CHAPTER 2 - RECOMMENDATIONS AND ENTRANCE EXAMS
The first day of training with All Might went well with Izuku. It went well because he took some days off for the incident with sludge villain.
The night wasn't like Izuku planned though, when he returned back at home.
"Izuku dear, there is a mail for you, it came from UA high" Inko told as she handed the mail to Izuku.
"A letter from UA? Not something I expected" he didn't waste anytime to tear of the mail to get a disc. "It is a projector" he had seen those type of projectors in action movies and now there is one infront of him.
Inko looked at Izuku with slight worried face before telling him to start the projection.
The teen did as his mother said and it showed a mouse like creature wearing formal suit. "He is the principal of UA, Nezu" Izuku quickly recognized the pro hero.
"Hello Izuku Midoriya, if you don't know I'm Nezu, the principal of UA high school" the projection of Nezu chimmed happily as he continued "Today I got a recommendation for you from Japan's number one hero All Might. He said that you have enough potential to be recommended. Many pros recommended their children or known children to get in UA but when someone like All Might did this means you have some potential. Me and staffs also saw your heroic deeds against the sludge villain and I can't be enough proud on someone who has a heart of hero and never hesitate to save anyone. But even with All Might's recommendation you have to give an exam alongside others who are recommended to pick the best in recommendations. Please send me an answer with this device so we can send you the exam dates. Have a nice day".
With that the video turned off, even though Izuku couldn't believe it Inko was on her way to faint.
"Izuku, did you hear that? Your idol recommended you to UA. This is the chance to prove that you are no villain. You're a hero in heart" Inko almost shouted hugging Izuku though the ninth weilder of One for All had another thoughts.
He patted his mother's head before saying "While I can't be more happy at this but I won't accept it. I will take regular exams to get in UA so no one can say I got in just because the number one hero pity me. I know that's not the truth but I can't hear it from anyone, while many people will criticize me for that but I won't forget what my ground is and what I want to be".
Izuku finished just to get the hug tighter with Inko now crying. No, they are not tears of sadness but tears of joy. Her son want to prove himself with everything he has, not by what he is given.
"I am proud of you my boy. I know All Might will understand it" Inko assured him.
"So what are chances he will accept the offer?" Nezu asked Yagi sitting infront of him in his skeletal state.
"If you ask me then it is a big zero though it would be better if he accepted that" Yagi laughed as he ate a ton of food now with his stomach present in him. "I can guarantee he is thinking 'people will say All Might showed pity bbecause he didn't want someone with a dangerous quirk becoming a villain'".
Nezu sighed warily "The superhiman society is too quick to judge anyone. Most of the villains are created by this unfair situations. Even though the society tried to shut down young Midoriya, he didn't let that run on him and you are the reason he still thinks to be a hero"
Yagi nodded vigoriously "I'm happy that the symbol of peace saved the lives which he never saw but inspired with his deeds. There are people who loose hope too soon before someone can grab their hand but some are too stubborn".
Nezu couldn't help but chukhle "Just like you"
Three days later when Izuku first stepped in Aldera junior high he was surprised as everyone greeted him politely while some even bowed. His class is also the same but he still doesn't know What is the reason.
Though someone didn't like what was going on.
"OI OI DAMN DEKU! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING YOU VILLAIN? YOU THINK YOU ARE ABOVE ME YOU SHITTY NERD. I'LL KILL YOU"
Katsuki grabbed Izuku by his shirt before crackling small explosions at his palm. Izuku didn't let himself falter by the murderous aura around Katsuki but before Katsuki could hit Izuku with his quirk the teacher rushed.
"Katsuki Bakugo, stand down. You will not use your quirk on Midoriya. He is your classmate and you threatened him so there will be detention for you" the teacher declared shutting the explosion user.
Katsuki's eyes widen as the teacher turned on him suddenly just because one news. He gritted his teeth knowing what Deku is really. He knew Deku touched the sludge villain with his left hand means he killed him but he was surprised when he found out that the villain was alive afterall. Then he realized, Deku now control over his quirk means he can put a person in death for a certain time.
