Chapter 330 - Chapter 330 - The Summoning of the Kings.

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV

Ellander.

...

...

Madara was attacked early in the morning, with Ciri sniffling and rubbing her face against his chest, squeezing him tightly with the sound of someone hugging something excitedly after just waking up.

Madara opened his eyes and turned his gaze to her, while she let out a little giggle, one eye half-open, satisfied for having woken him up.

"Are you excited?" he said.

"And why wouldn't I be? I woke up today knowing we have one less problem," she said sleepily, but happily.

Madara gave a small smile before running his hand over her body until it reached her belly, giving it a gentle caress.

"He will be among us, soon..." Ciri said, with a soft smile on her face.

Madara said nothing, but nodded. It was a strange feeling. He would be a father soon, but that sense of belonging was already within him as he looked at that belly carrying his son.

They would have their first child. But, at the same time, there was a however, since they would not be able to stay with him. Not now. These were not only heavy feelings, but necessary ones as well.

Ciri and Madara still needed to fight out there. At the very least, they needed to deal with the Wild Hunt, Nilfgaard, the other continent, and the dark dimension. There were four obstacles before they could finally live in harmony in that world.

The child would have to be hidden until then.

"What is it?" Ciri did not fail to ask when she saw Madara's expression. Even though he hid it well with an indifferent face, she already knew him well enough to know that he was worried.

And when her husband was worried about something, things were not simple.

"I was thinking... maybe it's better to leave him here at the temple, Nenneke can take care of him after he is born," he said.

Ciri could not help but feel saddened upon hearing that.

It was a conversation they had already had some time ago, but it was necessary. Ciri never liked touching on the subject, but now, with the pregnancy nearing its end, there was no more way to avoid it.

"Can we at least stay with him for a while, right?" Ciri asked, hurt.

"Yes. But our enemies will not wait long, Ciri. We need to leave him here for a while, until we can deal with them all. But if you want to stay with him, I will handle everything alone," Madara said.

But she shook her head while sniffling against his neck even more, and he felt her tears falling.

"No... I will go with you, because that way we will finish faster. They are my enemies too, just as they are yours, my love. I just don't want our child to be angry with us for neglecting him. A day will come when he will ask about us... I'm afraid he will think we are abandoning him... I wanted to see him grow up, Madara," she said in tears.

Madara hugged her, giving light pats on her back.

"Unfortunately that will happen. But we can only finish it as quickly as possible," Madara said.

He knew that what would come next would not be something that lasted a few months. It would take at least one year, two, or even three. Maybe even more. There were many obstacles ahead.

Ciri and Madara were only nineteen years old, and soon they would have their son.

"Yes... we will finish as quickly as possible, my love," Ciri said with conviction.

They stayed there for a while until Ciri calmed down a little. Madara also gave her a massage, pleasing and relaxing his wife. After that, they left the room to join the others. After all, they had many things to talk about. Yennefer had not even shown up yet at that moment.

"Madara!" she exclaimed when he arrived at the table, with an urgent look.

"Let me guess... the entire continent is upside down, or at least, the Northern Kingdoms?" Madara asked, while eating bread with honey alongside Ciri, Geralt, and Vesemir at the table.

"You have no idea..." Yennefer replied, making a small pause.

"They want answers. They are pressuring me to find out where you are. Even Tissaia wants to come here, she also needs answers, all the monarchs are pressing her..."

"What happened last night, the dragon attack on the main cities, made the entire North take action. No king is comfortable knowing that their own cities or those of neighboring kingdoms were attacked by dragons. And they also want to know why... about you and about the organization called Akatsuki."

Ciri looked worriedly at Madara, while he merely shrugged.

"All the dragons have been dealt with. They are no longer a threat. If they want to complain about something, let them complain."

They were not only worried about the dragon attack, but also about Madara's powers, which had begun to demonstrate much of what he was capable of during the war. He could create multiple Susanoos using clones, massacring all the dragons, even though they were three, four, or five times larger than the Susanoo Madara could create with legs, without being the perfect one.

But Madara was not the least bit worried about the Northern Kingdoms. In fact, he did not even need to bother with them now. He had 83% of the system; after defeating Gaunter, he had received more percentage unlocked from the system and had gained even more chakra. But he restrained it so as not to explode after the battle.

That chakra he would have to control better later.

But now, he had a complete Susanoo, capable of bringing any army to its knees. The North was no longer a concern. And Nilfgaard could also be destroyed easily, even though they were already preparing for another war. The rumors of his powers that night would have to immediately curb Emhyr's ambitions. And also, from what had happened in Toussaint, it had already become quite clear that he would not be easy prey.

"The kings want to hold an emergency meeting. They are summoning you," she said, but she seemed cautious with her next words. "They are summoning you not only to explain... but as a representative of Cintra, just like Ciri."

Ciri was surprised by that.

"They recognized our marriage more than 10 months ago... Obviously they expect us to govern Cintra in the future with our current powers, they are afraid, but at the same time curious," she said.

Ciri heard that and nodded. "What are we going to do?" she asked.

"Obviously your pregnancy must be concealed. But your absence could also cause suspicion, even if we decide not to go..." Madara said thoughtfully, while looking at Yennefer.

"But, if she appears, it could be beneficial for us, as long as we can hide the pregnancy. After all, no one will be looking for a possible heir. Not as if they would suspect without having a reason, and Ciri's absence would raise more doubts," Madara said, still looking at Yennefer.

