"What?"
My laughter died the second Ivan tensed up.
What had I said? Gods, is my insecurity that bad? We'd relaxed and all the tension was gone, but now it's back, and it's my fault.
"What did you say?" Ivan sat up, pulling me with him.
"Nothing. Forget it."
"Nefra, what did you say?" he insisted, his expression darkening.
What now? What if he changed his mind about me? A part of me thought he'd try to get closer when I came back, but he'd left me alone.
Instead of being relieved, it put me on edge, but I'd let it go because I had things to do, and then Tay and Greg kept me company. Now, I had to face him, and if he'd changed his mind, what was next?
"I was just trying to get you to stop." Should I go back to my room? I didn't want to start another fight.
