"You need to go up there." Vince leaned against the wall, glaring at me as he had for the last two hours. "You need to talk to her."
"I can't. Not yet." Today, I experienced genuine fear.
Nefra surprised me.
By the time the sunset, I'd convinced myself she wasn't returning, and I was powerless. We were dealing with magic, and it was beyond anything I'd confronted.
That hadn't stopped me.
"What are you waiting for?" he crossed his arms, trying to hold his irritation back. Vince was furious with me, and I can't blame him.
Everything that happened today was my fault.
"What do I say to her? How do I fix this?"
"Say anything. Just make sure you don't lose her."
"Easier said than done."
I'd already made the mistake of deciding for my mate. She had every right to question her place, but I'd let my fear take control, and it might've cost me everything.
I only hoped she'd return, but we were back to square one.