He came out from his trail of thoughts when one of his underlings spoke "Do you know how much famous Midoriya is? He is recognized a hero by All Might of all people. You will get consequences if you hurt him".
Now Izuku know why are everyone nice to him. He is now famous who scolded three pros in public and recognized by All Might.
"It's not everything" the teacher started "Midoriya is now recommended to UA by none other than All Might. The staffs from UA came some days ago to check Izuku's files and with his score as a topper of Aldera junior high they accepted the recommendation".
This time everyone's jaw dropped to the ground floor. Katsuki was the one who fell on his butt not believing what he heard.
'Of cource even with All Might they will still check my performance of junior high' Izuku mentally said to himself while he heard some facepalms inside of his head, must be the vestiges of the previous weilders.
"Ahem" Izuku cleared his throat to gain attention towards him before saying "I declined the offer. I'll take normal exams to get in UA".
The teacher's face faltered in a moment though Izuku didn't wait for any answer. Spending time with All Might, he got some ideas about how to deal with people who just try to use you because of your fame.
Also from that day Katsuki ignored Izuku like the latter one is invisible.
With that 10 months passed Izuku training with Yagi, sometimes at Dagobah beach while sometime at a gym he bought just for Izuku to train and Izuku abused everything badly to get stronger to save people, but before getting in UA.
With new organs Yagi is not skinnier like before, he has gotten some muscles even in his normal state and with that he showed hell to Izuku.
With All Might's blessing, with his mother's blessing he is now standing infront of the gates of UA for his practical exams. He knew he topped the written exams but this is what he was waiting for.
As he was entering through someone tackled him with much force.
"Get out from my way Deku bastard" it was Katsuki, the same old Katsuki with a scowl on his face as he passed through Izuku.
The green haired teen was going to trip but he quickly regained his footing before grabbing a hand sneaking from his behind.
"Ow!"
A female voice cried from behind startling Izuku as he spun around before letting go of the hand and found a brunette with bob cut hair and pink rosy cheeks.
'She is cute' thought Izuku and getting some positive replies from his head.
"I'm sorry but I thought someone was sneaking on me so I did what came through reaction" Izuku bowed and quickly apologize.
The said brunette rubbed her hand before laughing nervously, clearly she was a bit intimidated by the figure of Izuku "It's all right. I thought you were going to trip so I was going to use my quirk to stop you but your reactions are amazing. But thank you, see you in the exams".
The girl quickly ran forward waving off at Izuku. While the latter stood there flabbergasted 'I really talked with a cute girl'.
'You should ask her name. You have no sense of talking with women. Since I'm a grown up woman I have teach you perfect manners for women' Nana's voice beamed through his mind while for some reason he gulped not liking Nana's voice.
Izuku finally found his seat at the giant auditorium but unfortunately Katsuki beside him though none of them talked.
"HEY LISTENERS"
A loud voice boomed through the auditorium revealing a blond man with sunglasses.
"It's present mic" Izuku somehow managed to get his notebook writing about the pro hero with hearing what he said.
One by one Present mic told the rules of the practical exams where they they have to fight three type faux villains and by defeating them they will get one to three points and whoever will get the most points in 30 minutes will pass.
Though in the middle of the speech a tall glass wearing boy stood up and complained about why the pro hero told them about three faux villains while there are four pictures showing at the giant screen.
Soon the examinee no. 7111 was shut down by saying the fourth villain was a zero pointer and attacking it means you will loose all of your points.
Soon the examinees were taken to a training ground which looked like a fucking(looking at you Kacchan) city.
Izuku was placed at the group C where he saw the nice girl looking nervous infront of him. When he tried to reach the girl the examinee no. 7111 stopped him.
"The girl is nervous and trying to concentrate. I know your types, you will break her concentration so she can't give her best in the exam"
Izuku frowned "You misunderstood, I was going approach her because she is looking nervous. Giving her a mental support would be good. What kind of hero will turn their face from someone who is seeking for confidence?"
And that stopped the glasses to say anything. Seeing the frozen examinee Izuku tried to get towards the girl until...
