Chapter 395 - Chapter 395: Swift Action

Kalia swiftly engaged her Pokemon in battle, drawing the attention of the three Trainers who turned to face her.

They were surprised that any Trainer would dare intervene, as several others attending the Flora Expo had refrained from stepping in.

The tall Trainer, having witnessed Lian's prowess, initially assumed Kalia was also a high-level Trainer. However, upon seeing the badge on her shoulder, he was taken aback.

Noticing this, the other two Trainers sneered and said, "Little girl, don't get involved; you're no match for us. With just these few Pokemon, you can't possibly stop us."

While encountering interference from another Trainer was unexpected, they were relieved it was only a mid-level one, posing little threat.

None of the other Trainers in the crowd dared to act, knowing that confronting these three high-level Trainers would not only challenge them but also risk offending the Nora Corporation.

Although the Nora Corporation appeared to be merely a film company, its influence extended far beyond, making it a formidable entity that ordinary Trainers couldn't afford to provoke.

Offending Nora aside, even for a seasoned high-level Trainer, taking on three equally skilled opponents simultaneously would be daunting. Although their Pokemon's individual strengths were comparable, the numerical disadvantage was overwhelming.

Despite Lian defeating two Pokemon, the remaining trio still had around seven or eight primary Pokemon at their disposal, excluding those currently engaged with Celebi.

Kalia only had four Pokemon, and apart from Lian's, the others were all mid-level in strength. Considering both quantity and power, victory seemed nearly impossible.

However, Kalia disregarded these odds; her sole focus was to prevent Celebi's capture. Once caught, no one knew what Nora might do to it.

Unaware of what other Trainers present might think, she resolved to confront the three high-level Trainers, despite the likelihood of failure.

"Sceptile, Blaziken, go battle! Just try to stall as much as possible, Ninetales, assist Charizard!" Kalia commanded. Sceptile and Blaziken entered the fray, but her priority was to avoid any injuries, aiming primarily to buy time.

The outcome largely depended on Charizard's performance. With just one move earlier, it nearly defeated two Pokemon. Combined with Ninetales' assistance, Charizard's combat potential became incredibly formidable.

Moreover, Charizard possessed Z-Moves, which could be unleashed at critical moments to counter their opponents' Pokemon.

Lian glanced around, assessing the situation. Although the opposing team had three Trainers and more Pokemon, solely relying on the tall Trainer would not suffice against Kalia. He only had three Pokemon left, including a Scyther that Lian held an advantage over.

Consequently, another Trainer would inevitably deploy their primary Pokemon alongside the tall Trainer to confront Lian and Sceptile.

This reduced the pressure on Celebi significantly. Despite weakening considerably after using Healing Wish, as a legendary Pokémon, it couldn't be easily defeated by mere high-level Trainers' Pokemon.

Time was still on their side; however, once Celebi fell, all three Trainers focusing simultaneously on Lian and his allies would leave no chance for victory.

The opposing Trainers were high-level, not amateurs with random Pokémon. Their trained creatures possessed significant strength. Although Lian effortlessly defeated Raichu and Feraligatr, it was only due to his all-out efforts.

Both Air Slash and Flame Spiral were Lian's most proficient and frequently used offensive moves. Unless he utilized a Z-Move, engaging multiple Pokémon simultaneously would be challenging.

However, activating a Z-Move wasn't straightforward; it required Kalia's synchronization.

Of course, Lian's bond with Kalia had nearly reached 100%, making it relatively easy for them to quickly unleash a Z-Move if needed.

The battle continued, aided by Ninetales' assistance. The weather gradually transformed into a scorching Sunny Day, enhancing Lian's Solar Power ability, boosting his overall strength.

Lian resumed his attacks. One Flame Spiral alone did not exhaust his Fire-type energy reserves. As a Level 50 Charizard, he could now comfortably use Flamethrower two or three times consecutively without issue.

The energy consumption of Flame Spiral was similar to Flamethrower, with the main difference being that Lian needed to control the spiral motion, which wasn't challenging for him at this point.

Meanwhile, the tall trainer had deployed his final three Pokémon, recalling the two nearly incapacitated ones back into their Poké Balls.

These three Pokémon were exceptionally strong: alongside the Scythers, there were Nidoking and Nidoqueen, both formidable Ground-types.

Although Nidoking and Nidoqueen's base stats weren't exceptionally high, their combat capabilities were impressive due to their Poison and Ground-type attributes, making them highly effective in close-range battles.

Previously, the tall trainer hadn't sent these two out because they lacked suitable moves against flying types. However, now that Kalia's Sceptile and Blaziken were grounded Pokémon, Nidoking and Nidoqueen finally had clear targets. Combined with the Scythers, the pressure on Sceptile and Blaziken significantly increased.

At the same time, the other two Trainers also released their Pokémon. Among them, two specialized in long-range moves, clearly aimed at countering Lian soaring in the sky.

As they issued commands to their Pokemon, Lian didn't give them any time and immediately launched his attack. He knew that hesitation would allow their Pokemon to position themselves effectively, making it difficult for him, no matter how strong he was, to overcome such numerical disadvantage.

Thus, seizing this opportunity, eliminating one opponent's Pokemon would be advantageous, reducing the pressure during subsequent battles.

Lian anticipated that Sceptile and Blaziken might struggle against Nidoking, Nidoqueen, and Scyther due to being outnumbered three to two. Moreover, the opposing Pokemon were high-tier, likely possessing superior abilities compared to Sceptile, let alone Blaziken.

Boom!

Once again, Lian unleashed a Flame Spiral, employing the Twin Flames technique. Mid-flight, the single spiral split into two distinct flames under Lian's precise control, simultaneously targeting both opponents.

One of his targets was naturally the Scyther; a direct hit would significantly diminish its combat effectiveness.

The other target was the Flying-type Pokémon from the second Trainer. By neutralizing the flying types, Lian could force them to rely solely on ranged attacks.

This would grant Lian strategic advantage, potentially even allowing him to assist Celebi in escaping its predicament.
