Cherreads

Chapter 213 - A Great Loss

Hearing the scream, Bian dashed towards the room and at the same time expanded the Dongxuan Sense.

He had wanted to avoid any strong person, as they would feel being tracked, but now he had to open it to search for trouble.

He pushed aside the personnel blocking his path and entered the room to a shocking sight.

A nurse was cradling her broken finger; she was the one who let out the sharp yelp.

Bian saw Han Yan and the baby she was holding. He slowly walked up to the two of them.

"Han Yan, I am..."

Han Yan motioned for him to shush and looked at the baby.

Bian also looked at his baby boy.

He had smooth, clear skin just like his parents. That was probably where their similarities ended.

He had pure silver hair and glowing blue eyes.

"He looks like an angel."

Bian couldn't help but comment.

"Haha." Han Yan laughed a bit before saying, "your angel just broke the nurse's finger."

Bian turned to face her. She wasn't a fighter, but the nurse was still an evolver. How could a newborn baby have broken her finger?

"We should take the baby."

The doctors had to take care of the baby and Han Yan needed to rest.

Bian brought out a weird torch with green fire. He flicked it towards the nurse with the broken finger, who was walking out.

"Ah, ah! It's hot. Are you crazy!"

She couldn't help but scream and curse, yet when the fire faded, she found that her broken finger had been healed.

"Sorry about that. I don't have another way of healing."

The doctors and nurses were shocked. Wasn't that a geno core, meaning this man right here was a demigod?

They quickly bowed and walked out of the room, leaving Han Yan and Bian.

Of course, Bian never deactivated the Dongxuan Sense, keeping an eye on the child so they didn't try to harm him or replace him.

'Well, I doubt they could find another baby with white hair and blue eyes.'

Bian turned back to Han Yan. He had been gone for months, leaving his pregnant wife to fend for herself.

He thought she must have been angry, but she looked weirdly sad.

"What happened?"

Bian asked with deep concern.

"There was an attack, it was really bad, Bian."

"But you're here, you made it out alive and delivered the baby. Everyone is okay."

Bian smiled, reassuring her.

"Not everyone, Bian."

Han Yan said, looking quite sad.

Bian felt his stomach clench. He didn't want her to speak, or he wanted her to say it was a kidnapping.

Something he could still fix.

The look in her eyes said otherwise though.

"It's Man Tian, he's dead."

Three months after Executioner Yellow went missing, Executioner Red and Black got a message from outside the sanctuary.

The scroll explicitly blamed them for all the deaths of the Executioners, asking why they did not move together as a team.

Executioner Red and Executioner Black had a couple of counterarguments or two to give, but it was just a letter; they couldn't respond to the message.

The letter mentioned that Executioner Yellow was most likely dead as well, but they knew this couldn't be true. They hadn't gotten any buffs from her after all.

When they got to the end of the letter, both Executioner Red and Ouyang Ming were shocked.

"If either of you two perish, I'll send someone else who can finish the job and it won't be only the anomaly they get rid of."

Since they read this letter, both had to cooperate to complete the mission and keep their powers, most importantly, their lives.

Bian hid it well, but Ouyang Ming was able to find the location where Bian and his family members lived.

Although reluctant, he told Executioner Red and the two visited his planet, destroying it entirely.

Executioner Black was a bit shocked to discover that Han Yan could actually move as fast as he could.

No matter how quick his strike was, she seemed like a mirage that could not be physically touched.

Executioner Black had a hard time reaching Han Yan, but he managed to keep her occupied until he drained all her energy.

Just then, he was blasted with a planet-destroying beam.

Ouyang Ming had to use all his power to block that attack and was powerless to track the Black Cruiser once it disappeared with Han Yan.

He went back to the planet, but it was bare, save for Executioner Red and the corpse of the person who went against him.

"Where are all the hostages?" Ouyang Ming asked.

"They got away. This one was quite the fighter; his powers commanded the universe itself, weakening me severely."

