Chapter 529 - Chapter 529: Savage Performance

A stance, unique amongst those in Orochi.

Less like a fighter, and more like a performer. A stance that Koina recognized well, a signal for Adel to watch out, yet it was too late. A few steps in the ground, a rhythm being set. As Adel tried to swing down with both arms to cave his skull, Taro dodged out of harms way and matched it with a knee to his chin, stunting his movements. A clap from his hands as he'd backhand the Serpent, before grabbing him by the arm mid-spin and deliver an elbow to his chest.

A rhythm set in the field of battle, a long chain that accumulates for each strike. Palm strike into a stomp to keep his feet down and prevent him from floating further in the air. A pull back to land a bite down into his skull, shattering such bone, before letting go and hitting his temples with both hands. A chop into his neck's sides, letting him prepare a nasty knee into his abdomen and a kick into his stomach. He'd follow along such movements, aiming for a quick set of jabs at his face, before another knee into an elbow to keep him down. A grip into his mouth, opening it so that he can palm strike it back closed, stunting his movements again. A dance that he repeated from its beginning, the stomp and pull being read again, but powerless to fight back. Small deviations were made, such as an elbow to the jaw instead of a throat chop, as well as a pile drive into a building's walls to pin down the Serpent so he can continue his barrage of blows unimpeded. Such a dance felt like it was water, coursing across his body in one motion. A dance that can only be heard and seen firsthand, a string of attacks that whittled down the body and wore it into its prime essentials.

An infinite loop.

Koina would try to intervene, but she noticed a shift in the earth, the Metal Dragon swooping behind her and ramming into her back, dragging her across the bloodied earth, such sanguine entering into her mouth, her mask torn apart by the scraped ground. She'd spit away as she'd turn herself and grab ahold of the Dragon's head, pulling it to the side, letting it move and crash into a wall and a few buildings to wear down its metallic body. She was struggling to keep up, as she'd get atop of the beast and run across it, a shortcut to meet back with Taro in order to interrupt this combative dance. The Metal Dragon, however, simply turned its body like a drill, making her lose footing, enduring as the many sharp hands clawed and slashed into her flesh, wearing her down just as much, punishing her for thinking the beast was down for the count after a measly crash. She was running low on options, taking the dagger and trying to slash down in the same motion, but such constructs would instantly be shredded away. Taking a Gamble, she'd hold tight on the Metal Dragon's body, her dagger sticking out, using the sharp, fast motions to create a dragon of her own, one that forged around the beast in order to attack back and slow such momentum to a halt.

Even as she had her body scraped further, her flesh exposed, half her face tattered into a red mess, she smiled as she watched her beast be born from her opponent's strengths again, letting the two dragons clash and bite into one another as she'd try to approach the King of Orochi. She'd see the many faces left on Adel's body already spent, his lives dwindling just as much from such savage beatings. A quick slash would be made, an arc of water to catch him off guard, just enough for Adel to counter with his own dance, rough around such edges, but a good starting point to mimic the motions of the King. Slashes against his chest, before barreling through and knocking him upwards with a shoulder bash. A leap to launch a kick across his face, followed by a roundhouse kick to his sides. A pull from his legs to land a dropkick across his chin, before angling himself to be right above the King, gripping him by his skull, his body weight shifting to come down like a meteor. Koina would watch and follow it up by directing her own dragon to clash against the fall, letting the two tumble across, splattering and spraying such blood, letting the wounds take it in as Adel piledrive Taro's head into the pavement. Combining that impact with the rough slam between such beasts would leave most people to be dead, with the bones shattering and stabbing into such vitals.

A few flicks, however, would signal that Taro was not done yet. In that very impact, his gauntlet was struck by the two beasts, letting the tiles flip over and reveal his result.

Gem, Paradox, Gem, Paradox.

A wide grin as the energy began to spike, the colors growing wild as the beasts began to emerge. A Serpent-like beast with gems across its sides, patterned to reflect off of the sun's rays as it coiled around. A wyvern-like beast with three heads, each one having an abstracted part visible, whether it was a square-like eye or a circular tongue spiraling into itself. White and Black. Yin and Yang. The beasts would blast down their breath weapons across the scene, with the Gem dragon materializing elements of nature itself to go against the group, flooding them in varying styles of magic to damage as much as possible while Taro was gravely wounded. The Paradox Dragon, however, would enact an illusion, triggered as soon as the two tried to fight back, watching as their actions begin to repeat, looking behind to see the countless copies of one another repeating such movements as if they were in a living film reel.

An Infinite loop. One that is used against them. One that takes advantage of the performance he gave, and twisted it onto their heads to suffer through.
