'Yes, I can telepath a little, don't worry though I'm not a mind reader. Ease up, I'm just showing you who I really am.' Shanara's voice echoed like a bell in my mind again and this time my heart thundered in my chest as sweat trickled down my forehead.
This must mean that she's not a normal human being after all. I inhaled deeply as her eyes suddenly lit up with a smile directed to me, I could sense that she feels how tensed I am right now, in front of everyone else.
I felt mom shift towards me but I couldn't get my eyes off Shanara. I suddenly came to my senses when dad patted my arm.
"Well, someone's inlove." Dad said mockingly.
"What?" Was the only word that I could muster.
"Ey, bro, don't stare too much you'll get addicted," Golden said laughing, some of the cupcake she was eating was still in her fingers and she licked them playfully.
"No, I wasn't." I replied nervously. I could feel the heat particularly in my cheeks and I reached out for a lemonade on the right side of the table. I could still feel Shanara staring at me with her wicked smile. Huh!
"Well, that's normal, son." Mom said. "When me and your dad were younger, we used to stare nonstop to each other. We didn't even feel that some people were around us. It just felt like there was nothing else but the both of us. Oh such a magical feeling!" Mom continued and clapped her hand in the end. Ugh.
Candace giggled. Wait. Candace giggled? She doesn't even react to anything but now she's giggling? This is ridiculous! I turned toward her and stared at her unbelievably.
" You too? I thought you were the next unemotional one in the family next to Riviere?" I held up my hands in disbelief.
"Can't help it," she meaningfully said looked back at the food.
"Ah, Nicholas, my boy. You must enjoy the feeling whilst it's still there, right?" dad asked and everybody answered with a yes and began eating the food on the table.
"By the way, we know about your secret." Shanara blurted out of nowhere.
"What secret?" Clover asked, who was leaning at the maze wall suddenly straitened up. Mom and dad both looked at her, surprise evident in their faces. Candace slowly sat still in her seat her eyes wide.
I almost choked on the lemonade that I was meaning to swallow and spat it on the ground instead. I felt my heart thundered again uncontrollably, who the fuck said that vampires don't have heart beats? I hope that was true because this heart beat will be my death! The hell with this woman!
"Oh yeah! We know that you hate Vitamin D a.k.a the sunlight and that you love blooooood." Golden said as she licked the maple syrup in her spoon and imitated a vampire biting down into her pancake.
"What in the world are you talking about?" Mom asked acting all so innocent. Her jawline quivering at the effort.
I felt dad shift in his posture and stared at me and Clover in warning.
"No need to deny things, mom, dad." Carlisle said nonchalantly. "We knew the moment we stepped into those hallways that you were different. The smell of blood and death was imminent. He smelled the air and exhaled in disgust.
" And, if you mean us no harm, then you wouldn't do anything out of the ordinary, right? After all, we're here because our families are gonna be tied together, forever, right?" Shanara added casually. Her hair blowing in the sudden wind that wasn't present a minute ago.
I felt the temperature go down and the clouds who seemed distant a few hours ago drew nearer than intended. I remembered the rumor about the Dela Vega family. That the foster children were indeed special and they're showing it now.
"If that's the case, then we need to know if you are an ally or a faux...." Clover went to Candace's side slowly. His movements careful so as not to put the siblings in alarm.
"We accept you for who you're family are, mom , dad, Nicholas. Everything can be worked out, if you promise not to do any harm to any of our family." Vivienne commented slowly.
"Then this is settled." mom said after some time. I exhaled a breath I didn't know I was holding back. I felt the same with Clover and Candace. "The secret will remain to outsiders, and you will never see us drink someone's blood. The wedding will proceed as planned, and we will give each other respect and privacy..."

Shanara engulfed the Lovelands in her calming energy and said the most stupid thing that she could say," By the way, we know about you secret." My heart beat frantically out of controll but I held my emotions still.

'Get ready though, thjs might get bloody.' I heard Golden reply, I could almost see her smirk in my head. But she was casually eating her pancakes when I looked at her.
'Hope not. This is way too delicious,' Vivienne munched in her food calmly.

'Here goes trouble,' Carlisle jokingly telepathed.

I summoned my energy ball to be calming enough for everyone and removed negative emotions around the Lovelands. My heart squeezed tightly as I absorbed Candace's panic and Mrs Lovelands fear. I fought my welled up emotions and maintained a calm demeanor despite the surge of emotions I felt. Thank goodness Mr. Loveland, Clover and Nicholas had their emotions in chack and I absorbed nothing from them except a few nervous responses.
"What in the world are you talking about?" Mrs Loveland asked casually, her fear slicing through my nerves. I gave her more calming energy to ease her emotions, and it seemed to work as I saw her quivering jaw settle.
My energy balls engulfed them and the environment reacted to my energy that clouds drew nearer in each second. Too much of my energy draws clouds if not humans or animals to react. The temperature suddenly went down and air circled the maze gardens.

Their safety depends on their answers and they seemed to be on the safe side, thanks to my energy balls. I slowly released them one by one and they checked themselves inwardly. I could sense that they're not so edgy anymore and rhey have their emotions in check, ao I don't need to assist them in absorbing the information I just gave them.
I saw Nicholas calm down and he looked at me questioningly. I stepped closer toward him to ask him what's wrong but the butler came rushing from out kf nowhere.
"Lady Vega, your parents are here!" He exclaimed.
