"What do you mean, you want me to be the spokesperson for the spatial backpack?"
Julian had just come out of the secret realm and had only been lying low at home for three days when his uncle came knocking. First, he told Julian some good news.
The spatial backpack technology they had been researching for five to six years was now finally a success.
The technology was something Julian had discovered in a certain Technological Ruin, and it contained a very complete set of spatial backpack technology.
But this wasn't something you could simply copy and produce directly.
It was like giving a middle school student a university-level advanced mathematics exam along with all the answers. They could copy the answers, but they wouldn't understand the process.
The spatial backpack technology was the same: many difficult problems required researchers to slowly overcome them, and the materials needed to manufacture the backpacks were also a major challenge.
Two years ago, they already had a prototype of the spatial backpack, but then an espionage incident occurred, which Julian had personally handled.
Having a prototype was one thing, but there was still quite a gap before meeting true production requirements; a whole series of tests had to be carried out.
It was like a new drug needing clinical trials before it could be put on the market.
So, it took another two years in between.
Only now had the spatial backpack technology truly matured.
"The spatial backpack can take our Walker Group to the next level. Julian, you being the spokesperson for it is the best choice," said Henry, who was usually composed but now couldn't hide his excitement.
With Julian's rise, the Walker Group's size and scale had long since become enormously vast.
Its main businesses—real estate, steel, hotels, energy, Poké Balls, Pokéblocks, Pokémon medicine, and more—had already expanded all over the world.
For such a colossal conglomerate to advance even further, the only way was to branch into other fields. But doing so would inevitably trigger suppression from existing industry giants across those sectors.
Even though the Walker Group didn't fear such suppression, it was unnecessary to stir up that kind of trouble. After all, if you tried to take every advantage for yourself, all you'd see around you would be enemies.
So, the only way to go further was through innovation.
Now, the spatial backpack technology was the most critical part of pushing the Walker Group to the next level. At the same time, this technology was really something revolutionary.
Normally, when people went shopping, carrying a few things was fine. But once the amount increased, carrying them became extremely inconvenient—especially for women who loved shopping.
Buying a dozen or so items at once was a common occurrence. But carrying them all by yourself was definitely out of the question. If you had a boyfriend, he could help share the burden, but if you didn't, then you'd have to find somewhere to temporarily store them.
But with a spatial backpack, things became completely different. Forget a dozen items—you could fit hundreds in there, and the weight would only be that of the backpack itself.
A standard spatial backpack only weighed about 500 grams, yet it could store up to 500 kilos worth of items inside.
And the biggest beneficiaries of the spatial backpack were actually Trainers.
A Trainer needed to keep a constant supply of various Pokéblocks and all kinds of healing Potions on hand.
So when you were out and about, virtually every Trainer you see would be lugging around a huge pack.
And if entering a Secret Realm, the amount of food and Potions needed increased even more. On top of that, there were spare clothes, tents, drinks, and all kinds of other supplies.
These things often had to be prepared in quantities sufficient for several months, which resulted in huge backpacks—and often more than one.
Of course, if you had a Gengar, you could store your things inside its dimensional space. But Trainers all knew that as a Ghost-type Pokémon, Gengar would unconsciously absorb its trainer's lifeforce.
Very few Gengar could control this, and most only gained the ability to consciously regulate it after reaching the Elite-level.
So if you wanted to become short-lived, then sure—you could capture a Gengar just for storage.
If not, then you had no choice but to carry bags upon bags into the secret realm.
The more supplies you carried, and the more complete they were, the longer you could stay inside the secret realm and the safer you would be.
Countless Trainers had been forced to leave secret realms early because they ran out of Potions, and some unlucky ones even died inside.
Don't be fooled by the energy erosion of secret realm into thinking people naturally couldn't stay long anyway.
An Advanced-level secret realm could normally be stayed in for eight months, while a Beginner-level secret realm could allow two or even three years.
Unless you brought an entire truckload of supplies, there was simply no way to support living inside a secret realm for that long though.
So the majority of Trainers didn't leave a secret realm early because of energy erosion—they left because they had exhausted their supplies and were forced to come out.
Because continuing to explore a secret realm without supplies was extremely dangerous. If either you or your Pokémon got injured and lacked sufficient medicine, your Pokémon might be able to endure it with their powerful physiques—but as a human, even a severe cold could potentially cost you your life.
Under such circumstances, continuing the exploration would be extremely unwise.
So once spatial backpacks appeared, Trainers would be able to stay inside secret realms longer, naturally improving their strength faster while also increasing their safety.
"Uncle, the spatial backpack is such a fantastic product—do you really need me to be the spokesperson? Just put out any random ad and it'll blow up instantly."
Julian lay lazily on the sofa, not particularly interested in the matter.
A product as incredible as the spatial backpack would definitely cause a frenzy the moment it hit the market. It wouldn't even need advertising.
Before long, word of mouth would spread like wildfire, and at the same time, a flood of tech bloggers on platforms like TikTok would definitely post their own review videos.
One could say that for Trainers, the spatial backpack was an absolute necessity. If you wanted to live longer, live better, and improve your strength faster, then this was something you absolutely had to have.
If you didn't buy it, plenty of other people would.
"How can we just casually put out an ad? This is a revolutionary product, and even more, it can make our Walker Group truly the number one conglomerate in the world."
"So, as the heir of the Walker family, you must be the spokesperson for it. Though there's no endorsement fee."
Henry couldn't help but chuckle at the end.
"I really have to do it?"
"You have to!"
Alright then. Seeing how serious his uncle was, Julian could only agree.
This thing truly was a revolutionary product. And it wouldn't just elevate the Walker Group—it could also raise the national power of the entire nation.
"I've already discussed it with the Elders Council. For now, the spatial backpacks will only be sold within the country. After one year, they'll be released to the rest of the world," Henry said.
Since this item could enhance Trainers' strength, naturally their own people would use it first before others got access. And one year was more than enough time for Drakoria's Trainers to use the spatial backpack to extend their stays in secret realms and thereby advancing their strength a step further.
Of course, this mainly applied to lower-level trainers. Once someone reached the Elite level, spatial backpacks wouldn't contribute much to improving their strength anymore, though they could still greatly improve quality of life inside secret realms.
