Looking at all these people who were kneeling towards her, Roxanne didn't have much expression. She knew that these guys were kneeling not because they revered her, but because no one came to challenge her. And when someone first took that step, these guys would be like vultures come to tear her apart. They were opportunists, plain and simple. The moment her absolute power showed even a tiny hint of weakness, these very same devils who were currently pressing their faces into the floor would rise up with bared fangs.
But Roxanne didn't care. Let them plot, and let them dream of a chance to strike. A small, mocking smile played on her lips as she leant deeper into her obsidian throne.
To her, their hidden greed and silent schemes were nothing more than a boring joke. After all, she has the confidence to flip the table if she desires. And to be honest, she was actually a bit excited to see what kind of resistance these guys could come up with.
Just as the coronation ceremony was going smoothly, the huge door opened as an aura that was no weaker than Roxanne's arrived. When everyone turned to look back, everyone almost fell down in fear.
Because the one who arrived was someone they never expected. No, it should be said they were very expecting his presence, but they were hoping that he would never come. Because the person who arrived was none other than God of the Bible, Yahweh.
Yahweh was dressed in a simple, pure white robe that shone with a soft but blinding light. This bright light cut right through the red glow of the hall. His outfit was plain, but no one in the hall dared to show any disdain towards him. Because even though the aura around him was very sacred and peaceful, the devils felt like knives were hanging over their necks.
The moment he stepped onto the red carpet, a sound like sweet, ringing bells filled the air. It was a beautiful melody that carried a powerful illusion, instantly filling the minds of everyone in the hall with vivid visions of high heavens, singing angels, and endless white clouds.
Then this illusion suddenly shattered as Roxanne made her move. She didn't move; she just stopped holding back her aura.
Her dark, crushing power erupted like a volcano, smashing right into the gentle holy light. The beautiful illusion of heaven cracked and broke like glass, snapping everyone back to reality. The sudden clash of their powers sent a massive shockwave through the room, making the towering obsidian pillars groan and the heavy drapes tear.
The nobles who were caught in the middle gasped for air, feeling the pressure squeeze their chests.
Roxanne didn't even stand up. She just leant back on her throne, her eyes locked onto Yahweh with a wide, dangerous smile. The boring ceremony was finally getting fun.
"Hey, old man," Roxanne said, her voice smooth but carrying a clear threat that echoed over the quieted hall. "Are you here to congratulate me, or did you come to die?"
Yahweh stopped walking. He looked at Roxanne on the throne. His expression stayed completely calm, like a peaceful ocean, but compared to his calm face, the clash of their auras only grew more violent.
The pure white light and the deep crimson energy ground against each other right in the middle of the hall. The air grew hot, and sparks of raw power crackled where the two auras met, melting the polished marble floor below. The weaker nobles couldn't take it anymore and actively pressed themselves flat against the carpet, praying they wouldn't get vaporised by the leaking energy.
Yahweh slowly closed his eyes for a brief moment, then opened them. Then he retracted his aura. Then his smile became more sincere as he looked at Roxanne with kindness, like a grandfather looking at his grumpy granddaughter.
"I did not come here to fight, child," Yahweh said softly. He took another step forward, completely unfazed by the roaring volcano of her aura. "The throne of the underworld has been empty for too long, causing endless chaos. I merely came to see the one who took it in a single day."
He stopped right in front of the raised platform, looking up at her with a gentle, knowing gaze.
"And also to visit my granddaughter."
Hearing his words, the nobles in the hall almost lost their minds. The absolute God of the Bible had walked straight into the heart of enemy territory, not to launch a holy war, but to just see his granddaughter.
The shock in the room was so heavy that the silence felt totally different now. The lords of the 72 Pillars, the high-ranking military officers, and even the Four Satans stared with their mouths wide open. They looked back and forth between the holy figure of Yahweh and the terrifying Queen sitting on the obsidian throne.
Granddaughter? The true bloodline of Lucifer was actually related to the God of the Bible. Well, everyone knew that Lucifer was an angel created by God before he fell, but that was just ancient history. When they launched that great war, no one cared about bloodlines. After all, strictly speaking, if you look closely, all three factions had a deep connection to God.
But that didn't mean they would not fight to the death. Besides, in supernatural society, it wasn't the first time family members tried to kill each other. I mean, look at the Greek pantheon. You could kill a random monster only to find out it had a deep connection to Zeus or that it was one of Gaia's descendants from the exact same generation.
So, no one would usually claim kinship with each other unless they were no longer hostile. And that was clearly impossible for devils and angels. Devils and angels simply could not co-exist peacefully.
Up on the stage, Roxanne's dangerous smile twitched for a split second. The cold, mocking look on her face slipped, replaced by an expression of pure, unabated annoyance. The heavy, volcano-like devil aura she was releasing suddenly felt a bit awkward in the air.
"Who are you calling your granddaughter, you old geezer?" Roxanne snapped, her smooth voice losing its majestic tone for a moment as she glared down at him. She finally took her chin off her hand and leaned forward, looking completely grumpy. "Don't try to act close with me just because you brought a nice smile. We are in the middle of a serious coronation ceremony here!"
Yahweh didn't look offended at all. Instead, his sincere smile only grew wider and warmer, completely ignoring the fact that thousands of terrified devils were watching his every move.
"Oh, but it is true, child," Yahweh said softly, his voice full of gentle humour. He took another casual step forward, looking completely relaxed. "No matter how much you frown, family is family. And I must say that the crown looks very nice on you, even if it is a bit dusty."
Hearing him complain about the underworld's supreme symbol gathering dust, the surrounding nobles felt their hearts skip a beat. They quickly lowered their heads even further into the carpet, wishing they could become completely invisible. They had just realised they were trapped in the middle of the most terrifying, high-level family reunion in the history of the world.