"START"
Present Mic suddenly shouted but everyone was baffled when the hero explained
"THERE WILL BE NO COUNTDOWN IN REAL LIFE SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?"
At that everyone rushed in except Izuku who did some squats before stretching his arms.
'Get your seatbelt on, I'm going to put the 6th gear' Izuku mentally yelled activating gearshift, the only quirk he managed to learn alongside danger sense, the latter was easy to learn when a certain number one hero throwing detroit smashes on you without mercy.
'There are only 5 gears you moron' Kudo mumbled.
Though Izuku didn't hear as he dashed in the training ground with the speed of 200 miles per hours. Izuku took off his glove from his left hand and swiftly touched the faux villains not even counting.
The other examinees could only see blurs before the faux villains crumbled away.
"HEY! WHO WAS THAT?"
"SOMEONE HAS A SUPER CAR OR BULLET TRAIN QUIRK?"
"WHY THE FAUX VILLAINS ARE CRUMBLING DOWN?"
"I STILL HAVE 0 POINTS FOR THAT SPEED QUIRK, HE STOLE MY TARGETS"
Many complaints were heard through the group C grounds.
"What the hell wrong with that broccoli head?" A feminine voice rang in a room watching the entrance exam.
"Domination is one thing but this no competition. Are you sure that boy is not another pro hero Ingenium?" The person whose head looking like a block of cement commented.
"Isn't the boy who declined All Might's recommendation offer?" The person with western cowboy outfit spoke.
Meanwhile All Might is also there, whistling innocently "Well whatever". He leaned forward but 'accidentally' hit a red button before apologizing "My bad but the real test is now".
"ONLY 2 MINUTES LEFT"
Izuku heard Present mic's warning as he is now walking was watching the others fighting the remaining villains.
'I'm exhausted using gearshift continuously with Death to get points. Btw how much I earned?' He questioned himself.
'I stopped counting after 50 since none of us has super vision' Yoichi hummed earning laughs from others.
Suddenly Izuku's danger sense kicked up and not so later the whole ground shook violently. He looked behind to see a giant villain coming forward destroying everything in it's path.
'Crap! I don't have any power for this and then hitting it means I'll loose my points' he thought to himself before jogging back with others.
"OWWW!"
A cry of pain rang in as Izuku suddenly turned behind knowing that particular voice. He found the nice girl was stuck under a rubble and the faux villain coming straight for the girl.
'The girl is in danger. Smash the giant ass of that robot and be her Knight in shining armor' Daigoto cheered.
'There are ways to save the girl. You will loose your points' Nana warned.
'I don't have time for this' Izuku thought and ran towards the faux villain leaving the examinee no. 7111 who saw Izuku going towards the robot. He stopped to see what will happen next.
Izuku jumped with force as his right arm covered with a mix of many crystal colored energy.
"EARTH-SHATTERING SMASHHHHHHHHH"
Izuku yelled and punched the giant robot which fell down in many pieces with Izuku.
'I used One for All in 100%' he saw his damaged arm and legs started to heal with his life energy. 'Even with Death's healing I need 10 seconds to recharge after using One for All at 100%. I'll fall down at this rate'.
Izuku knew he is helpless, no one will stop him from falling but miracles happened, he sensed a life energy coming towards and before he could slam in ground a hand touched him and he stopped falling.
"What?"
"Release"
Izuku saw the nice girl used her quirk and stopped his fall before releasing her quirk to make him land.
Though the girl quickly turned and threw up her stomach.
'A drawback?' Izuku questioned mentally.
"TIMES UP"
Present Mic shouted ending the exam.
"Hey! Are you fine?" Izuku went to the girl and patted her back trying to ease her illness she is feeling.
The said girl calmed in some minutes before looking back at Izuku "It should be my line Deku. You jumped and smashed that giant robot". The girl stopped before realizing the outcome for hitting the zero pointer. "You idiot, you lost all of your points just because of me. You could just run away, I could've get out with my quirk in some time".
