The Power of Choosing Oneself
I leaned against the door and let out a quiet sigh, half relief, half disbelief. Everything had changed in a single day, yet somehow, it felt… right. I was relieved to have escaped a future with a contract husband, and, surprisingly, I had discovered his stepbrother instead.
But victory didn't come without scars.
Lilith's stare cold, venomous. Father's twisted expression, a furious tangle of shame and loss of control. Those images followed me into this room. I had escaped one cage only to face the wreckage of another.
I moved cleansing my face, washing away the makeup and the day's bitter residue. The warm water seemed to whisper that I was allowed to let go. Allowed to be clean. Allowed to start again.
Afterward, I unfurled the prayer mat. The familiar rhythm of prayers grounded me. Every movement pulled me back into myself and peace of minds.
