The next morning, Elsa woke up to find the space next to her empty. Groggily, she yawned before making her way towards the kitchen where a tall figure stood making a plate of pancakes with juice.
"Good morning", she said, giving Nick a light kiss on the cheek. He turned back and with a smile nodded before going back to making the pancakes. They had breakfast at nine and after thirty minutes Nick went off to work.
Elsa looked down the balcony towards the car the man was driving, deep in thought. Work. Nick had been very vague when it came to his occupation. He always said a whole lot of things that ended up confusing her, but then he'd smile and say it was for the better. Maybe it was.
At about eleven, Elsa, took her own car to a local grocery store for some items. As she pushed the cart around, she thought how this was now her life. Although content, she couldn't help but feel like it should not be this way, and that a huge part of her being was missing.
All of a sudden, a figure dashed past Elsa and headed towards the cashier in a mask. Upon reaching, he unhesitatingly took out a black pistol from God knows where and pointed it towards the cashier before him and in a circular motion pointed it towards all the people in the store.
"All of you, get on your knees", he said loudly. All the moms and dads in the store cowered in fear and kneeled, quivering. Except for one person.
Elsa stood still, not out of fear, but just because she was trying to understand why she couldn't feel it. She calmly turned her gaze towards the robber who now had his sight set on her in a menacing way. Upon seeing the stubbornness of the woman before him, he pulled the trigger.....
Two bullets lined up in succession, making their way towards Elsa, and just when they were an inch towards her, she turned her body slightly, making the bullets zoom past her into the wall. But the sound of the bullets seemed to have triggered something in her, and when she looked towards the man, her eyes were filled with pure evil.
...…
An hour later, policemen were all over the grocery store, ensuring the safety of the people in it. Before the entrance lay a man in a mask, beaten till he couldn't even be identified by his own family. They immediately took him into an ambulance before they started investigating what had transpired. The people in the store seemed fine, but their eyes...they seemed heavily traumatized. When asked who had taken on the masked robber, they all pointed a shaking finger towards one woman. Elsa.
...….
In the Police Station, the Chief sat before his computer, reviewing the surveillance footage from the store. His eyes watched as the woman swiftly dodged a string of bullets before going on to brutally kick the man and punch his face till blood seeped out of every hole. After he finished reviewing the footage, the Chief sat in silence for a while, thinking of how he had never seen someone use such deadly combat teachniques before.
'Something about them, just seems familiar', he thought. As he was about to save the video and learn a thing or two from it, two knocks came from his door before a tall man dressed in a suit entered his office. The Chief immediately stood, shocked at the sudden appearance.
"Sir", he said respectfully. The man gave a slight nod before moving his attention towards his computer, eyes dark and cold.
"Delete it", he said. The Chief was puzzled, and at first wanted to refute, but after reminding himself of the power of the man, he sighed and deleted all traces of the video. After that was done, the man unhurriedly went out of the office without another word.
