Somewhere far away in the human world, the roof of the hospital rose like a block of pale sculpted concrete against a full,overcast sky. The windows were so high up and tiny that even a child wouldn't be able to pass through them. Inside,the air smelt like disinfectant with a hint of floral fragrance.
The staff on night duty had just arrived and each second was ticking slower than the last.
At the other end of the hospital just a few doors away from the nurses dressing room, two young nurses who looked like they were in their early twenties leaned outside the door, their voices low but careless. One of them pops open a can of mentos,her short acrylic nails tapping impatiently against the lid.
"How long do you think we're going to keep doing this? I suggest they inject something into her and just… let her go" she muttered. "I'm not getting paid enough for this nonsense. She's been like this for years. Years for fucks sake and still no improvement. She's just stuck in her head"
