My hands went clammy as I stared at my siblings in front of me. They stared back at me with different emotions painted on their faces.
"There. I deleted all possible news about us that the Lovelands could use or dig against us." Gavin sighed as he put his laptop aside and crossed his arms. The four of them sat on the big bed were I slept while me, well hell, I can't stay in one spot for long.
"Who are these Lovelands actually?" I paced. I had slept and eaten and are feeling much comfortable now. It has been five hours since I declared myself engaged. I feel that my brain had slacked because of tiredness and hunger because of my last mission. We hacked through the Cambodian bank and ALMOST didn't make it. Just thinking of it tires me again.
"They're clean. But I haven't checked the Deep Web yet." Vivienne was much calmer and rested and she was also on her laptop laying on the foot of the bed. "The Loveland Bachelor as they call him, has a mansion in the mountains up north because he loves the sunrise-"
"Isn't he on the wrong direction?" Golden retorted. "Doesn't matter, go on"
"So he loves the sunrise and also, it was were he and his dead fiancee Meryl Blonde, planned their wedding and all that, said that the girl died of an unknown reason, her dead body was found lying on one of the cottages in their man-made waterfalls by the edge of the mountai-"
"Whoah! What the fuck?" I half-shouted. "HOW TRAGIC BUT WHAT THE FUCK? What if I die in there too?" I turned cold by the thought.
"So yeah, they thought that she had drowned so they made an autopsy but before the result were released, the girl's family made a statement that they don't want to know the result and that they want to maintain the thought that their daughter died naturally..." Vivienne looked at me.
I shivered at what I heard.
"But what kind of family does that?" I hugged myself. "Not wanting to know what really took her? And why is it so cold suddenly?"
They stared at me questioningly.
"It's so hot in here dude, you haven't turned your air conditioner since we arrived in your room, yes you're so insensitive." Carlisle moved closer to Gavin.
"B-But... it's so cold.." I could see my breath swirl in front of my mouth.
Golden's eyes grew big as she realized that I was about to see a vision-
My heart stopped as we heard a knock on the door.
"W-who is it?" Vivienne quickly stood and faced the door. Gavin sat upright as Golden came back to her senses.
"It's me, guys," mom
We all released our breaths that we didn't know we were holding.
Carlisle found his limbs first and and opened the door for mom.
We all stood up in attention as mom went to us smiling particularly at me. She held my hands tightly.
"I was so proud of you, Love, you were so brave in defending our family name. You shocked me and dad when you said yes to the Lovelands." She sighed and stared out at the window overlooking the lush garden. The darkness were already creeping for the night time's arrival.
"Me and your dad doesn't know the Lovelands too well, they were our business partners for five years now and they always come up clean in every deal that we do. Mr. Loveland suggested that we arrange the marriage with one of our foster daughters. The Lovelands didn't particularly choose you, or any of your siblings, Sara," she faced us with grim face. "Me and your father decided that it has to be you, Sara, together with your siblings. I want you to discover their secrets. They are hiding something from us, we bought this land next to their plantations and their feedback about the Lovelands were not so good. The people tell our connections that there are bodies that turn up now and then in these areas. That's why no one near the place wants to get involved with them. They warned us, but the Lovelands came to us then. Offered friendship and protection until there was no saying no to them."
She paced towards us and said matter-of-factly." You need to make your plan. We told them that me and your dad will not get involved in all this deal.... Your on your own, and we trust you. We believe you can do it....."
