"DON'T LET THEM GET AWAY!! THEY HEARD OF OUR PLANS! WE CANNOT LET THEM RAT IT OUT TO THE PUBLIC!!"
The orders barked by the Sergeant was merciless, as the army split paths and took their own personal route. Adel watched as they took different directions, as if an invisible command was given so they can take a respective position. He'd stick his tongue out and can sense the gunpowder coming ahead, a signal that they were going to fire again. One soft kick was enough for Fenrir to register the threat and prepare, as the next set of bullets flew past, quickly eating at the magic and firing a discharge at the ground to boost them out of the way, soaring them to the skies so they can see the other teams. Adel would mark both the flags and the team names on it to ensure that, even if he was somehow dead, his message can be carried across:
Team Sky
Team Shroud
Team Ballista
Team Hope
Team Pandora
Five teams, each with a respective symbol that housed their respective fields. Once they came back down, however, they were met with 10 troops already surrounding them, as if they knew when they would come down. Taking such a risk, Adel would grip ahold of Fenrir by his waist and spin back, letting himself take the damage of the numerous bullets that came down, grunts and screams coming out of him as he was riddled with such steel. Fenrir would try to stop him from throwing away his own life, but would be stopped by the Serpent grabbing at his mouth and feeding him the excess energy the soldiers left behind, allowing him to set up a discharge as he spins them back around, blasting a massive bolt to break apart the group, letting them safely run across the area after leaving such burnt bodies behind. "JUST KEEP GOING!" Adel shouted, still reeling back from the injuries he was forced to endure.
"But your body! You need-" Fenrir's words were cut as soon as Adel screamed again.
"JUST! MOVE!!! I'M NOT DROPPING THE BALL AND LET SOMEONE ELSE GET HURT AGAIN!! I CAN TAKE IT!!" Disheartened, but assured, Fenrir kept moving. The two watched as another soldier began to make their way to the treetops, holding up a rocket launcher and taking aim, firing it at an angle to ensure that even if it missed, the massive rubble and broken earth would be enough to stunt them. More troops were following ahead, some carrying sniper rifles as they wait for the destruction to come down, ready to take advantage of their disheveled states. Adel, however, simply got himself up, poison for blood bleeding out of his body, and timed himself.
SHIKK!!!!
An immediate slash against the rocket, parting the two shells away, letting them fall to the side and explode, now acting as their cover. His legs wobbled as he goes back on the Chainbreaker's back, panting heavily as he'd see the spill he left. He can't help but smile as he kept throwing his life away for the sake of someone else, his mind wondering if he would have to pop his revivals again, even if it meant he'd die then and there. Fenrir, however, would keep him to his side, as he'd carry the smog over and blast it down with a heavy breath, letting him keep such cover up and keep them from finding the two. "Where did they go!? They were right in front of us!" One soldier shouted. Another would try to trail after, making signals for them to follow, marking each tree they cross as they see the poison left behind.
"You're bleeding. They're going to find us if you keep fighting like this." Fenrir stated. It wasn't out of worry, but necessity, and one that Adel can't argue back against.
"Take us to one of the teams then. The other one close to us. Let the soldiers pile in and we can make it act like they were attacking random stragglers. I doubt they know we're participating..." Adel mentioned, which did made the wolf be a bit concerned, but following the plan anyway. He'd shift directions and ran for Team Sky, letting themselves fumble and roll across the ground to insinuate the amount of damages they sustained. As they looked up, however, they noticed that nobody was here. They were alone. Horror struck at their faces as they were left to the whims of fate, with Fenrir trying to pick himself up, before a harsh yelp came out of his mouth.
BANG!!
A shot right at the shins, another at his leg. He'd be crippled over as he'd guard the Serpent, watching as the Soldiers were coming to. As they braced for such a death, ready to fight as much as they can, they were met with a harsh flash. Both the duo and the soldiers backed away from the light, before said light started to find their way into the latter's eyes through their masks. One by one, their eyes ignited, their masks exploded off, their mouths left agape as the radiance shot out of them, as if they were living batteries. The soldiers began to break down and return to their respective toy selves, breaking apart after taking such damage. As it dimmed, his face was seen proper. A man with white hair and golden eyes, a statue in human form. His physique was unlike any other, sculpted to perfection. a simple gown was around his body, but it quickly formed into proper attire once the threat subsided, a white leather jacket with pins and emblems all over, as if he was a living mosaic. Black pants and shoes to contrast the white, slightly dirty thanks to their antics. He'd turn his head to see the two, being quick to help them up and give them some potions to heal off the injuries you sustain. "Thanks, man... Thought we were dead there..." Adel panted, his breath harsh under pressure.
"No worries. The names Adikon. You stumbled in here by accident or?" The man asked.
"Participants, actually. We got gunned down after we overheard whatever was going on in that boot camp there."
"Ahh. Sergeant Callkin's Army Magic, I assume. Yeah, ever since he was given a job opportunity for King and one of his members, I doubt they'd want anyone to leak it. Where's your team, by any chance?"
"D'ah... next to yours? On the right side."
"Got it. I'll take you there. Hopefully the potions healed you well by the time we arrived. We'll help you with whatever extra rules are coming along in this race."
