[" Please, please, please, please! Work!"
I muttered under my breath as I struggled and strained. My body pumping out as much magic as I could to hold up the weight of a thousand gallons of water mixed with glass shards. My legs already gave way underneath me as I knelt on the ground, focusing till my eyes bleed as I formed the top of the enternity glass. Bit by bit the shape took place and finally it perfectly fit.
Taking in a deep breath, I blew on the water slowly freezing it all into place. My body slowly crumble to the ground from exhaustion but I kept going until it was frozen in place. I could hear the cheers of the fairies as dark spots appeared in my sight and I no longer could fight back the dizziness.
" Quickly! Put the dust in! Flyers take your mark! As soon as time starts turning, get Lord Metztli back to his core!"
I vaguely registered what was said as I could feel my body being lifted up. My mind pounded and throbbed as my shallow breaths took in as much mana in the air as it could. I could feel the cold, hard gemstones pressed against my lips, filling the air I breathe in with pure mana.
I gasped at the sudden concentrated amount as my lungs lunched at it, forcing my weakened state to convert it into power. I kept drifting in and out of consciousness before finally darkness consumed me in a peaceful sinking slumber.
" Lord Metztli."
A could hear someone calling me from a distance away.
"Lord Metztli!"
The voice that was once miles aways suddenly shrieked in my ear causing me to jolt up. I sat up just to see that I was back in my own bedroom back in my homeland surrounded by many worried pixies all fluttering about, hovering over me.
" Lord Metztli! Thank goodness! We thought you were a goner for a moment there!"
Lumi chimed as she patted my back with her tiny hand.
" But that was before we remembered that World Guardians don't die but rather fall into a deep slumber before returning to the source and being reincarnated. "
Faber added.
" Close called there! He probably would have been reincarnated into a rock or maybe a tree!"
Dizzy dragged on.
" What... I'm... Alive?"
I questioned as I started down in disbelief at my hands, moving it around and confirming that I was truly still here.
" Lord Mirauleo's fairy brought you back in a nick of time. You would have been a goner had you come in a few moments later. "
Lumi informed as she gestured for the other pixies to give me some space.
" Wish that I had my brother's power then I could just freeze my status and I would have all the time in the universe... Is time moving again?"
" Yes but..."
Lumi trailed off.
"But?"
I pressured.
" But... There are no thoughts flowing throughout the gods and land..."
Lumi squeaked before giving me an awkward smile.
" World damn it! Is every world forsaken system breaking down at this exact moment!"
I growled as I kicked my blanket off me and stood to my feet.
" You shouldn't be up yet!! You need to rest!"
Lumi stood in front of me, trying to block my way with her small frame.
" Is it?!!!"
I demanded which made her flinch and cower.
" Well with time moving again and the season moving along to its flow. Technically only one world system is down. Which is good since earlier it was all 3 systems down since there wasn't any flow of time to follow. So good job fixing that?"
Lumi offered, trying to sound positive as she gave an awkward smile and a thumb up. I sighed out all the air in my lungs in a low and dragging way. I could already feel my soul leaving my body. I hid my face behind my hands, trying to bring myself some comfort.
" There's always some problem, some where demanding some body to fix this universe forsaken world. Why can't things just run normally? "
I whined before pushing past Lumi and leaving the room.
" Hey! Stop! You are in no condition to be going anywhere! Your body still haven't fully adsorbed all the mana it needs yet!"
Lumi yelled as me as she pushes against me trying to force me back to my room which did nothing to even slow me down.
" I'm sure the world can function perfectly fine without useless rain or snow for the rest of it's existence."
I snapped back as I turned away from her, heading towards the closest window and leaping out of it.
Maybe I shouldn't have been so harsh... She was just worrying about me.
I contemplated for a moment before a snapped my fingertips and a cloud appeared underneath me. Within seconds the cloud floated me over my territory following the breeze. Feeling a little bad, my gaze fell upon my home. A castle made out of clouds housing around a billion elemental pixies that were fluttering about preparing for the next seasonal change. The castle was kept in place by ice pillars keeping the whole structure from floating off. Below that was a huge mountain covered in snow and surrounding it a half frozen lake followed by a huge shared grassy field that leads towards the hidden world. The territory that belonged to the nature fairy. The field served as a shared common area between both territories.
I couldn't help but scoff at the name she called herself, mother nature. It was a ridiculous name even after centuries I still rolled my eyes at the name. I am the being that was born from the magic of the nature god and even I wasn't that prideful to name myself after nature. But then again I do understand where she's coming from she is a fairy created by the earth itself through nature. Born just to boss us guardians around and remind us this world isn't for us but for the gods. Zero idea what Morpheus sees in that naggy tree hugger even so, we left her territory untouched and waiting for her return. Maybe one day she would be reincarnated back into her original form and finally return home. Until then, probably only Darzirak would be able to find her, since he already found her reincarnated body 4 times or was it 5 times? Meh, somewhere around there.
I shrugged before turning towards a huge water fall that kept the hidden world hidden behind layers of mist. The edge of the world, the humans called it but to me it was my brother's territory. The water falls into a huge hole, creating tons of wind and mist. The whole area felt extremely humid without the breeze. I couldn't help but wonder why did Morpheus stop putting ideas or dreams into the winds that was ragging within the abyss, to be free.
"Why isn't he releasing the breeze?"
I whispered to myself before leaping off my cloud and into the abyss. My fall was quite long since the winds were extremely restless and violent, it kept whipping pressured air at me. Good thing being the weather man has it's benifits, I'm immune to elemental most elements attacks. Wind being the highest I have defence against.
Once I passed the wind barrier, the abyss opens up to a huge underground gear city that depended on the nearby waterfall to pump magical colourful sand holding ideas and dreams into the wind and turning it into a pleasant breeze or a violent nightmare.
As my eyes adjusted to the darkness and the thin must only then did I noticed sparks in the distance and the majority destruction of the city as an epic battle took place. All the fairy were in utter panic but their distance screams and woes where drown out by the sound of the waterfall since I was still close to it. Magical sand of many different hues were being thrown creative the thin mist that blanketed the city but since the sand was so fine, so many colours mixed turns the mist into a dull brown.
Most fairy were laying on the ground facing whatever feverish oversaturated thoughts or dreams caused by the sand. I quickly covered my mouth and stopped myself from breathing in mana, not wanting to end up like any of them.
I quickly made my way to the core of the city, dodging random carts on the streets as I went. I squinted my eyes barely making out the two small figures battling it out. From the way certain attacks froze midway and from concentrated illusion were flashing about, I could already tell it was Mirauleo and Morpheus up there, fighting.
"What the hell got them into such a series fight??"
I questioned no one in particular as I reached the tower in the centre of the city where Morpheus core was kept. Surely his second in command is safely hidden here, high above all the mist. I hoped as I opened the door.