The girl scolded earning a nervous laugh from Izuku "That was a possibility but what hero I could be if I saw someone needed help but I didn't go to help them. And besides there is always a next year so don't worry. Also thank you for saving me when I was falling".
The girl blushed at the praise. Then Izuku gave her his hand to help him to get up.
"Btw my name is Izuku Midoriya, not Deku, it was something I got in my middle school which means worthless"
The girl gasped "I'm sorry, I thought deku is derived version dekiru means 'you can do it'. I'm sorry if it was not like I thought".
"You can call me Deku then" Izuku replied quickly.
'That was so quick' Yoichi laughed.
"Btw I'm Ochako Uraraka. My quirk Zero Gravity can make anything gravityless"
Izuku guessed something like that but that was some fearsome ability, she can literally throw someone at space.
"Well my quirk is called Death, means whatever I touch with my left hand just dies. Well they loose their life force in a moment killing them while the life force stores inside of me. I can use it for superpower or super speed like you saw. Well I know my quirk is not a good one to use by a hero but what can I do"
Ochako gulped for a moment but quickly spoke "It's not true. I mean it sounds scary but a quirk cannot show the true nature of a person, the work and behaviour says. So don't think of it villainous".
Izuku was baffled, she said the same thing what All Might said to him with a smile. He couldn't help but smile "Thank you, my teacher said the same thing and that's why I'm here today. You better be a good hero or I'll be disappointed"
"What? No! No! No! No!" Ochako quickly protested "I'll try to be a good hero"
"Oh my~ what a nice couple I'm seeing" a new elderly voice spoke as Izuku and Ochako turned to the new appearance with crimson blush.
"You're the youthful heroine - Recovery Girl" Izuku exclaimed entering in his fanboy mode only to make the elder heroine laugh as she replied "Yes I'm the Recovery Girl. Now if you're hurt then let me heal your injuries".
Ochako spoke first "I hurt my ancle". Though when she pressed forward her right leg she couldn't feel any injury coming from there "What? My ancle isn't hurting anymore? But it was hurt badly and even I couldn't stand without Deku's help".
Ohacko was flabbergasted though Recovery Girl wasn't. She knew the boy's quirk and how it works. Ohacko though came back from her panic when she heard silent laughter from Izuku beside her.
"Sorry, I healed you. If we meet again then I'll tell about how I healed you" Izuku then let go of Ochako before running out.
Meanwhile the examinee no. 7111 saw the whole fiasco until Izuku went to ochako to help her.
'If it was not an exam then I would do the same' he thought. 'No, it is an excuse. He just did it bcz he wanted to save the girl. He sure noticed some hidden meaning of it' he gave his own thought before leaving.
In a room some figures looked at their respective monitors infront of them.
"This batch has talents. Look at group B, Katsuki Bakugo" the pro hero named Hound Dog spoke.
While the others nodded in agreement until Power Loader replied "He scored 77 villain points and grabbed the 2nd place without any rescue points".
Pro Cementoss agreed but gave his thought "Though Izuku Midoriya from Group C is the one who rampaged. Gathering 96 villain points with 60 rescue points. He even smashed the zero pointer like nothing".
Pro hero Thirteen spoke then "But his quirk hasn't any ability like that or what the reports says. If he did this means he learned many aspects of his quirk. Of cource we can see this performance from the student who was recommended by All Might himself".
"But Aizawa-kun" the principal got attention of the bored looking person as he continued "Please look after Katsuki Bakugo. After we saw his previous actions at Aldera Junior high we can't let him continue this".
Aizawa raised his eyebrow until Nezu turned on the giant screen where some video footages were shown of Katsuki and Izuku at their previous school.
"THIS IS ABSURD" Vlad kind shouted and slammed his hands on the table "HOW CAN UA LET SOMEONE WITH THAT MINDSET ENROLL HERE?"
"I agree with Vlad king" pro hero Ectoplasm gave his voice "A rising hero suggesting another one to commit suicide because of his quirk. They may think they are superior because they have some flashy quirk and pushing others into a villainy path are actual villains"
"That boy is in my shitlist even before I could see with my eyes" Shota Aizawa grunted "Let him come to my class". He grinned knowing how to handle them.
