Chapter 4595: The Calamity Bound One
The Primal Chaos Stone had seen many Supremes rush into the Life Restricted Zone, only to perish, their paths and bodies erased.
Among these, Breaking Blue Emperor lasted ten breaths the longest.
Most Supremes lasted only one breath.
No one less than a breath, and no one more than ten.
That was the standard for Supremes. If you're just a Sovereign (Grand Lord), you couldn't last even a hundredth of a breath; Lin Moyu surviving a tenth was already extraordinary, stronger than a Grand Lord.
Yet Lin Moyu was still in the Chaos Realm, his body and soul only just at Sovereign not even close to his peak.
There was a grave look in the Primal Chaos Stone's eyes, "If that mirror didn't misread, and it really is that 'existence,' maybe there's a chance to reach unimaginable heights in the Life Restricted Zone."
"Weird I can't recall the identity of that existence, though I know he's in my memory."
That fragment of memory was vivid; at first sight, the Primal Chaos Stone sensed that unspeakable terror.
But probing deeper, no specifics came he couldn't recall even a sliver.
Worse still, trying to tell Lin Moyu anything about it, he found himself unable to utter a word.
The Stone truly couldn't fathom what was happening. After much thought, he instead told Lin Moyu about Breaking Blue Emperor.
He reasoned: only if Lin Moyu could surpass Broken Blue, to roam freely in the Life Restricted Zone, would the mystery be unraveled.
For the Primal Chaos Stone, there weren't many unknowns so discovering this chasm drove him to seek answers.
Now, Lin Moyu kept dying and reviving in the Life Restricted Zone, steadily growing stronger, starting to adjust fully to the hostile power; things were progressing well.
"To fully adapt to the Life Restricted Zone and shatter the boundaries of heaven and earth this is something to anticipate."
As Lin Moyu's deaths mounted, he advanced stably through the Sovereign tier. Suddenly, the Primal Chaos Stone looked to the horizon not at chaos or the wilderness, but at the entire world.
"Strange the pace of the calamity is speeding up!"
He observed changes in the world; the pace of heavenly tribulation (great calamity) seemed to have quickened.
Each round of calamity has its own process, essentially uninfluenced by external forces.
This is stipulated by heaven's rules only a Supreme, perhaps, can affect it.
But now, the cycle suddenly sped up, and the Primal Chaos Stone, after careful watching, noticed the cause was the shredded and battered Lin Moyu.
"It's master's power shift speeding things along."
"But why he's only a Sovereign; how could that upset the process?"
"It just doesn't add up must investigate further."
The Primal Chaos Stone's mind flashed; the Realm Gem lit up, showing one scene after another of events in this world all captured by the Thought Gem.
The Element Gem began to shine, and the flow of time descended into the Realm Gem, making things even clearer.
Element Gems rule all elements in the world, including intangible ones like time and space.
The Disaster Scepter's true potential was not yet tapped Lin Moyu had only ever used its surface powers.
With the Element Gem and Realm Gem together, the process of this celestial calamity unfolded plainly.
Peerlessly focused, the Primal Chaos Stone watched, "Apart from the sudden onset, everything seems normal. But why do I feel something's wrong where's the issue?"
He wondered more, then reversed the flow Realm and Element Gems glowing as images rewound.
Time spun faster, until the previous, second round of calamity showed up.
Back then, Chaos Wilderness had fully developed life, and, according to the world's rules, the second round of calamity erupted.
Countless lives perished; from disaster came a new Supreme.
But the Stone didn't care about the content of the calamity he focused on the time gap between the second strike and the third.
Light glinted in his eyes, a confident smile on his lips, "Found it the gap between calamities was only thirty billion years."
In every world he'd ever seen, the gap between calamities was about a hundred billion years some as long as 350 billion, some as short as 90 billion, but never less.
"But here only thirty billion. That's odd."
With the gap so short, there had to be a reason.
He didn't give up hunting for the answer; he checked what happened at the start of this cycle, scrutinizing every aspect, but everything seemed normal.
Not even the world's rules showed any chaos; normally, before a tribulation there's some sign the rules shift slightly.
This time, though, the world seemed fine, and then "Bam" the calamity spontaneously erupted.
"Darn it tribulation doesn't just happen. There must be a trigger what was it?"
The Stone instinctively looked again at the chunk of mangled flesh. "Could it be master?"
Then he checked what Lin Moyu was doing at that moment in his view, Lin Moyu was the most unique being in this world.
If anyone could provoke a change in heaven, precipitate disaster early, it'd be Lin Moyu.
He accurately pinpointed Lin Moyu in time; the scene showed that familiar shredded body Lin Moyu was self destructing in the Western Pure Land.
He couldn't see what was happening inside the spatial storage, so his judgment had to go by surface clues.
"It must have been master's doing the last self destruction pushed forward the calamity, and this time dying sped it up even more."
"Is it master's world that's affecting this one?" (Ma Wang Hao)
"Looks that way. That means master's the calamity bound if he can make it through, odds of becoming a true powerhouse are high."
"But getting through as the calamity bound is extremely tough; master must start preparing now."
The Primal Chaos Stone had seen many calamity bound individuals their ends were tragic; sometimes death was actually the best outcome.
In the past, he wouldn't have cared; though he called Lin Moyu 'master,' he wasn't invested if Lin Moyu died, the Stone could just pick a new one as long as it didn't end up back in the Life Restricted Zone.
But now, since seeing the mirror and facing these mysteries, the Stone became much more attentive about Lin Moyu.
He hoped Lin Moyu would live well and grow ever stronger, eventually entering the Life Restricted Zone with the Stone along, to explore the unknown depths.