"There is some illusion technique for this, correct? Is it possible to do it?" Madara asked.

Yennefer nodded. "Yes, it is possible. But I will need help. Triss and Tissaia already know about the pregnancy, so there is no problem involving them. We can place an illusion through an object, perhaps a necklace. It would remain active the whole time," she began to debate with herself.

"Great. There is no way to escape this if we want to rule Cintra without suspicion from the neighbors or their fear. It is better to start getting used to the kings, as much as I hope this will be one of the few meetings we will have with them," Madara said, looking seriously at Ciri.

"A meeting with all the kings... not even my grandmother had that," Ciri murmured. It was not common for all of them to gather like that.

Which also meant that the Coup of Thanedd was about to happen, because it would not be only the kings who would talk about what was happening with the dragons, Nilfgaard's position, and also the situation of Madara and Ciri as those who could hold the throne of Cintra.

The mages would certainly organize a meeting of their own and, possibly, begin political intrigues. There were always fools willing to try something. But Madara was curious to see how it would unfold. After all, Vilgefortz no longer existed, being one of the minds that orchestrated that slaughter during the Coup of Thanedd. And Madara Uchiha would be a name that everyone should reconsider before making any political move.

It would also be a chance to see who still supported Nilfgaard among the mages, which should be a minority.

After breakfast, Madara teleported to Novigrad, where he saw a message left by Triss informing that she was in Aretuza. He only checked a few things in the city. Novigrad had not been attacked, but they had certainly heard the rumors.

Dijkstra himself was in the city. Madara appeared at the bathhouse and spoke with him for no more than ten minutes.

Dijkstra did not fail to ask whether Madara intended to attack any king at this meeting when he said he would participate. He was worried about King Radovid, obviously. But Madara assured him that he would attend the meeting precisely to talk, since he needed to make a public appearance before all the kings of the North as the representative of Cintra.

He could simply ignore it. But being too arrogant could cause problems in the future. If Cintra wanted to prosper before the North, it would not be wise to create unnecessary enemies, no matter how powerful Madara was or how capable he was of destroying anyone.

Madara left Novigrad and, after that, went to Aretuza. The academy was not calm at all either. The students gossiped with one another about the events of the previous night. According to what they had heard from the teachers, who had received news about the chaos, even the classes had been canceled.

The sorcerers had to immediately meet with important figures to try to understand what had happened, while the man most involved in all that mess walked past them without being noticed.

He saw Isabella in a corner of the castle reading, accompanied by two girls. Madara did not remember them, but they seemed to be close friends now. The girl appeared to be just a normal young teenager at that moment, instead of a hunchback bullied by others.

Tissaia was with Triss when she was speaking with a pair of sorcerers. Madara remembered that the woman was one of Isabella's teachers, whom he had seen during the week he stayed there.

His presence was only noticed when he allowed it to be. Tissaia, the only one who saw him leaning against a wall from that angle, could not help but raise an eyebrow when she saw him standing in a corner of the room, without anyone else noticing him.

She knew that he had only revealed himself because he wanted to. For not even she herself could deal with him if he were an assassin.

She brushed off the teachers, saying that she needed to speak with Triss in private, who was also in the room, and said goodbye to them, who were somewhat surprised and even offended at being practically dismissed in that manner.

"You seem busy," Madara said, making Triss look at him in surprise, seeing him for the first time.

"How wouldn't I be? Dragons attacked cities yesterday. Since then, I've been studying that book you gave me," Triss said, crossing her arms before looking at him attentively.

"I heard that you stopped the dragons, but there were also other strange people with unusual powers wearing the clothes of a certain organization," she said, knowing that Akatsuki had something to do with Madara. But this time they did not seem to be Madara's clones, but real people with strange powers.

"There was also an incident in some regions north of Kovir and even in Kaedwen. A mage who had a laboratory in the mountains also saw the sky light up far to the north, beyond the human domains, as if there had been a huge explosion. The Dragon Kingdom isn't there?" Triss murmured.

"Let's say I had to deal with a dark creature that I had already been hunting for months," Madara said, making Triss raise an eyebrow.

"You fought that demon?" she asked openly.

Tissaia, who was also present, frowned. "Demon?" she seemed surprised.

She had some information that Madara was studying branches of forbidden magic and that he intended to create certain things, but she did not have real details about what he had been hunting. She only knew about the event in Skellige, on the same day she arrived to help Ciri, when he encountered Gaunter.

But the word "demon" was not something she expected to hear, and because of that, her surprise was evident.

"Yes. As a last resort, at the moment when I managed to corner him, he manifested his powers in the Valley of the Dragons, managing to control many of them. He brought some to the human world, but I was able to deal with him. The explosion was a consequence of our battle," Madara said.

"But that does not matter now. I intend to accept the kings' summons. That is why I need the help of you two. Ciri must also appear as my wife and queen of Cintra," Madara said.

The two exchanged glances, but nodded. Not even Triss, who had always been cautious with Madara, hesitated. She would always choose to preserve the North. She did not reveal any information about him when the kings demanded that their court sorcerers make immediate contact to find out what was happening.

She could have said many things, but she revealed nothing.

Madara was beginning to see her as a great ally. He would not allow her to die if something like Sodden were to happen again.

In any case, Madara took them to the temple. He needed to prepare for a formal meeting with all the monarchs of the North. As king of Cintra alongside his queen, who even without a kingdom or lands, the North and the world regarded them as such.