Izuku Midoriya - 96 villain points, 60 rescue points
Katsuki Bakugo - 77 villain points
Eijiro Kirishima - 40 villain points, 25 rescue points
Itsuka Kendo - 25 villain points, 35 rescue points
Ochako Uraraka - 19 villain points, 40 rescue points
The top 5 students who passed the entrance exams.
One week passed since the exams, since then All Might didn't call or text him. He didn't tell Inko about loosing points but only told her that he did good in the exams.
Inko was happy about it but only Izuku knew the truth. Though he didn't regret what he did for Ochako.
The vestiges of One for All chewed him though for not taking her number.
Currently Izuku is slumped on his desk observing the hero figures he bought over the years. There are many All Might figures though he has an Endeavor and Hawks figure. Also there is a Midnight figure with outfit of breastless leotard and the breasts are covered with tapes. Inko bought that one for some reason one time she couldn't grab an All Might figure. The figure was banned later for that erotic costume and Izuku is glad that he has it.
There is also a Mirko and Ryukuu's figure alongside the wild wild pussycats swimsuit edition he bought last year.
Izuku was eyeing the figures before Inko slammed door open knocking Izuku out from his daze.
"What happened mom?" Izuku questioned as Inko looked she was chased by an international villain.
"It is here, from UA" she showed the mail to Izuku with a grin.
Izuku snatched the letter from Inko ripping it open he saw the same projector Nezu sent him 10 months ago.
He quickly started the projection and the number one is infront of him again.
"I AM HERE AS A PROJECTION"
"All Might?" Both Izuku and Inko were surprised.
"I'm sorry for not telling you this but I actually joined UA as a faculty member. Even though I trained you I was not a judge at the practical exam so you were judged fairly by other faculty members"
"It is saying you earned the top place at written exams while earned a total 96 villain points in the practical exam but as per rule attacking the zero pointer means you will loose all of your points and you did it"
Izuku slumped slightly knowing what he did but...
"... But before I say you failed see this"
The screen showed Ohacko talking with Present Mic.
"That's the nice girl, Ochako Uraraka" Izuku recognized her while Inko gave him a look saying 'Your future girlfriend?'.
"Present Mic Sir. The other examinee Izuku Midoriya, he saved the me from the zero pointer and he lost all of his points bcz of me. Can you share half of my points with him so he can pass?" She begged the pro hero for him.
"Wait! She did that. Oh no! I hope they didn't listen to her and in the end she also failed" Izuku sweated hoping something like that didn't happen.
Present Mic gently patted Ochako's head before saying "Do not worry Young listener, no heroic work never went unnoticed in any time. However we can't do what you requested but I can say wait for results".
With that the video ended showing All Might "As per rules you failed but heroes first and most important rule is to save those need help and how can we unsee something like that. So Izuku Midoriya with 96 villain points and 60 rescue points earned a total of 156 points to get the first position. With Ochako Uraraka 19 villain points and 40 rescue points. You are accepted to UA high so come, it is now your Hero Academia"
With that the projection ended leaving Izuku shell shocked until Inko shouted hugging Izuku.
"YOU PASSED, MY BABY BOY PASSED AND HE WILL GO TO UA TO BE THE NUMBER ONE HERO" Inko cried and kissed all over Izuku's face continuing "I AM SO PROUD OF YOU IZUKU, YOUR DAD IS ALSO PROUD OF YOU".
Izuku couldn't help but cry with happiness hugging back his mother.
In some moments a call rang im Izuku's phone who answered it "Hello All Might".
"Ahh Young Midoriya, I can hear the happiness of your voice. But do not let this go over you. The real thing is coming next"
"I know All Might and I know I can do this, why? Bcz I'm all fired up" he put more enthusiasm in the last imitating his idol.
"Hahaha... I'm waiting at UA. Do your best, PLUS ULTRA"
"PLUS ULTRA"
All Might cut the call after that while Izuku waited for Monday to start his school. It's Saturday night so he has a full day before UA.
Soon the Monday came as Izuku was ready for the first day of UA.