"You let them get away?"

Ouyang Ming sounded angry, but Executioner Red just scoffed.

"What took you so long with that girl?"

Even as the two walked towards a common goal, they both guarded against each other by avoiding going all out.

Right now, they knew they were probably the only two who could kill each other. Ouyang Ming had been observing Bian as much as he could. He could have killed him on multiple occasions, but rather, he used Bian to kill off the other Executioners.

If he had been the one to do so, they would have found out and banded together against him. He knew he was strong, but he wasn't delusional enough to believe he could beat multiple Executioners.

Since that day, Ouyang Ming could never find hair nor hide of their families. The only person who didn't stay completely hidden was Han Yan.

Her traces popped up all over the alliance, making it impossible to track her down. Worse still, Executioner Black found that his tracking powers were useless against her.

She could erase her presence with the Dongxuan Sutra and even more than that, the karma of the universe seemed to be on her side.

Five records went missing while he was going through them. Three suns exploded, nearly blinding him, while he used his powerful eyes. A whole organisation of bad guys wielding geno armor sprang up and chased after him after a freak accident.

The leader's daughter was in the same room as him and the building exploded due to an ancient bomb buried underneath.

Executioner Black must have cursed in a thousand different languages. These guys were actually more powerful than him, and if not for his speed, he would have been dead ten times over.

"Very good, New World Organisation! I, Ouyang Ming, am not the strongest while you are still around."

Dealing with those goons with geno armor was hard enough, but the ones with geno armaments had damaged him on multiple occasions, he had no spare energy to do anything else other than survive and evolve.

Back in the hospital room, Bian had his world drained of colour.

Han Yan came to him reading something, but he could barely hear her.

"Abnormal bone density, rapid muscle generation, ..."

Bian had a hunch that his son would be something special, because the Emperical Will would ensure he had the best traits ever.

He was supposed to be overjoyed right now, but even pretending to smile was too heavy on him.

Before Man Tian died, he had doubted him. He thought his best friend's wife could have been sent to kill him, but that wasn't the case.

He was a terrible friend in the end.

A small warm hand held his finger, snapping Bian out of his daze.

He looked at the electric blue eyes of the baby. They were the only source of light in his bleak world.

No, wait, his eyes were actually glowing.

"What should we name him?" Han Yan asked by his side.

Bian came up with a few awesome and legendary names, but all those names reminded him of Man Tian.

He didn't need his son to be a hero, he didn't need him to be great, he only needed him to be safe.

"Zhen Manwei."

"That's a lovely name. He'll have to stay with our family for now, the alliance isn't as safe as it used to be."

"We'll fix that soon."

Bian stood up and approached Han Yan. He held her by the back of her head and gently pressed their heads together.

[Queen Piece Set: Han Yan]

[Pawn Piece Set: Holy Angel]

[Pawn Piece has begun Promotion]

[Holy Angel is evolving]

[Pawn has been promoted to Bishop]

In her sea soul, Han Yan watched the Holy Angel evolve into her battle-ready form in the blink of an eye.

She also felt more free, space was laid out before her like an open book.

Bian also felt a connection to Han Yan and the Holy Angel. He could feel their physical status and their location at all times.

He looked at the wedding ring on her finger. The pure red gem embedded in the ring was a piece of his heart crystal that broke in the third sanctuary. He never expected he would be able to use it to find Han Yan.

Now he no longer needed that. With Han Yan as his Queen, he would never lose her again.

"Rest up for a couple of days. When you're back to full strength, we will dominate the entire Fourth Sanctuary to max out our genes and geno cores."

"Not so fast, you need to visit the Saints Hall. They have been trying to get a hold of you for months now. Let's go home first, then you can settle that later."

Bian simply nodded and they left the hospital. Han Yan boarded the Black Cruiser with Little Zhen while Bian flew beside them, heading to the hidden location where their families were living now.
