Bian spent time properly communicating with his family and he was surprised by all the things he learnt.
He didn't even know his youngest brother who was around three was once in the hospital with heart difficulties, then stayed with his mom's family for some time. He truly needed this free time to catch up with his family.
After a day with his family and in-laws, Bian was able to recover some colours in his darkened world.
It didn't change the fact that Man Tian had died though, and it was his fault.
If he wasn't involved with Bian, he never would have died to the Executioners.
"It's not your fault, you know."
Han Yan gently whispered to him by his side. Bian didn't know if she meant it, or if she was just trying to make him feel better.
"My eyes are so dry, I didn't even shed a teardrop."
"You're in shock, the news was too sudden. I'm sorry." She whispered the last part.
Bian didn't want Han Yan blaming herself. His feelings towards her helped him understand she probably felt the same and didn't want him blaming himself.
"It's alright. How did you even survive for so long while you were pregnant?"
"About that, I used up all our positive karma and built up mountains of debt. Because we are married, our karma is tied."
"Isn't that really bad? I didn't stub my toe or anything like that though."
"Of course not, but you're really underestimating the amount I used up. You wouldn't be stubbing your toes, it's more likely that a black hole would fall on your head. Normally, this negative karma would have spread to our son and family members, but I was able to keep it between the two of us."
Bian observed her and was suddenly aware that she was under some sort of pressure.
"I can keep the consequences of the negative karma at bay for as long as I'm alive, but it's really, really taxing."
"What should I do?" Bian eagerly asked. Obviously, restraining the karma for the rest of her life would be too taxing and too cruel.
"There's no magical fix this time. We just have to be good, do a lot of good to a lot of people. Not just the ones we know, but even strangers. Every good I do counts for you and every good you do counts for me, since we are one."
Bian took in a deep breath and considered her words. He would have to be intentional about doing more good to relieve Han Yan, the sooner, the better.
Now that Little Angel had evolved and Bian gave her the holy geno armor, her fighting powers had jumped by leaps and bounds.
Recalling how the armor wasn't compatible with anyone else reminded Bian that the Story of Genes was needed to use geno armors.
He already had the geno art memorised since his time in the second sanctuary, but his physique was too weak.
Even as a demigod, Bian only decided to start practising the Story of Genes now because he had fused with his geno core and thus was incredibly strong.
'Adding the Story of Genes, that would be three arts I'm practising in total. The Story of Genes, Dongxuan Sutra and the Inner Pillars.'
Jadeskin had already been absorbed by him to become Jadebody. He couldn't use the icy powers of Jadeskin, but his defence was most definitely over-exaggerated. It was a worthy trade-off for Bian.
Remembering Han Yan though, she practised Jadeskin, Dongxuan Sutra, Blood-Pulse Sutra and Falsified-Sky Sutra. As long as it was only four, evolution would be costly, but still possible.
"Be careful not to pick up any more geno arts. Just one more and you might not be able to evolve."
"Okay."

Early the next day, Bian saw a blue light coming from one of the rooms. Using the Dongxuan Sutra, he saw Bao'er asleep and little Zhen quietly looking around the room.
Zhen Manwei felt someone looking at him. He turned his gaze to outside the room, locking eyes with Bian.
"Very strong senses, can he see me through the wall?"
Bian went in and carried the little boy, who was always well behaved. The only issue was Little Zhen finished his weekly bottles in a single day.
They suspected it was because his blue eyes were always shining. Luckily, neither family lacked any funding. They bought a condensed version for the baby formula and stacked multiple of those as well.
Bian set up his commlink and was immediately overwhelmed with the number of messages.
The links they used were untraceable, but Bian decided to be cautious and wasn't free enough to answer everyone. He only responded to the Saints Hall, agreeing to miscellaneous tasks including classes on ancient languages in the Alliance Central Military Academy.
His class was set for tomorrow. Han Yan, although a bit weakened, had to head out to meet her grandfather, the legendary God Slayer.
Bian had offered to follow her, but she just shrugged and told him there was no need.
"Whether it's the royal shura or Grandpa Luo, she can handle them just fine."
As much as Bian would have loved to remain at home with his son, he had an urgent matter he had to attend to.
There was a little girl with blonde hair playing with Zero. No one would expect this little girl to be a powerful angel with a geno armor.
Bian knew he was strong, but he wasn't sure if he could handle an opponent with geno armor. There was one geno art that would allow him to steal his opponent's geno armor as long as it was a borrowed one.
Bian flew to the former home of the Xue family. After he had helped with the problem Jadeskin had, they no longer needed the ice-cold planet.
Of course, they wouldn't just abandon it, but moving people and infrastructure took time and a lot of planning. The planet was mostly desolate right now.
Bian found an ice cave to settle in and used Mental Point Targeting to go over the Story of Genes. He did that over and over, until he could recite the entire thing without Mental Point Targeting.
Then Bian began to practise the geno art. The requirements were very high; he knew no creature in the entire verse could practise it without the black crystal armor in his sea of soul.
As expected, nothing happened at first. Bian had to be patient and continue. Luckily, he didn't have to wait too long before the black crystal armor in his Sea of Soul reacted.
When Bian practised according to the Story of Genes, the black crystal armor had a mysterious power flowing through it. It felt as if the black crystal armor had a pulse, too.
Bian wasn't too surprised; he expected this to happen. He followed the Story of Genes to practise, and the black crystal armor's mysterious power started to move. It kept running through the armor.
As time went by, the black crystal armor's mysterious power grew stronger. When it completed a cycle, Bian did not need to use it anymore. The mysterious power started to run through the black crystal armor on its own.
The black crystal armor's mysterious power ran through many cycles. Suddenly, it flowed out of its body. It was like rain in spring, flowing into Bian's body. It kept running in the same cycle.
In the beginning, when the mysterious power nourished his cells, Bian felt as if he had eaten a life fruit. He took a deep breath and tried clearing his mind to prepare himself for the pain that would soon come.
Not long after, his face was twitching as he grimaced. It was not that the mysterious power was harmful. It was just that the mysterious power was too strong. It was only running through his body, but it was already too much for Bian to handle.
It was like a small river had been widened by a powerful flood. Even Bian's body was being torn apart by the mysterious power.
Blood dyed Bian's body red. Many of his muscles and veins exploded, and that was because the mysterious power was just running. It was not attacking him.
The mysterious power was not under his control. It was roaring inside his body, and it kept running.
Bian felt like his body was going to be destroyed by the mysterious power. His muscles, bones, and veins were all under attack. Bian's entire body was covered in blood. His muscles were torn, and his bones were cracked.
Just as Bian was starting to have second thoughts about this whole situation, the mysterious power completed a cycle in his body. It then left his body and returned to the black crystal armor.
The mysterious power had not caused any fatal damage, but it had damaged every part of his body. All of his cells had been damaged, and his recovery was slow.
Luckily, he could recover from this much damage with his natural abilities. As long as the injury was not too severe, like a lost limb or a perforated body part, he could slowly heal back to full strength.
"I need a good healer." Bian thought he should search for the silver fox later.
He summoned the Regen Torch and set its flame to maximum output. The fire couldn't burn through the frosty environment, since it wasn't that type of fire, but the frosty environment couldn't hinder it either because it wasn't a traditionally hot fire.
The green flames of the Regen Torch didn't damage clothes or hair; it could only heal.
Bian planted the torch in the ground and remained suspended in its fire. The same fire which once hurt badly only felt like a warm breeze now.
With the Regen Torch and his own natural healing abilities, he spent most of the day in the ice cave slowly recovering to about half his full strength.
Then he had to head back home to prepare for the class he would be taking the next day.
