hero and… bond with him so that our combined power may turn the tide against the Demon Lord."

Lirael's eyes lit up with delight. "Oh my. Another one already? This is progressing faster than I expected."

Alex swallowed, trying not to stare. Sylvara was breathtaking—tall, strong, and radiating quiet power. But there was something adorably awkward in the way she stood there, wings twitching like she wasn't sure what to do with her hands.

"Hi," he said, offering a friendly smile. "I'm Alex. Nice entrance. Very dramatic."

Sylvara's cool kuudere expression cracked for a split second. A faint blush colored her scaled cheeks. "It… was necessary for speed. I flew through the night."

The System chimed happily in Alex's vision.

**[New Potential Party Member Detected!]**

**Sylvara Flamewing – Dragonoid Princess**

**Initial Affection: 48/100 (Reserved but Intrigued)**

**Bonding Potential: Extremely High (Fire & Heat Synergy)**

**Special Note: Dragonoid heat cycles may accelerate bonding urges.**

Elara stepped forward, still wary. "Princess or not, we cannot simply add you to the party without proper vetting. The Hero's safety is my responsibility."

Sylvara tilted her head, tail curling slightly. "Then vet me." Her golden eyes flicked to Alex again. "I offer my flames, my strength, and… my body, if the ritual demands it."

Lirael clapped her hands. "See? Straight to the point. I like her."

Alex rubbed the back of his neck, laughing awkwardly. "Look, I appreciate the offer—really—but we just finished one quest. Maybe we can talk first? Grab some dinner? Get to know each other before we jump straight to the… ritual?"

Sylvara blinked slowly. "Talking is acceptable. But the oracle was specific. The Hero grows stronger through intimate connection with his destined companions. Delaying weakens us all."

Elara sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. "She sounds like the Goddess's echo."

They made camp near a clear stream as the sun set. Lirael conjured soft glowing lights and a comfortable campsite. Elara prepared a simple but hearty meal from their rations. Sylvara sat across from Alex, wings folded neatly, tail occasionally brushing against his leg as if testing the waters.

Conversation started stiff. Sylvara spoke little at first, answering questions about her mountain home and dragonoid customs with short, precise sentences. But as Alex shared funny stories from Earth (carefully edited to avoid sounding insane), she began to relax. A small, rare smile appeared when he described video games as "illusion battles in boxes."

"You fight without real blades?" she asked, genuinely curious. "And people watch for enjoyment?"

"Yeah. It's called streaming. I used to do it sometimes."

"Strange… yet interesting." Her tail curled around his ankle under the table. "You are different from the heroes in our legends. Less arrogant. More… warm."

The night deepened. After dinner, Lirael and Elara exchanged glances.

"I will take first watch," Elara announced, standing. But her eyes lingered on Alex and Sylvara. "Do not… exhaust the Hero too much, Princess."

Lirael winked. "I'll keep the captain company. You two have fun getting acquainted."

Once the other two had moved a respectful distance away, Sylvara shifted closer. Her golden eyes glowed softly in the firelight.

"I am… not experienced in these matters," she admitted quietly, voice losing its regal edge. "Dragonoids mate during heat cycles, but this is different. The Goddess said my fire would resonate with yours."

Alex reached out gently, taking her scaled hand. "We don't have to rush anything. I'm new to all this too."

Sylvara's tail tightened around his leg. A low, warm rumble vibrated in her chest—almost a purr. "But I want to. For the prophecy… and for you. You smell… safe. Kind."

What started as tentative kisses quickly grew heated. Sylvara was surprisingly gentle for her size, but her passion burned hot. Her wings wrapped around them both like a private canopy as she pulled Alex down onto the soft grass. Scales felt smooth and warm against his skin, and when her heat began to rise, faint flames danced harmlessly along her shoulders.

She was eager but endearingly clumsy at first—blushing furiously when Alex guided her. Soon though, instinct took over. Her strong body moved with powerful, rolling motions, tail coiling possessively around his waist. Soft, throaty growls mixed with surprised gasps as pleasure built.

The System celebrated enthusiastically.

Afterward, they lay tangled together under her wings. Sylvara's usual cool demeanor had melted into quiet contentment. She rested her head on his chest, one clawed hand gently stroking his hair.

"You are… acceptable," she murmured, the closest thing to a compliment she seemed willing to give. But her tail was still curled tightly around him, betraying her true feelings.

Alex smiled, pressing a kiss to her horn. "You're pretty amazing yourself, Princess."

Elara and Lirael returned later, pretending they hadn't heard anything. Elara looked equal parts jealous and proud. Lirael simply grinned and conjured extra blankets.

As the four of them settled down for the night—Alex comfortably surrounded by his growing party—another System notification appeared.

**[Party Formed: Core Harem Route Activated]**

**Current Members: Elara (100), Lirael (85), Sylvara (71)**

**Morale: Extremely High**

**Warning: More heroines will sense the Hero's aura soon. Prepare sleeping arrangements accordingly.**

Alex stared up at the stars, a big stupid grin on his face.

He still hadn't fought the Demon Lord.

He hadn't even reached the next town.

But he had a fiercely loyal knight, a teasing genius mage, and a passionate dragon princess who had literally flown across the kingdom to find him.

And every single one of them seemed determined to "strengthen" him as often as possible.

Yeah… saving the world could definitely wait a few more days.