"Did you take handkerchief?"
"Yes mom"
"Water bottle?"
"Yes"
"Wallet and money?"
"Yes mom. I took everything I needed" Izuku knew if he gave Inko more chances then he had to face 100 questions so better stop here.
Inko laughed "Then best of luck for your first day. Also don't forget to ask a date to Uraraka-chan. She did help you with everything she had so you must repay her".
Izuku blushed "That's not how it works"
Later Izuku found himself surronded in train when he was on his way.
"Hey you're the guy who scolded the pros without hesitation during the sludge villain incident" someone exclaimed.
Almost every eyes fixed on Izuku and his social awkwardness is still there he blushed and rubbed the back off his head sheepishly.
"You're going to UA, that's great. We need someone like you who will show the pros how to work properly"
"Nice muscles hunk, please date me future hero" a girl few older than him inclined.
Though somehow Izuku managed to get off from them. In his mind he is happy to know people started to see him as a hero.
"1-A! 1-A! 1-A!" Izuku mused as he walked in the corridor until he found the huge door of class 1-A.
'Woah! These doors are huge, maybe for gigantic heros like Mt. Lady' he thought before opening door to hear an arguement.
"Please take down your legs from the desk. You're insulting the upperclassmen who studied on that desk" it's the same examinee no. 7111 who choped the air roboticly and scolding Katsuki who grunted.
"Shut up four-eyes or I'll murder you" Katsuki barked out .
The other boy looked baffled how Katsuki threatened him "Murder? Such violent words, did you really come to be a hero?"
"Heh? What was that? What school you strudied?" Katsuki again barked angrily crackling small explosions.
"I'm sorry that I didn't introduce myself. I'm Tenya Iida from Somei Private academy"
"What? Somei? You're some rich guy means I've enough reasons to kick your ass"
Katsuki grinned while Tenya tried to answer until they heard a loud sigh. Turning their heads they saw Izuku at door.
Meanwhile Izuku just eyed the whole class until he looked again the two and thought 'Just my luck'.
'Don't be down by that, the spiky ponytail girl looks good. Try to think of her' Daigoro consoled.
'That Guy's face is like a crow? Is he a mutant type' Yoichi mused.
Then Tenya left Katsuki who glared at Izuku while the glass wearing kid came to Izuku fast.
"I'm Tenya..."
He was stopped when Izuku spoke "I know. I heard your intro with Kacchan. I'm Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you"
Izuku tried to be polite but it was hard with Tenya's stotic face as the kid replied "I'm sorry for not getting the hidden meaning in the practical exam when you went to fight the zero pointer. I couldn't realize but you did"
Izuku was getting overwhelmed but he quickly replied "I'm sorry but I didn't realize anything"
Tenya stopped and looked at Izuku baffled. If he didn't realize then why did he do that?
"I just did what a hero should do. Save anyone who needs help even it means I've to sacrifice myself. Besides that I didn't realize anything" Izuku said the truth.
"That's why I must thank you again" a voice beamed from Izuku's back.
Turning back Izuku saw ohacko as he replied "No I must thank you. You tried to help me also after that. They kinda showed me the video where you asked to Present Mic to give half of your points".
Ochako blushed at complement but Izuku suddenly looked over Ochako's shoulder and saw a yellow caterpillar.
No, it's not a caterpillar but a person with shaggy black hair and bored eyes sleeping in a sleeping bag.
'Is he our homeroom teacher? Why my danger sense kicked out?' Izuku mused at the bored looking man. While Tenya and Ochako also saw the yellow caterpillar and almost freaked out.
"You noticed the moment I came here but the others took 8 seconds to realize. If you want to be a hero then you can't slack off"
The caterpillar who introduced himself as Shota Aizawa, their homeroom teacher dragged himself in the class.
"Now put the PE uniform you were given and come at the training grounds. This is UA High Hero Cource and you have no time to waste" with that Aizawa left.
Soon 20 students of class 1-A gathered at training ground where Aizawa was waiting for them.
Seeing the students Aizawa spoke "You will be taking Quirk apprehension test".
